Superman/Batman: Public Enemies - 10/10

Juan 10-07-2009 09:43 PM

Adventureland - 9/10

I really liked this movie. I was expecting a "Apatow style" comedy with outrageous humor, but it was a lot more subtle.

Jeritron 10-07-2009 11:22 PM

I heard its like a John Hughes movie

Juan 10-07-2009 11:28 PM

you know, now that i think about it, that sounds right

Juan 10-07-2009 11:28 PM

really good movie

Jeritron 10-07-2009 11:52 PM

I kind of view Kevin Smith and Judd Apatow movies as John Hughes movies with dirty language, though

Juan 10-07-2009 11:53 PM

that makes sense

Whats the statute of limitations on no remakes of Hughes' movies? I could see a remake of something in his memory..

Also..

Last House on the Left Remake 6/10 - quite, um..tame compared to the original though the rape scene on the unrated edition is still pretty hard to watch even compared to what was in the original.

Under Siege 2 - 4/10.

Came to the conclusion that Seagal movies are kind of boring....except Out for Justice.

Skippord 10-10-2009 01:03 AM

aren't all Seagal movies the exact same thing?

Great movie! Just noticed it's on Sky+ Anytime.

Couples Retreat - 7.5/10

All the funny parts are in the commercials. Kinda killed what could have been a really good movie.

Conversations With Other Women - 7/10

Very enjoyable, dunno. When I'm in the mood for a 'romance' kinda thing I really dig it, and this one was very spontaneous and believable, not full of overly explained, clunky dialogue.

Pocahontas - 7/10

:$

Yeah I fagged it up last night, sue me.

Yes, that's what makes them bigger classics than Casablanca. True, true!

Anvil: The Story of Anvil.

7/10 - great doco, like a real Spinal Tap.

But I am left with the feeling that it was more Mockumentary than documentary.

I bet this is what Downunder and Hero and Moonmax will be like in 10 years eh?

Downunder 10-14-2009 09:25 AM

YOUR Hero is already there -cause he's old and Canadian

Pavement: The Slow Century
I have been wanting to see this forever, and now that pavement is getting back together (in australia, england, and new york thus far) Pitchfork put it up on their tv site for this past week, for one week only.

7.9/10

I mean it's straightforward, does what it's supposed to and actually gets the band itself to tell their story.

Paranormal Activity

8.5./10

---

I woke up in the middle of the night last night and honestly looked around, it creeped me out that much, watch it and you will see why.

PorkSoda 10-19-2009 12:08 AM

Paranormal Activity....

Funny, I was reading the spoilers, explaining the whole movie in detail on the internet this morning, halfway through I got a little scared....I told myself I wasn't afraid as I was turning the lights on in the house....

I wanna go see it.

Requiem 10-19-2009 02:24 PM

Zombieland - 8/10 - Pretty funny, and I liked the way it was done.

The Man From Earth - 9/10 - Not an action movie.. not a thriller.. not even really a drama. All just dialogue between a group of people sitting in a room, telling a story and asking questions, but I really liked the topic and how they handled it. Hugely anti-religious, but whatever.

Observe and Report 4/10

I feel bad for liking Paul Blart more than this but Paul Blart was at least somewhat funny. There were like, two really good laughs total in O&R and the rest was just entirely stupid.

Now that's precise.

FearedSanctity 10-22-2009 02:17 AM

Saw VI - 8.5/10

Despite the story for the series probably not being thought out past the first movie, they do a really good job of making it all tie together. Ending was more predictable than past Saws, but decent nonetheless. Great message to this one, too.

Why should anyone get to decide who lives and who dies?

Downunder 10-22-2009 08:28 PM

Hitman

1/10

WHAT???

Ok I've never played the game, and I only watched this because of Timothy Olyphant, but what the hell was that?
