Bayley has always been the weaker of the 4hw in the ring, but I wouldn't say she's bad.

That said, her real ability is being able to connect emotionally with an audience. The other women can't even touch her in that category, and she's only going to get better at it.

Heisenberg 10-06-2016 04:20 PM

The Mortal Kombat in me wants Dana Brooke to be repackaged as Sindel

ClockShot 10-06-2016 04:23 PM

Chatter going around the net is that Gorilla Monsoon died.

Then again, someone could be fucking with Yahoo!.

Fignuts 10-06-2016 04:24 PM

Then she can just walk into a 6 pack challenge and murder everyone, effortlessly

Fignuts 10-06-2016 04:25 PM

But then Tatanka comes and summons his spirit gods to ddefeat her, sacrificing himself in the process.

Fignuts 10-06-2016 04:26 PM

Wow, I timed those posts very poorly. Thanks, clockshot.

I think of the four, Lynch is actually the "weaker", but since everyone creams themselves over her midriff, this goes ignored.

Kinda goes into Noid's point.

And why the company was looking to push Eva Marie so hard in spite of her being awful.

Or why Nikki Bella and Kelly Kelly have record championship reigns.

Honestly, I think Bayley not being supermodelish works for her. It helps set her apart. And I personally still think she looks worlds better than Charlotte, mainly because I see her dad's face from the 80's on a female body. Kinda disturbing to me.

Not only does she have the connectability, she actually has some sort of character... and not one you have to discover by watching some auxillary show [total divas].

Nobody will ever get past the Playboy Bunny/pissbreak mindset without more Bayleys in the business.

Seriously, that isn't exactly "breaking news"... unless you wrote the wrong name there by accident.

Lynch's mat wrestling is the best of the 4. Her counters, her transitions are all head and shoulders above the other 3. She hasn't had as amazing a performance as NXT takeover match against sasha, but she is capable of a lot more than she's shown on the main roster. Can't say mysrlf why she hasn't shown it yet.

Wishbone 10-06-2016 05:03 PM

Honestly I think they're all exceptional, just in different areas. That's really their strength though. It allows for the division to have a great deal of diversity IMO.

Like Fignuts said i think Becky is the best technician of the group. Others have pointed out that Bayley is the best at connecting with the fans on that emotional level ala Daniel Bryan. Meanwhile Sasha and Charlotte exude "star power."

Simple Fan 10-06-2016 05:12 PM

Agree that Bagley is the female Daniel Bryan. I can't stand either one.

XL 10-06-2016 05:29 PM

A lot of the charm of the Bayley character was lost in transition to the main roster.

Thing is they've but themselves in a Catch 22; if you re-tell the story that got her over in NXT you risk having it shit on by the vocal portion of the audience that already saw this story/know that she's better than struggling her way up the division past the likes of Summer Rae, however, without that story they'll find it harder to get people to connect with the character.

Emperor Smeat 10-06-2016 05:49 PM

Didn't help the WWE went too far back with reverting her character from what was built on NXT while also expecting everyone to already know everything about her from NXT.

Either they shouldn't have panicked and put her on RAW or should have her call up earlier since neither brand has a deep enough Women's division star-wise to do a retelling of her character's rise.

Wishbone 10-06-2016 07:14 PM

I think WWE's biggest mistake at this point is that they think more people watch NXT than actually do. They just assume that everyone watches NXT now or knows what is going on down there and so have forgotten how to do character building on the main roster because of it. They assume that everything comes prepackaged and ready to go when in reality they still need to add all the spices and cook it before the meal is ready to eat.

Them not making their mind about NXT counting or not as canon for the main brands is also another big problem.

That's how you end up with situations like Emma who debuts looking like a goof since none of her NXT stuff counted but WWE still wanted her to act the same way. Or stuff like with Finn where his demon stuff gets treated as canon from the start even if everything that lead up to it was ignored.

New WWE comic book series sounds like it could maybe actually be "good"..... Not like some sort of weird "fantasy" thing, but supposedly grounded in the real storylines/characters.....

First story arc supposed to be a deep look at Seth Rollins, and his mind when he decided to turn on The Shield.

Can't believe Ken Doane was in the same building as John Cena at Smackdown Live. Talk about combustible elements.

Completely disagree on Lynch being the weakest of the four. It's definitely Bayley. Although Becky's midriff is amazing. They make her cover it up though, so she can't even use it to get over.

I agree that she might just have the best crowd connection -- but you do have to consider that she got over in NXT. That is a completely misleading audience. They also got to go along with her on a grand story. It seems like she's not going to get that on RAW.

This might be your opinion, but evidence dictates that Bryan is 1,000,000x more charismatic than Eli Drake. His connection with audiences and success in the business state that. Charisma is not being loud and confident on the mic -- charisma is a leadership quality that makes people latch onto you.

I'm sure you can find plenty of people that find Bryan's nice guy act a bit boring and bland -- but it's not the dominant view. Eli Drake's career is not done yet, but if he is remembered for having better charisma than Daniel Bryan, I will be extremely surprised.

This. They also think that these characters get over by losing. I still cannot work out why they did that Triple Threat Match at Clash of Champions. Why not just Charlotte vs. Sasha? It seems they wanted Charlotte to keep her winning streak in tact but didn't want Sasha to get pinned. That shows where Bayley fits in the scheme of things.

Bayley had to come up after Brooklyn II. She just had to. She was running thin down there, but they didn't need to jam her into the title picture right away. Maybe an angle with Dana first? They could have put her on SmackDown and advertised her on RAW, so that people wouldn't get upset if they saw Nia Jax, for example, confront Charlotte, while they only expected Bayley.

It's all been handled with complete disregard for Bayley, to be honest.

I don't know I just never found Bryan entertaining. Not even when he was with Kane. The fact that I didn't like him and they gave him a mega push just made me dislike the guy even more. Sucks as a GM in my opinion as well. People love him because they get to throw their hands up and scream yes. Nothing drew me to him to him so to me the guy has no charisma. I don't know where the Eli Drake comparison even came from, I guess just because I'm a fan of the guy.

SlickyTrickyDamon 10-06-2016 11:14 PM

THey didn't just say yes without being directed to. He had massive charisma to scream out Yes! Yes! Yes! I'm the World Heavyweight Champion! when he was a heel and it caught on.

Simple Fan 10-06-2016 11:35 PM

Didn't it start with No chants though. Or did he go from Yes to No back to Yes.

Yeah mate. I remember the hype surrounding him with respect to his success in OVW. I am unsure about the backstage politics that led to his "downfall" and eventual release from the company.

Started with YES chants, but he was still a heel so he didn't like the fans chanting YES, so he started chanting NO at them, which made the fans chant YES even more. When he turned face, he embraced the YES.
