The match won't happen cause AJ attacks him before the match.

Even worse if this was HHH in the Styles spot geeks like Noid would be like "OMG he's always holding guys down, he's a pariah".

So you can never win.

I would not complain seeing Neville actually being used at all.... I'd rather a guy on the roster get the spotlight and do a job in 1 5-minute match than watch someone not on the roster job in under 2..... Save the jobbers for Strowman & Nia Jax......

Having said that, if they're going to do that I'd like them to properly commit to it and actually put most of the big names into the fray. I'm thinking I'd line the interpromotional matches on the card up like this:

AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, John Cena, Dolph Ziggler, and The Miz vs. Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Braun Strowman

I'm guessing Cena will be back for this show even if he's off television most of the time. Styles/Ambrose and Miz/Ziggler will probably still be feuding so tension will probably be built through to TLC. I've left Orton and Wyatt off the team as they're likely to be having another PPV match and Wyatt seems like the last person who would give a shit about putting everything else aside for the sake of "brand pride".

Owens/Jericho/Rollins will have their own stuff going on the Raw side. I feel bad not having Rusev as one of the "top 5" guys on Raw but his feud with Reigns is hopefully ending at HIAC and I just think it'd be better for his character to stay away from Reigns once its done. Plus Strowman being added makes sense with him demanding "better competition".

Heath Slater/Rhyno, The Usos, American Alpha, The Hype Bros, and The Ascension vs. The New Day, Gallows/Anderson, Enzo/Cass, Sheamus/Cesaro, Zayn/Neville

The Ascension seem higher on the pecking order to fill that last SmackDown spot over Breezango or The Vaudevillians...if The Spirit Squad are signed as a team full-time then maybe they'd get the spot but there isn't any indication that their recent stint is more than just a temporary gig.

I think Zayn and Neville will continue teaming up for a while which will make them eligible to be in this match for Raw. If they're not, then it's a toss up between Golden Truth or The Shining Stars for the last spot.

Becky Lynch, Nikki Bella, Alexa Bliss, Naomi, and Natalya vs. Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Bayley, Dana Brooke, and Nia Jax

This one is pretty cut and dry. I guess Carmella could go in over Naomi or Natalya but I'm thinking she drops another match to Nikki Bella to earn a spot on the team. There's little guess work needed on the Raw side, those the most logical five.

Rusev, Bo Dallas, Titus O'Neil, and Golden Truth vs. Baron Corbin, Jack Swagger, Apollo Crews, and Breezango

This feels like something they'd just throw on the pre-show to set the tone. Rusev deserves better but at least he'd be able to tear through guys in this one. And hey maybe he'll make Jack Swagger tap out to the Accolade, that's never happened before.

Add in Goldberg/Lesnar, Orton/Wyatt, and a Cruiserweight Title match and even though that's only 6 matches for the main card it feels like it'd be more than enough to fill out a card given that a lot of them would run long.

I get doing the RAW vs. SmackDown matches, although I don't like how it is going to muddle-up face/heel dynamics, but I'd rather they didn't do the tag team one. Actually, I'd rather just see one on the RAW side.

Mr. Nerfect 10-14-2016 04:27 AM

Spent some coffee time this morning running through a random WrestleMania card. Obviously you can't predict what will happen this far out, but it's sort of a more "realistic" card than the ones in the ideal card thread.

WWE World Championship
AJ Styles (c) vs. John Cena

Triple Threat Match for the Universal Championship
Kevin Owens (c) vs. Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor

Brock Lesnar (w/ Paul Heyman) vs. Bobby Lashley (w/ Shane McMahon)

The Undertaker vs. Rusev (w/ Lana)

RAW Tag Team Championship
The Revival (c) vs. Big Show & Shaquille O'Neall

The King of Kings vs. The King of Strong Style

Triple H vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Eight-Woman Tag Team Match
Emmalina, Asuka, Nia Jax & Nikki Bella vs. Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch & Bayley

Fatal 4-Way Match
Randy Orton vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Luke Harper

Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal
Won by Big E

United States Championship
Roman Reigns (c) vs. Sami Zayn

Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship
Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. The Miz vs. Kane vs. Kalisto vs. Zack Ryder vs. Heath Slater vs. Apollo Crews

SmackDown Tag Team Championship
The Usos (c) vs. American Alpha

Cruiserweight Championship
TJ Perkins (c) vs. Kota Ibushi

Mr. Nerfect 10-14-2016 06:02 AM

I don't know whether or not to start a new thread for this, but I was thinking about NXT as a developmental territory the other day.

Triple H gets all this praise for what he's done down there, but just to play devil's advocate: which stars did NXT create? OVW gave the world John Cena, Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar. Batista said he learnt nothing there, so I won't include him in that list. NXT is based on the skeleton of FCW, and it has been around for four years now. If you go from the period OVW worked as a developmental territory for years deep, you get a whole list of guys that got their start there that ended up in WWE.

All of the NXT talent that have found success have seemingly been from the indies. They might have learnt valuable things in NXT, true, but when it comes to wrestling skill, who has NXT actually produced? You could make a case for the women, but they also need a lot of production to make their matches click.

Mr. Nerfect 10-14-2016 06:25 AM

Wouldn't it be nice to see Kenny & Mikey with the Tag Team Titles again? Glad to see them back. Well, I haven't watched a show they've been on yet, but I am happy for them.

Mr. Nerfect 10-14-2016 06:31 AM

I never really got to listen to much of Kevin Kelly's commentary. I'm doing some research on him now. His Wikipedia page says that he was the chief mind behind the Triple H/Stephanie McMahon getting together storyline and was a talent scout for WWE. He seemed like a really involved and passionate dude. Does anyone know how he came to lose influence?

Mr. Nerfect 10-14-2016 07:10 AM

I'm reading up on Dan Severn. Man was a fucking beast -- hence the nickname, I suppose. I came into wrestling after his WWF run, so I'm quite unfamiliar with him. Obviously you hear the stories, the rumors, the praise and the criticisms, but I'm kind of excited to go back and actually watch some of his stuff with a more mature eye.

On paper, this guy is a legitimate legend and he STILL fucking wrestles. What a champ.

If you think that spot makes sense for Neville then either you think Neville is hot garbage or you don't understand the angle. I think it's the latter.

I'm going to be running a seminar to teach Internet fans the business. I recommend you attend.

Does RAW even have ten teams?

Survivor Series format is perfect for the RAW v SDL storyline. It doesn't seem that special right now because the split just happened a few months ago. But in the future this will create some cool moments to see guys touch who haven't touched in years. No homo. Curious if they go the route of having several RAW v SD matches at Mania. This would be the spot to plant some seeds.

Ol Dirty Dastard 10-14-2016 01:21 PM

Mick Foley very politely "called out" Bret Hart and Bret Hart surprising did not respond via tearing Mick Foley a new asshole, and was actually very apologetic about coming across as bitter. Interesting to see Bret somewhat "cool off" on his opinions. I'm guessing when the Micker feels the need to kind of be like "c'mon Bret" it'd make the guy think.

Love the Hitman though. Him being a giant mark for himself and sort of deriding everyone for not being on his level while sometimes face palm worthy is part of his charm. I'm happy to see he didn't lose it on Mick though, given Mick is a top notch guy (at least seemingly so).

Evil Vito 10-14-2016 01:28 PM

I do love Mick but I have kinda rolled my eyes a bit at how defensive he's been about the product in his posts the past few months. Considering that not all that long ago he was writing about how he broke a TV because he wasn't happy with a PPV ending.

Guess it's only natural that his opinions changed once he was put back on the WWE payroll.

Triple A 10-14-2016 01:35 PM

The Micker has to up his political game. Being too candid has cost him a couple of times in the past. The best he can do is defend the product on the frontlines and try his best to improve whatever he can behind the scenes. It'd be rather unprofessional of him to take a steaming dump on the company responsible for his paycheque.

Cool King 10-14-2016 03:10 PM

So some extra seats were added to both Raw and SmackDown for when they come to Glasgow and I've managed to get myself tickets, so I can now say that I'm going to SmackDown!

The seats are probably not great as I'm sitting to the left of the stage and I've never been to the arena in my life so I don't know what the view will be like. I just hope nothing is in my way or that I'm hidden behind the set. My seat is in the blue circle in section 056. I'll be doing some research on my seat to see if I can find out what the view will be like and so on.

https://s22.postimg.org/fgnw2qetd/seat.png

Hopefully things will be alright, as they were the best seats available in what was a mad rush to acquire tickets as they were disappearing in the blink of an eye, but even if things aren't perfect, I'll still be able to say that I've actually been to SmackDown and not just house shows.

Cool King 10-14-2016 03:11 PM

I may or may not take a sign with me.

It all depends on what my seat will be like.

Lock Jaw 10-14-2016 03:24 PM

Probably could have bought second hand tickets somewhere...... not sure if they have something like "stubhub" there...... would pay more than the tickets were worth, but you could get better seats......

Congrats on going, though.

Please bring a "Straight Fire" sign for Becky Lynch, and then subsequently light the sign on fire when she makes her entrance.

Well I've just checked Stubhub and they're quite expensive.

There are tickets in the same area as me that are going for £300 each.

I paid £56 for my ticket.

In light of Itami's recent injury, I think WWE needs to evaluate whether it's worth it to include their bigger names on these tiny road shows where they're facing green, inexperienced guys who could injure them.

As good as they are, I think they could possibly be even better if they were full 30 minute shows on the network.

Maybe have the first 15 minutes talk about their in-ring career up until they left/got released, then the other 15 minutes talking about what they're up to now.
