Woooooo! Going to see the Arizona Fall League and my boy DaveWadding!

Will Crazy Edgar join us? Will we need to open a kickstarter account? Stay tuned.

DaveWadding 09-12-2013 01:33 AM

FIST PUMPS AND HIGH FIVES ALL AROUND.

Baseball really sucks

Bad News Gertner 09-12-2013 11:26 AM

This season has been fun.

Lol Encarnacion is now out for the season. That leaves Adam Lind and J.P Arencibia as the only strting players who haven't missed significant time.

Frank Drebin 09-12-2013 07:17 PM

Anyone else taken a look at the rosters for the AFL? Any fun prospects to look out for?

DaveWadding 09-12-2013 07:22 PM

Haven't watched one second of Mets baseball this week. Doesn't seem like I've missed much other than that they've practically locked up a protected draft pick.

They have zero excuses to not sign a quality free agent this winter. Shin-Soo Choo is the guy I'm hoping for as I think his style of play would be perfect for Citi Field and he'll be much cheaper than Ellsbury. But they have to at least get somebody.

Soriano's got a nice smile. Our babies would be cute.

But would he Fear the Deer?

ClockShot 09-13-2013 08:21 PM

Pretty big series for the Yankees right now. Get a nice cushion for the Wild Card spot, and play some catch-up with Boston for the AL east.

Next couple weeks are critical.

Undoubtedly.

toxic rooster 09-14-2013 08:48 AM

we had a catcher stay at our folks' place this past christmas by the name of cody clark. 31yo, playing in our offseason league and was off contract at the time and contemplating giving it up...got picked up by the Astros organisation and spent most of the year at their AA affiliate

couple of 7 day DLs to their big league catchers and he gets his brief stint in the bigs. something like crash davis' story in bull durham. point is he nabbed his first hit for the astros today and we're all popping champagne corks down here. nicest guy on the planet

Bad News Gertner 09-14-2013 09:39 AM

Lol J.P Arencibia is now hitting .203. Worst batting average in Jays history.

The Condor 09-14-2013 12:12 PM

Tell me, Gertner... under the Mendoza line or no for J.P. this year?

Weird, I know of one of those dudes who went on the 7 day DL

toxic rooster 09-14-2013 04:49 PM

Small world eh. Tell him we said thanks for getting slightly hurt

Evil Vito 09-14-2013 04:55 PM

Mets/Marlins in the most pointless double header ever today.

Emperor Smeat 09-14-2013 04:59 PM

 Red Sox beat the Yanks. Magic number is now just 6 to lock up the division.

Evil Vito 09-14-2013 05:03 PM

Wright is still working his ass off to get back before the end of the year. I give him credit for it, but I hardly see the point. He'll be at 3rd base next year, and Zack Wheeler will be in the rotation. Those are literally the only guarantees for next year's roster given that Harvey could very well get TJS and d'Arnaud has struggled so mightily they may sign a veteran to push him for the starting job.

Duda is playing for a job right now. He can never go to the outfield again. It'll be either him or Ike at 1B next year. I can't see how both make the roster.

LOS D'BACKS

OssMan 09-14-2013 08:37 PM

Caught an inning of the O's/Blue Jays game... sigh...

OssMan 09-14-2013 11:38 PM

"Zach Duke" means "handkerchief" in Dutch lol

RoXer 09-15-2013 02:14 AM

Might have been shown on the ROOT broadcast, will check later

Evil Vito 09-15-2013 02:29 AM

Leyland must be on something. Fielder on first base with 2 outs, down 1-0 in the 9th. Infante doubles to left. Fielder unsurprisingly gets thrown out at home to end the game.

Practically everybody in the league is faster than Prince Fielder, so I'd find it hard to believe that there wasn't SOMEBODY that could have pinch run. Especially with expanded rosters.

I have seen him play in his rookie and final year (and once in between). He had a good career.

The Condor 09-15-2013 12:30 PM

Only saw Todd play once, a few years ago at Yankees Stadium. I hope the Cooperstown contingent doesn't screw him over like they've done with Larry Walker.

screech 09-15-2013 01:27 PM

Love Todd Helton :(

DaveWadding 09-15-2013 01:39 PM

Mo, Todd Helton, Vladdy...:'(

Bad News Gertner 09-16-2013 08:25 AM

Ohhhhhhh Blue Jays. What a waste.

They will.

Vlad, on the other hand, has a good shot at making it. Not 1st ballot, but eventually.

The Condor 09-16-2013 01:27 PM

That's a crock if they shaft Helton like that. Vlad should be a first ballot guy; in his prime there was no one like him in that he was a 40/40 guy with an arm not seen since Clemente and perhaps the best hand-eye coordination we may ever see. 10 great years and arguably the best at his position for that time.

Frank Drebin 09-16-2013 10:47 PM

Think I've said it before - Vlad was my favorite non-Cub growing up. Remember being so pissed that the Cubs had Sosa and weren't going to try to sign him prior to his deal with the Angels.

Damian Rey 09-17-2013 11:04 AM

Andrew Cashner with a 1 hit perfect game. 27 up, 27 down.

SlickyTrickyDamon 09-17-2013 11:27 AM

Which is not a thing. He faced the minimum. Great outing.
