According to Ryback, the main reason he left the WWE was due to them constantly lying to him when it came to his career's direction. Promised him a lot of things only to abruptly pull support and/or pushes when it got close to being delivered.

Got to the point, Ryback felt it was better to walk away from a $1.5 million offer than continue working for the WWE.

He did offer some praise for being the start of his wrestling career and giving him some good memories he had there.

He said that he was never the company's guy and wondered why they put the Intercontinental Championship on him in 2015. After winning the title, he was presented with a new contract offer. Reeves said he wasn’t happy with the offer considering what he had done for the company.

But Reeves said he didn't leave because of monetary value of the offer. "Not about a money issue, just so everybody knows, I walked away from the WWE, the contract offer that I walked away from was a three-year $1.5 million contract.” Reeves said.

Reeves mentioned that there were other things he wasn't happy about. He said that there were merchandising opportunities that didn’t pan out and noted how expensive travel expenses were, saying the way professional wrestling has always done things isn’t always right.

Reeves said that he had been lied to at many times in his career about booking and other opportunities. He claimed that Vince McMahon told him that he would be the number one heel in the company and have the title put on him if he listened to McMahon and read his promos as they were scripted. Reeves also claimed that he was supposed to face AJ Styles at WrestleMania 32, with McMahon telling him that he would "squash that little twerp."

That changed and Reeves would go on to face Kalisto on the WrestleMania 32 kickoff show. He said that he was set to sign a new contract but sent a revised offer to the company after not being happy about how he was handled.

On his last day at television, Reeves said he knew that WWE wasn't going to accept the revised offer and thought the booking of the show was intended to make him look bad before he left. He claimed he told Mark Carano to take him off television, but didn't talk to McMahon because he had been lied to too many times before ...

He claimed that he was offered magazine covers but WWE wouldn't let him do them despite allowing other talent to. He said that WWE wanted Roman Reigns to appear on a cover instead of him at one point.

Read that earlier today and I don't blame him. Hope he does well in his own. Really think he would be a huge star in NJPW. Could be an instant IWGP Intercontinental title contender and possibly Heavyweight down the line. Feel like they would eat up face Ryborg in Japan.

Fignuts 08-29-2016 07:18 PM

Given how things turned out, it was probably the right decision to not squash AJ. Everything else sounds pretty shitty.

Mr. Nerfect 08-30-2016 06:11 AM

I'm not the biggest Ryback fan, but I think you have to objectively question how the company used him.

Mr. Nerfect 08-30-2016 06:12 AM

Ryborg should go to TNA and DELETE Matt Hardy.

Ryback should train in MMA for two years and then face CM Punk in a real fight.

People lighting up jim cornette's twitter about kevin owens.

It's like they never actually listened to what his problem was in the first place.

Did they have beef for something? I've got no idea.

Fignuts 08-30-2016 07:38 PM

Owens was apparently very stubborn and difficult to work with in ROH. He also was in worse shape back then too, and cornette kept trying to get him to put down the cheeseburger and pick up some weights.

Cornette said that he'll never be successful unless he changes those aspects. Which he clearly did.

He also criticized owens ring attire, but I can't really blame him. I never thought I'd see a guy who dresses like a yard tard as champ either, but here we are.

Emperor Smeat 08-30-2016 07:59 PM

Cornette's problem is he has a really bad way of giving advice or running things that it always ends up pissing whoever he gives it to. Even if the advice has some merit to it, it comes off more as insulting than constructive just because of his style. Its a big reason why every company he's ever worked for, he ends up burning bridges really quickly.

Came into the entire set of 1985 Prime Time Wrestling with Jack Reynolds and Jesse Ventura hosting. Very hard to come by. Got about 20 plus hours of wrestling to watch.

Haven't done one of these in a while

ECW did you know: The Dudleyz didn't leave ECW because they weren't offered more money in 1999. They were essentially forced to. You might remember Heatwave 99 where D-Von and especially Bubba cut a ridiculous promo on the fans before the match. Bubba told an older female that she taught her daughter how to suck dick, among other things. Anyways, the cable companies told Paul Heyman that the Dudleyz were banned from appearing on ECW ppv and they'd drop them if they did.

So the Dudleyz left for the WWF.

owenbrown 08-30-2016 10:11 PM

Did these dumbass cable companies not know what they were getting into when they were broadcasting an ECW PAY PER VIEW?!

Bad News Gertner 08-30-2016 10:17 PM

Lol so there's "House Show Bubba" and there's "PPV Bubba".
House Show Bubba showed up on PPV. House Show Bubba is WAY more vulgar than the cable companies had probably ever seen.

Damian Rey 2.0 08-30-2016 10:26 PM

Funny you mention the promo Gerty, as it was recently posted somewhere around here.

Do people have problem with Samoa Joe's attire? The only difference is he doesn't wear a shirt

In a way, not surprised considering cable companies were very wary to begin with about carrying ECW stuff because of the promotion's rep.

Think Heyman made a few references or implied at how vulgar the Dudleys could get with the insults on the Rise & Fall of ECW dvd.

Question.... who were the dumbass parents that brought their young kids to an ECW show?! I noticed them in the front fucking row while Joel Gertner was talking. That had to been an awkward as fuck car ride home.

Bad News Gertner 08-30-2016 11:10 PM

Check out the Best of the Dudleyz released by ECW. There's footage from a House Show where some kid dropped from the balcony of the Hammerstein Ballroom to get at the Dudleyz. Bubba was losing his shit on the fans. It was amazing.

My favorite Santino moment is still when he was cutting a promo about how Stone Cold wasn't going to show up that night.

"There is not going to be a can of the ass whip being opened. Nobody is going to stomp a mud pie. JR is not going to reach the point of orgasm."

Fucking this. Funny how people still can't actually listen to the words Cornette actually says. I heard an interview with this guy Sam Roberts, and Cornette actually tells him exactly what he meant, and then Roberts is like "It's funny how Cornette has twisted this to fit his..." HOLY SHIT! Are people really that fucking dumb?

One looked like a bum, the other looked like a fighter.

Fignuts 08-31-2016 02:07 AM

Yeah, Samoa Joe wears kickboxer shorts which fit with his gimmick. I could pick up the same shorts owens wears for 8 bucks at walmart.

Honestly, I've gotten used to it, and I don't really care anymore, so whatever.
