Randy Orton's politics are seeping through more and more. I can imagine it's not earning him support in certain quarters, but you know Vince McMahon is a fan, and that sort of thing appeals to the core fan-base of WWE. I wonder if this affects Orton's direction?
|
Meh, not surprising. Orton's always been a piece of shit as a human being. Why would his politics be any different? I imagine he'll continue exactly where he is too, if not get a big push for it. Like Noid said Vince probably loves him for it.

Trump > Hiliary Cunton any day!

Yeah, I doubt it would affect things, but it's interesting to see him voicing himself so publicly.

I can imagine it's that fear. I think it's also just concern about how they appeal to fans. When you talk about politics you divide a room. Orton clearly doesn't give a fuck.
|
I've noticed that about Orton since he's come back. His promos are just so...relaxed. And not in a bad way. You can just tell he's got that top star comfort out there. He'll do and say what he wants. On screen, it makes him very endearing.

Broken Matt (and Brother Nero) vs. The Elite vs. New Day in a three way, interpromotional... twitter war.

According to the Observer, Cody Rhodes found a way around WWE's claim of the "Rhodes" name. WWE only prevented him from using it and not also his wife.
So if he ever has a mixed tag match with his wife, he can take the name as an implied last name since they'd be called "Cody & Brandi Rhodes". Same for using it whenever both are on the screen at the same time. Right now he only uses Cody for his actual ring name. |
Kind of silly really. The Ryback legally changing is name is pretty funny. Not like WWE is going to have another Ryback on someone with Rhodes as a last name. In Cody's case it probably be benefitial to WWE to just let him use the name so I'd he ever comes back the Cody Rhodes character is reestablished already.

I don't know why, but for some reason a Hogan vs. Del Rio -- you know, providing both men were in their prime -- actually appeals to me. The idea of a smug Del Rio kicking the crap out of Hogan has charm.

Yeah, that's basically it. But I guess if you are going to reveal yourself to be on one side or the other in wrestling, Republican is the way to go.
|
Yup. Might as well just tout scott walker too since he's the poster boy for anti union as they get. Saying that around Vince probably is good for a US title reign.

I think any combination of the Varsity Club, in their prime, could wipe the floor with American Alpha.
Actually, I'll go farther than that. Dr. Death could wipe the floor with American Alpha by himself. |

Historically speaking, before American Alpha, there was the World's Greatest Tag Team. Before the World's Greatest Tag Team, there was the Steiner Brothers. Before the Steiner Brothers, there was the Varsity Club (which Rick Steiner was a part of at one point). I should also point out that Varsity Club was absurdly over as heels. It was Sullivan's treatment of Rick Steiner that lead to him being as over as he was for the better part of 10 years. And they were just all around a better team (every variation). And the fact that you had some legit bad asses in the group at times with Steiner, Steve Williams, and later Dan Spivey... But yes, I'm just throwing out love for Varsity Club. |
Could be looking at a Styles vs Orton feud for the WWE title after No Mercy ppv since the sheets are teasing Ambrose is leaving to work on a new film for WWE Studios. Being teased he isn't returning till the Rumble at the earliest.
Cena's already expected to be gone till next year as well due to season 2 tapings for American Grit. |

Just leave Bray on main event from now on. It's fucking over. |

I was hoping that Wyatt would pin Orton at No Mercy, beat him in a Street Fight at Survivor Series, and then win a Cage Match or something at Roadblock. Then he might have been in prime position to be seen as credible enough to win the Royal Rumble in January. I'm not saying that he would win, or that he should win, but you could have him ready to go if you've got Brock and Cena tangled up elsewhere.
|
Seriously, when it comes to Bray, I don't think I've been as disappointed in how someone was booked, since Ultimo Dragon got jobbed to an entire cruiserweight division that couldn't even lace his boots.
|
Ultimo Dragon... :(
|
Yep. I never got over that one either.
|
I was so excited for Dragon coming in. I remember downloading a whole bunch of his matches and just having a marathon of him back in the day. A glorious man.

I should be happy for Harper getting a singles run -- he is tremendous -- but I do think there is a lot that can be done with The Wyatt Family as a team on SmackDown. But now that The Usos are heel and Slater/Rhyno are the babyface team, I guess that's a distant pipe-dream.
|
Those lucky people who have tickets to the Wednesday show are in for a treat with that Darren Young vs Titus O'Neil match.

Am I the only one hoping New Day keeps the belts at Clash of Champions? I'm not the biggest fan of the direction the act is going, but I'm also not the biggest fan of Gallows & Anderson as a team. Well, certainly not as working Tag Team Champions. I'd be fine if they were just muscle for a guy like Kevin Owens.
I'd much rather see New Day vs. Enzo & Cass than Gallows & Anderson vs. Enzo & Cass. |
