Can't wait for the "oh no my web shooters have run out of web" battle scene.

Cool Poster, Bro:

Kalyx triaD 07-15-2011 03:10 PM

Almost sad he won't wear that suit in Avengers.

Sixx 07-15-2011 07:43 PM

He won't?

So what suit will he wear?

Lock Jaw 07-15-2011 08:21 PM

His costume is supposed to be "updated" in the present, but it will probably still look largely the same.

Rammsteinmad 07-16-2011 06:52 AM

Underneath Dum Dum Dugan, is that meant to be a younger Nick Fury? Or just the token black guy that's needed for the poster?

Also, cool poster. :y:

mitch_h 07-16-2011 11:08 PM

Captain America actually looks alright, i'm just worried about Joe Johnston directing, guy is a huge hack, like Ratner level of hackiness. I guess October Sky was pretty good, so maybe this will be his October Sky of action movies.

LuigiD 07-17-2011 12:55 AM

Is the younger guy in the blue Bucky? marking out so bad if it is otherwise..bah

Kalyx triaD 07-17-2011 02:06 AM

Yes, that's Bucky.

Kalyx triaD 07-17-2011 01:59 PM

Captain America's post-credits scene is the post credits scene you've been waiting for. A trailer essentially. Woooo

How do you know?

Kalyx triaD 07-17-2011 05:36 PM

Wild guess.

The teaser for Avengers should be unveiled by Comic-Con next weekend.

Sixx 07-17-2011 06:04 PM

When does Captain America hit the theathers anyway?

Rammsteinmad 07-17-2011 06:36 PM

Any hints at what it is?

Sixx 07-17-2011 06:37 PM

Avengers trailer I assume.

Sixx 07-17-2011 06:38 PM

Meeting up with Stark and the rest of the gang.

Kalyx triaD 07-17-2011 07:39 PM

Half scene, half straight up trailer.

Blitz 07-17-2011 11:28 PM

It's a trailer. A trailer that's leaked. See it while you can.

Well, how else would you have people cheering?

XL 07-18-2011 01:30 AM

I wouldn't. They're in a cinema, not at the theatre.

Sixx 07-18-2011 01:50 AM

I wouldn't too. But that's how some people react.

Remember when I went to the premiere of Star Wars Episode III (was never a huge fan, but got free tickets) and there were a bunch of nerds sitting in the back that started cheering and clapping once they put Anakin in the Vader suit.

Kalyx triaD 07-18-2011 01:57 AM

People cheer at movies all the time.

Sixx 07-18-2011 02:11 AM

I dunno, it just seems odd.

Nowhere Man 07-20-2011 03:57 PM

Hmmmm......

On the one hand, I like the cast, I like the old-school web-shooters, I like that they're using Gwen instead of Mary Jane and that it looks like they're incorporating bits of nerdy-science-geek Gwen from Spectacular Spider-Man, and the first-person wall-crawling sequence put a big stupid grin on my face.

On the other hand.......I'm really not digging the 'dark and angsty' atmosphere they're going for. Peter's got that Edward Cullen vacant stare, and the only lines he says sound really whiny. It's like they're trying to cross the Nolan Batman movies with Twilight, and neither of those are really appropriate for Spider-Man, who's supposed to be a smartass and a goofball who fights villains the Avengers would just laugh at.

I'm sure it's going to be a good movie. I just don't think it's going to be the movie I want, and that's really going to annoy me.

Lock Jaw 07-20-2011 04:00 PM

Peter Parker's hair is too poofy and tall. :shifty:

Is this the first time Peter's parents have ever been seen in anything? Are they supposed to alive and off on a secret mission in this new movie? Who is the bad guy in the new movie anyways?

Lock Jaw 07-20-2011 04:05 PM

Never mind. Quick search turns up that the villain is The Lizard and that Peter's parents have been established in the comics as being spies for the CIA or something.

Reavant 07-20-2011 04:11 PM

who is supposed to be the villain in this?

Nowhere Man 07-20-2011 04:11 PM

It always bugged me that the Parkers were CIA operatives (or were they SHIELD? I don't remember). That just seemed to be an unnecessary addition to the franchise. The only thing we really needed to know about them is that they're dead and that's why he's being raised by his aunt and uncle. Having it turn out that his mom and dad were actually super-spies kind of spoils the whole 'just an average kid who accidentally stumbled into some superpowers' angle.

It's a cool twist, but I agree with this. It waters down the 'average' a whole lot.

Fignuts 07-20-2011 06:32 PM

ugh

first person view

Hope that's exclusive to the trailer.

LuigiD 07-21-2011 11:41 AM

wow wow wow..
what is this crap about the Parker family being spies? when the hell did this happen?

McLegend 07-21-2011 11:48 AM

Captain America is getting pretty good reviews. Not great though, and not as good as Thor and X-Men first class.

According to wikipedia, that's been part of the Spidey franchise since 1968. They just rarely ever bring it up because it's, y'know.......stupid.
