Joe West is a scourge upon humanity.

The Condor 09-06-2013 01:22 AM

Plus, Joba Chamberlain can fuck off once and for all.

Games like the Red Sux-Yanks games the last 2 nights are the reason a large amount of people dislike baseball. Exciting if you have a rooting interest, but long and boring in a lot of spots. That's why I praise NL West baseball so much. Give me some games under 3 hours.

Fucking h8 that the DBacks sucked me in early this year by pretending to be good when they are who I thought they were.

The Condor 09-09-2013 04:59 PM

Allegedly, the MLB season will be continuing until late October.

Corndad 09-09-2013 11:32 PM

Finally.... Win 82 for the Pirates!!!!

Corndad 09-09-2013 11:38 PM

Yeah. Gerrit Cole was the winning Pitcher tonight. That being said...

The last time #pirates reached 82 wins, Gerrit Cole was four days old.
— Rob Biertempfel (@BiertempfelTrib) September 10, 2013

Congrats to Corndad, parkmaina, and Schlomey. If I forgot any PBurgh fan posters, I apologize.

That's neat. They deserve it.

YOUR Hero 09-10-2013 10:55 AM

Jays AAA team with special appearances by Double E is looking pretty good.

RP 09-10-2013 11:00 AM

Is it 2014 yet?

Supreme Olajuwon 09-10-2013 11:20 AM

Reds win 6 of 7 from Cards/Dodgers, get shut out by the Cubs.

H8 baseball

ClockShot 09-10-2013 11:57 AM

So, I missed the game. I read on the Sportscenter ticker this morning that Girardi and Showalter had "heated words".

Something big happen last night during the Yankees/O's game? Where's droford with the scoop?

Innovator 09-10-2013 12:44 PM

Girardi thought the O's third base coach was giving location away to the hitter

Evil Vito 09-10-2013 01:23 PM

Aaaaand the Mets are off of WFAN for the first time since the station's inception in 1987. The Yankees are taking over.

Damn...that's gonna feel weird. It's just not gonna be the same driving home from Mets games and not hearing a Steve Somers monologue after the post game.

Bet Francesa loves this. He hates having his show cut short by an awful Mets team.

ClockShot 09-10-2013 05:04 PM

WFAN bought the radio rights? How much?

OssMan 09-10-2013 05:31 PM

GOOD EVENING TO YOU AND HOW YOU BE STEVE SOMERS HERE AND YOU THERE AT 3:47 AND 15 SECONDS IN THE MORNING ON TUESDAY OCTOBER 21ST TWO THOUSAND AND THIRTEEN

Want to have Soriano's babies.

Frank Drebin 09-11-2013 01:41 AM

Be careful what you wish for.

You might win a trip to the Arizona Fall League.

Skippord 09-11-2013 01:41 AM

I just watched the Rockies come back from 6 runs down in San Francisco

so that's something that I've never seen before

Frank Drebin 09-11-2013 01:47 AM

Almost like your attempted comeback on Monday night against me in fantasy. Not even a trade for AP could have saved you. :p

The Condor 09-11-2013 02:11 AM

I want Frank Drebin's babies

RoXer 09-11-2013 03:46 AM

Go Oakland!

Skippord 09-11-2013 04:11 AM

I've adopted Oakland as my back up team, so yes! Go Oakland!

And with that the champs are eliminated from the National League West competition. Magic number from total elimination is one. Mets season total elimination is two.

Totally Eliminated to Date:

NL: Brewers, Cubs, Marlins.

AL: White Sox, Houston.

DaveBrawl 09-11-2013 10:27 AM

So what you're saying is there is still a chance for Rocktober?

Not sure, but it's a multiyear agreement. Francesa confirmed it today. Mets are expected to announce their new radio home within 6 weeks, but really I can see them simply going to 880 AM where the Yankees are now. Basically just swapping stations.

I don't even think that much will change. The Mets announcers work for WFAN, but I'd imagine they'll be let out of their deals to follow the Mets to whatever station they're going to be on. The thing I will miss most is the jingle during games. This has been the jingle as long as I can remember, even when I was a little kid:

Yankees continue their Bataan Death March to the WildCard playoff game.

SlickyTrickyDamon 09-12-2013 12:07 AM

Grand Slam Mike Carp. Sox take four run lead going into the bottom of the 10th! Three outs away from a 9.5 game lead for the American League East over the Rays.
