Rasslers falling for workers working

Emperor Smeat 11-23-2016 07:50 PM

Story gets a bit weirder since both sides ended up doing the opposite or reversing roles once the whole thing became public.

Dawson both apologized and deleted the tweet while Road Dogg and Bubba tried to play it off as them just joking when they started to get backlash for their own tweets.

Fignuts 11-23-2016 09:05 PM

They're two of the biggest asshole characters on the show, and have said much worse in promos. Is twitter sacred ground or something?

Emperor Smeat 11-23-2016 09:12 PM

Might be some sort of unwritten rule where you don't publicly trash those on the main roster regardless of it being a joke or not if your not among them.

Last guy who did something similar was Tough Enough winner Josh who trashed jobbers and/or low tier wrestlers in the WWE and got hit with bad backlash in return for it. Same thing like Dawson where the tweet(s) got deleted although don't remember if he apologized as well.

Triple A 11-23-2016 09:19 PM

Bubba Ray sounds like a lil bitch

DaveWadding 11-23-2016 09:34 PM

sounds like he Bullied (Ray'd) Dawson into deleting his tweet.

Vastardikai 11-23-2016 09:57 PM

And this, kids, is why you can't get heat in the modern era.

Emperor Smeat 11-24-2016 01:36 AM

Tyson Kidd and WWE currently rumored to be in a dispute regarding his contract status and Total Divas stuff. May or may not be a reason why Natty suddenly got more tv time recently to persuade him to drop whatever potential legal issues he has with the company.

In regards to Total Divas, Kidd stated he wasn't happy being suddenly pulled from this season and said it was the WWE who made the call for it to happen. Would be the 2nd guy pulled from this season after Del Rio revealed the terms of his release meant the WWE couldn't show footage of him for more than a few seconds.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">I've been taken off the show by <a href="https://twitter.com/WWE">@WWE</a> you'll have to contact them to figure it out. There was a rumor a while ago about the WWE considering letting Kidd's contract expire quietly since they no longer wanted to pay him beyond the minimum owed.

Mr. Nerfect 11-24-2016 07:16 AM

The guy's career ended on their watch. Wouldn't his story actually be good for Total Divas? The guy was finding a personality -- couldn't he do Superstars commentary for them or something? Be an Ambassador, etc. Seems petty by WWE, even though it's understandable they wouldn't sign him for a three year full-time wrestler's pay extension.

After every Takeover, Dawson and Wilder usually tease about showing up on the main rosters next as part of a running gag they have on Twitter. Might have gone a bit too far this time when Dawson trashed Smackdown's tag division during its tag turmoil match yesterday.

Among the people who got pissed off was Road Dogg who is the lead producer and head of Creative for Smackdown.

What fucking idiots. Bubba Ray and Road Dogg, not Dash & Dawson who are trying to work. A pretty silly thing for Dawson to say. He could have phrased it in a way that didn't bury the concept, but rather the strategy of them appearing in it.

Vastardikai 11-24-2016 07:35 AM

I swear, maybe WWE should let Vader teach a class on how to use Social Media to promote yourself. Get him one more decent pay day before he dies.

Mr. Nerfect 11-24-2016 07:58 AM

Just fucked around with an ideal WrestleMania 33 card given the current circumstances. This is what I came up with:

Main Card:

* AJ Styles (c) vs. John Cena for the WWE Title
* The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton
* Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg
* Big Show & Shaq vs. The Spirit Squad
* Triple H vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
* Chris Jericho & Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro & Sami Zayn
* Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal
* Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks & Bayley vs. Natalya, Emma, Asuka & Nikki Bella
* Shield Triple Threat for the IC Title
* Heel New Day vs. American Alpha for the Tag Titles
* Dolph Ziggler vs. The Miz in a First Blood Match (provided that you can get it past sponsors, etc.)
* Brian Kendrick vs. Gran Metalik for the Cruiserweight Title

Kickoff:

* Sin Cara vs. Kalisto in a Mask vs. Mask Match
* Enzo & Cass vs. The Usos vs. Blake & Murphy vs. The Fashion Police
* Carmella vs. Naomi vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Summer Rae
* TJ Perkins, Adrian Neville, Rich Swann, Cedric Alexander & Akira Tozawa vs. Tajiri, Drew Gulak, Oney Lorcan, Tony Nese & Ariya Daivari

You just accept whatever the WWE throws at you huh?

Evil Vito 11-24-2016 10:21 AM

I've got a feeling The Revival are Raw-bound, unfortunately. I'd much rather see them tearing things with with American Alpha on the blue brand, but at this point none of the current Raw teams feel suited to end The New Day's title run, so The Revival might be brought in to do it.

Sounds plausible.

If Road Dogg was being serious, I don't think he would have ended it with his catchphrase as a "hashtag".

Cool King 11-24-2016 10:39 AM

Still, what Dawson did/said was a bit silly.

Cool King 11-24-2016 04:07 PM

I don't know why he doesn't like his theme. It's not that bad.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/H_nPM0HhKJg?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

His first theme anyway.

Cool King 11-24-2016 04:07 PM

Also, he's looking really good.

His Arn Anderson impression is pretty good too.

Cool King 11-24-2016 04:11 PM

I think Show is right about Cass though. A heel run would be interesting to see. I feel Cass is one of those guys who can make a success out of both, so a heel run can wait for now. He's doing a pretty good job as a face.

As for Corbin. I don't agree with Show on that.

Gerard 11-24-2016 04:33 PM

Not sure on his theme but he mentioned in another interview how his name was one of Vince's little sly references, The Big Show (TBS) a dig at Ted Turner.

I always wondered that actually.

And Show is, in fact, looking phenomenal.

Mr. Nerfect 11-24-2016 05:50 PM

When it comes to Cass, I don't think he's experienced enough to carry being a heel. They've lucked into a situation where they have a big dude that has a likable enough personality and he's human enough and inexperienced enough to be fighting from underneath against the right opponents.

Emperor Smeat 11-24-2016 06:38 PM

Think he might have been a heel during his early NXT days but also had Enzo around almost from the start for it.

Them turning into a face team was pretty much an out of nowhere type moment. Just randomly turned during the middle of a feud even though nothing about the feud actually caused it to happen I think.

Cool King 11-24-2016 06:40 PM

Remember when Sheamus was a face and was incredibly annoying, as he would always crowbar tall tales about his family into his promos and he would also always feel the need to remind everyone that he's Irish?

And also this segment that had weird movie-like camera angles for some reason.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/A8-2YPu9ACc?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Cool King 11-24-2016 06:40 PM

God I hated that Sheamus.

Mr. Nerfect 11-24-2016 06:47 PM

Oh god. Oh my fucking god. That is filmed so badly. Sheamus is also such a jerk. Generally Racist Sheamus was the worst. It reminded me of 2006 DX -- the guys that's sense of humor is to say "cock" and then slap you in the back really hard because they are laughing so hard.

That was the absolute worst. And shit like that has a much wider effect on casual viewers. How can people take that shit seriously? It's disorienting, makes no sense and shatters the suspension of disbelief. Who pieced that footage together. That and the "evil villains talk to each other in front of the camera as if no one else is watching" bullshit are the absolute worst hangovers from the Attitude era.

Camera-wise, it was just the WWE trying to do the same style they did with the Team Hell No stuff earlier.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/NWQRg52--uY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Don't think they did more of this style after the Sheamus stuff. The people at Full Sail might have been in charge of the filming since its right around the time WWE rebranded NXT into what it is now.

Evil Vito 11-24-2016 07:14 PM

Watching that Sheamus promo...ugh. Mentioned it in the Raw thread this week but I could never do a full-on watchthrough of Raw on the Network like so many do. You couldn't pay me enough to relive all of the Raws from 2012 to now when they moved to 3 hours and almost nothing was going on.
