Has anyone here ever completed the challenge of getting a game winning killcam by dropping a crate on an enemy? That one seems like 1 in a billion.

D Mac 06-02-2010 04:02 AM

Almost got the Scar mastery. It would only be my 2nd mastery ever besides the ACR.

Yep, I have that challenge.

LoDownM 06-02-2010 01:42 PM

I never seem to get kill streak game winning kills anymore. I'll have a chopper or harrier up and with 2 kills left still manage to not get it.

El Fangel 06-02-2010 01:46 PM

Never got droppin crates :(

G 06-02-2010 02:06 PM

Do it the easy way

Savio 06-03-2010 12:06 AM

LoDownM 06-03-2010 12:09 AM

Easiest way I can think of is to do it in a private match with a friend.

D Mac 06-03-2010 05:43 AM

Yeah, I meant on a regular TDM without cheating.

The Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence map pack release time is noon EDT so there are still several hours to go therefore you can cook, clean the house, and change underwear because you’ll be playing the game until June 7th when the Douple XP will finally end.

D Mac 06-03-2010 02:39 PM

lol 1:30pm here and it's still not up. IW fails again.

I guess the easiest way to do it without cheat would be to call in an emergency air drop in groundwar on the map scrap yard.

Been up for hours. Just have to go to the games marketplace to get it instead of following the link in game to stop the servers being hammered.

I think S&D and FFA are my favs now. I love killing nuke boosters.......Saw an abundance of nuke boosters today. Grade schools must be getting out or something.

LoDownM 06-03-2010 06:44 PM

So pissed, 10-0, could just feel that it was gonna be a game were I got a nuke, fucked up on a ladder and got killed :(

D Mac 06-04-2010 07:22 AM

Its hard to believe a $70 game became a $100 with potential to become a $115, $130 or even a $145 game by years end.

Kalyx triaD 06-04-2010 05:43 PM

It can still be a 70$ game, just don't buy the DLC.

probably even less by years end when they release some GOTY edition.

Remember when Halo/Gears of War released maps for price, but would make them free after a certain period of time (3 or so months)? What happened to THAT business practice?

Kalyx triaD 06-04-2010 05:52 PM

Well Bungie would certainly like to make the Legendary Map Pack free but M$ ain't gonna let it happen (yet). Although ODST's second disc makes the digital map packs worthless, and awards those who waited in a way. Some games are extreme though...

Even up to the shut down of the original XBL network, some games still expected money for DLC (Star Wars Battlefront 2). Fucking kidding me? I think a year after DLC drops they should either slice the price or make it free altogether.

alvarado52 06-04-2010 05:59 PM

I just think Activision is kinda screwing people on these MW2 maps with not only their price, but with the fact that they dont really contain all 'new' maps.

Gears of War 2 came with a code that gave you 5 free throwback maps as DLC, and they were actually updated to fit into the overall time line of the game.

These MW2 maps are straight ports though, with little to no touch ups at all. And i dont wanna hear the 'well it takes time to port over the game code' etc etc, because clearly other companies have done this and given them free.

I havent and dont plan to. DLC is a bitch move in any aspect, I see the point in games like GH, RB or the such. But adding a few things to a game over and over and over at $15 bucks a pop is hateful.

I miss the good old days, when you bought a game, popped it in and thats what you had, you didnt have to buy addons/expansion packs and if you did it was very rarely.

COD4 is still retailing for $50 and the map packs as far as I know are still the same price.

That in and of itself is horrible.

I didnt have XBL when Halo/Gears came out but I wish I did not. That business practice cost them money, cant be making gamers happy when you have money to gouge.

I said this when the first map pack came out, people said that I was stupid for bitching about old maps being in the stimulus package.

When just like you said, there is nothing different. You are just taking MW2 to a COD4 map, I have seen gameplay on them and they dont look ANY different whatsoever.

Basically Activision charged you for 5 maps when you already played two of them likely HUNDREDS of times.

I wouldn't condemn DLC to that extent. I love the idea of new maps or modes coming along extending the game's life. The dark side is overpriced DLC, and shit that isn't even DLC but rather unlock codes for content on disc. Otherwise I like DLC when done right (Halo 2/3, Ubisoft games).

New maps is a good idea, but c'mon charging gamers the price of a decent Greatest Hits game to basically add almost nothing to the game is insulting.

Overpriced is right, I would be fine in paying an extra $5-10 when I got the game if it meant that all future DLC would be free. That would be an excellent compromise as it justify the extra charge, the companies still make their money (and sooner) and we still end up with the addons.

No idea about the Halo 2/3, Ubisoft stuff, care to elaborate for me?

Kalyx triaD 06-04-2010 06:54 PM

They had great DLC, reasonably priced, and actually added something (though Halo 3's Heroic Map Pack caused some drama).

D Mac 06-04-2010 07:11 PM

Well the DLC extends the life of the game IMO. Now I have 26 different maps to play on. Great variety and will keep me busy well into the release of Black Ops.

D Mac 06-04-2010 07:12 PM

Get a better job and you could afford it. :p
