Ok, I've seen that, but I wasn't sure if that's the look they were going with in the actual movie.
Good to know, very much like the comic books. |
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes-8/10
Stellar sequel. Far better than the second. Motion capture actors stole the fucking show, sans one shining scene for Gary Oldman. Hercules-7/10 Pure raw entertainment. Didn't take itself seriously at all. Good humor. Rock was good. I liked it and was pleasantly surprised. |

a very unsettling/mindfuckery movie right up there next to the Wicker Man. The poster's tagline is self explanatory but basically, it's based on this REAL time event yet the movie didn't say the usual intro of 'based on a true story" caption: The Jonestown Massacre. https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...77131416_n.jpg 8/10. |

What a slam fucking dunk for Marvel. By and far the most enjoyable film of the summer to this point, for me, as well as potentially the enjoyable Marvel movie for me to date. The chemistry between the team was through the roof. Best movie I have seen this year. Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods-8/10 Really enjoyable and well done DBZ movie, in English. Was awesome to see such new, crisp animation, and see Vegeta and Goku get some much screen time. Have a feeling this is going to cap off DBZ, and, if that's the case, this was an enjoyable and well done way of going about it. |

They Came Together - 7/10 I rented this sumbitch on iTunes for a whopping $ 6.99 (I know, right?) because I love the cast. Unlike a lot of reviewers (mostly hopeless romantic white females) on iTunes, I knew what I was getting in to. I had a good time. |
did the movie climax with them climaxing together?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-0/10
Well, I saw it, and honestly, it was pretty fucking awful. I cannot say that the people behind this movie got anything right. I almost don't where to start. Guess it'll be the story itself, which was barely there. Literally, the plot was was near non existence. I do not know exactly what this movie was about. I do know the white man wanted to be rich (more rich?), and the Japanese guy wanted.....I don't recall exactly what he wanted. Speaking of him, Shredder was completely useless in this movie. He doesn't say or do much of anything. He has zero presence, zero panache. The original did such a great job of building him up and creating this aura around him to the point where, when he finally showed, it was amazing and the highlight scene of the film. In this one, you see him twice, and then he's got his awfully megatron shredder outfit, which, even in the context of the film, is utterly ridiculous. He also has zero connection with the turtles. None. Nothing. Why he cares about them, why he wants them dead, why he even gives two flying fucks is beyond me. I think the original idea was legitimately to have Fitchner play Shredder, and when fans had a hissy fit, the lackluster crew decided to heave a quick, meaningless rewrite into the film, thinking they would appease the fan base. The turtles were awful, too. I was hoping to at least enjoy there banter and seeing them on screen, but they were so under fucking developed. They literally showed up, and that was it. Nothing personal about them. Nothing to make you care. Just a bunch of junk plastered all over them, stupid dialogue and boner jokes, and no chemistry between any of them. They were just there. To give the villains and April something to do, and nothing more. Splinter was shit too. Looked liked shit. His origin was shit. And apparently, reading a picture book on ninjitsu not only makes you have a subtle Japanese accent, it causes you to dress like a ninja master and somehow know about the Shredder, a being you have never met and have zero reason as to knowing who they are or that they even exist. This movie just doesn't have it. It's not even hilariously bad. It has no reason to exist, and the story itself is not memorable at all. The movie literally just happens. The first one had a strong underlying theme of family, and what that means to the different characters. This movie's theme was...well, I don't know, but it was fucking atrocious. Sad thing is, it's making money despite being really, really bad, which means there's no doubt going to be a sequel, which is only going to get worse. |

9/10. Very powerful nihilistic view from a shooter's perspective of how corporate world bullshit is controlling us etc.. And his method is shooting spree. Even better than the 1st Rampage. I agree with the review saying Uwe Boll looked in the mirror and made better like this one! This trailer even does the movie justice of its plotline: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/tPTtRgK1r58" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

bout to go all angry rant here
The Protector 2 - 0/10 What the fuck has happened to Tony Jaa and Prachya Pinkaew? It's like this was made by completely different people. The Protector is in my opinion, the best martial arts movie ever made. How did they fuck up the sequel this badly? The biggest difference is that they are now using wires and CG. Jaa's previous movies were awesome specifically because they DIDN'T use wires or CG. The fights looked real, and felt real, because they were real. But now, everything looks ridiculous and terrible. Especially considering that this was not made by hollywood, but by thailand, so the extensive amount of CG that is here, looks about equal to the mortal kombat movies. That's not an exaggeration. It's that bad. That would be endurable if the rest of the fighting was good, but it's really not. At all. I don't know if it's because he's older or because of lingering injuries, but Jaa just looks slower here. Some people have said it's because the people working with him weren't good enough and fast enough to keep up with him, so Jaa had to slow down just to get the fight choreography to work. I dunno. All I know is that in the first movie, you barely had time to process the badass shit jaa did, before he did something else amazing. In this movie there were literally only two instances throughout the whole film where I went "Wow that was cool." And one of them was from Jeeja Yanin. Oh yeah, if you don't know Jeeja Yanin is an amazing female martial artist who exploded onto the kung fu movie scene almost as fast as Tony Jaa. A movie with these two in it is like a modern martial arts dream match. Too bad she spends most of her screen time here getting her ass handed to her, and needing help from big strong men to save her. This is unacceptable. Not even from a sexism standpoint (though it does seem a tad sexist) It's unacceptable because she spends all her time in her other movies BEATING THE LIVING FUCK OUT OF ENTIRE WAVES OF BIG SCARY DUDES. The Jaa/Jeeja team up should of been the best thing ever. Instead she just lies on the ground twitching for most of the movie. What else, what else....oh yeah plot is terrible. It's terrible because they actually tried to make some complex plot. Martial arts movies don't need complex plots. Look at the first film. Bad guys steal dude's elephant. Dude beats the shit out of everybody til he gets elephant back. That's it. Done. Instead they try and make some big conspiracy plot, and it fails horribly because martial arts movie writers can't write for shit. That's why they're martial arts movie writers. Obligatory chase scene like in all Tony Jaa movies, except this one is boring, makes no sense, and drags on waaaaaaaaaay past it's welcome. Finally, the RZA's performance should be shown in acting classes around the world as a lesson how NOT to act. "RRRAAAAAAARRR YOU CAN TELL HOW ANGRY I AM CAUSE MY EYES ARE SO WIDE! RAWWWWRR" end rant FUCK |

The Babadook - It's almost like a live version adaptation of Among The Sleep game and a mixture of Sinister!! But only better.. Even the monster resembled so much of the one in Among The Sleep game. Rotten Tomatoes gave it 100% rating. Not bad for a low budgie Aussie horror flick.. That was totally unexpected. Reason why I compared it to Among The Sleep is because SPOILER: show Go fucking see it. It's a perfect pre-Halloween scary movie! Well played, Australia! 9/10.. |

It restored my faith in action movies being more uncensored R-rated violence. Nail guns, impaled on a powerdrill to the skull, you name it. Despite I haven't watched the entire TV series it's based on, I'm still familiar with the intro theme. And it had a bit of Taxi Driver vibe chemistry between Equalizer and a teen prostitute. Sound familiar right? Better yet, it felt like a sequel to Man on Fire. 8/10. <iframe src="//www.youtube.com/embed/8OGXNzJ2cIE" allowfullscreen="" height="315" width="560" frameborder="0"></iframe> |

Documentary about Edward Snowden by the journalist originally contacted by him. Mostly footage of Snowden's first meetings with her and Glenn Greenwald, where he is explaining all the NSA stuff to them in person from his hotel room in Hong Kong.
