Brie Larson filming Captain Marvel in a different colored suit than what many would expect:

Destor 01-25-2018 11:14 PM

So bad...but set photos arent always informative

Fignuts 01-25-2018 11:16 PM

Those colors do kind of fall in line with Kree colors, so it's likely something to do with that and not the main costume.

Destor 01-25-2018 11:17 PM

My first thoughts as well but its how poorly it fits that makes me laugh

Fignuts 01-25-2018 11:20 PM

True but like you said...set photos.

Fignuts 01-25-2018 11:21 PM

I imagine most costumes are like that and not as tight as they appear to be in thd film, otherwise the actors would probably rip them open just grabbing their latte.

Destor 01-25-2018 11:24 PM

Yeah im not full blown shitting on it. Its a set photo not an a bomb. No reason to panic. But its looks sooooo bad there lol

Ill reserve judgement until something more substantial is released

Kalyx triaD 01-26-2018 12:28 AM

Like the actual movie?

Destor 01-26-2018 01:44 AM

No, official stills, trailers etc

Destor 01-26-2018 01:45 AM

Dont need to watch a movie to know the costume is bad. Not even sure how that logic tracks at all

Kalyx triaD 01-26-2018 02:50 AM

Cause trailers and stills are cut from the movie?

Destor 01-26-2018 03:49 AM

As long as your arent implying i need 120+ min to form an opinion on a costume sure. Stills are movies.

Kalyx triaD 01-26-2018 05:09 AM

Just one scene really.

Kalyx triaD 02-08-2018 01:32 PM

Marvel Studios had a big bash that had everybody from every movie and it looked crazy.

I think Cap 3 will be Civil War. Marvel Studios prez says that his idea for Cap 3 was something he wanted to do for a decade (as in before Cap had a movie franchise, or that there was even an MCU - but Civil War was still reverberating in the 616). He hints that it will be a game changer in the vein of Winter Soldier.

If this pans out, I would have expected Avengers 3 to be Civil War, but it seems Thanos is all over that. Now that I think about it, Civil War is firmly a Cap led thing (in that his side was more sympathetic). It would also be great for Thanos to strike after something so messy topples the heroes of Earth.

There's also word that Drax would show up in Avengers 3, sure.

Aha

Sixx 06-04-2018 07:29 PM

You win a cookie.

RP 06-04-2018 09:50 PM

I'm trying to figure out this look Bobby Lashley is trying to pull off right now.

Sixx 06-04-2018 09:54 PM

What look?

Kalyx triaD 06-04-2018 11:32 PM

Potentially has a legally safe move depending on the details of the final deal, the (potentially final) FoX-Men move will NOT have 'X-Men' in the title. Instead going by Dark Phoenix, with the X emphasized in the logo ("Dark Phoeni(x)").

There is a POSSIBILITY that some remnants of FoX-Men other than Deadpool can still continue on, with only certain characters actually being integrated into the MCU (if the deal goes as planned, and even then after 2019-20 at the earliest since Phase 4 is pretty much set).

Spidey's sub-series is being speculated to build up the Sinister Six - who may get a push as big MCU baddies rather than strictly being a Spidey problem. At least ONE source in the wild believes Spidey's corner of the MCU wipl grow as its own sandbox (like the Guardians going more cosmic in Vol3). While I've only seen one ditzy source say this, other regular (and frankly reliable) sources all agree Jessica fucking Drew the Spider-Woman will be introduced in Spidey 2. If this is the case along with the potential for Miles and Gwen (European now) - that one source may be on to something. The current approach to female characters will likely not have Gwen waiting to fall to her death, instead opting for the Spider-Gwen or even Gwenpool inspired versions of the character. The last parts about Gwen is my personal speculation, tho.

On Jessica Drew; word is she'll be her highly deadly agent self. I wonder if she'll be a SHIELD alum. Also basically every source agrees that Mysterio is almost certainly the villain - who's working for a "surprise" baddie. If it's a Sinister Six thing (Oct or Electro), that wouldn't be a surprise at all... though it fits with that one beat about the villain team building up.

But this is taking place in Europe (at least in part), and what villain is across the Atlantic that would make us lose our shit..?

Anyway this next phase is the first with neither Cap, Iron Man, or Thor movie. That's not to say it won't happen.

On the TV front Daredevil S3 wrapped, Punisher S2 is filming now, Luck Cage is coming next, and wouldn't you know - Kristen Ritter ALSO thinks Jones was a drag and wants her to lighten up. Seems some of us weren't crazy after all.

Agents of SHIELD, by the grace of god, lives on for a 6th season. It'll be a mini-season has officially reported and will premier nearly a year from NOW rather than the Fall. Word is they kinda have to address not only their finale, but the Snappening as well.

Kevin Fiege and the Russos have IN FACT seriously considered Luke Cage lending a hand in the New York battle in Infinity War. But a short cameo wouldn't satisfy fans (their words) nor do they want the general audience to feel like the Netflix heroes are requisite viewing.

The Silver Sable/Black Cat movie is shelved for now. Sony wants to rewrite it. I'm gonna call it canceled.

RP 06-05-2018 03:04 PM

Why did the Asguardian vault have a fake replica of the Infinity Guantlet berfore Thanos made the Infinity Guantlet a thing??

It's shown and potrayed as a fake in Thor Ragnorak.

Lock Jaw 06-05-2018 04:14 PM

Because they put in an Easter egg but then had to undo it

Lock Jaw 06-28-2018 02:12 AM

Sony making a "Morbius" movie for some reason. Jared Leto has been cast to star.

Sixx 06-28-2018 02:33 AM

Noone even knows who Morbius is.

Meh.

Kalyx triaD 06-28-2018 02:46 AM

Sony is so silly.

Destor 06-28-2018 11:42 AM

Morbius I think would atleast be a compelling story

Lock Jaw 06-28-2018 12:51 PM

Destor 06-28-2018 12:52 PM

I hope he sparkles

Fignuts 06-28-2018 08:47 PM

We're living in a world where Guardians of the galaxy and Ant-man are huge blockbusters.

I wouldn't doubt the viability of any character at this point.

Kalyx triaD 06-28-2018 09:41 PM

I'm not doubting *Marvel Studios* making a star out of anybody. It's Sony.

slik 07-05-2018 08:04 AM

I really enjoyed the 1st two issues of 'The Immortal Hulk'

cool horror vibe and very well written.

Lock Jaw 07-05-2018 01:27 PM

Haven't read any Marvel comics in years...... several reboots/relaunches/rebrandings behind by now......

slik 07-05-2018 03:49 PM

I will read one every once and a while...I tried to read the "Monsters Unleashed" event series but it 'fell apart' halfway through...before that I think the last one I read was a Hyperion miniseries but it was 'just ok'....I decided to read Immortal Hulk b/c I heard it had 'a horror feel'

slik 07-06-2018 08:42 PM

Steve Ditko has passed away.

Shadow 07-07-2018 03:27 PM

Stan Lee can't be far behind.

RP 08-01-2018 01:53 PM

When Black Panther Movie came out i was lit when i went to see it. I just bought the Blu Ray and damn.. this is one of the best movies Marvel has made for sure.

Fignuts 08-05-2018 03:11 AM

The origin of the symbiotes story going on in Venom right now, is rad as fuck and even has ties to Gor the God butcher.

Kalyx triaD 08-05-2018 03:46 AM

Jilted lover weapon stuff.

SPOILER: show
Turns out Gor's weapon, All Black the Necrosword, was one of the earliest symbiotes that this god forged into a weapon.

If you go back and look at God of Thunder it really does have symbiote properties.

You have to accept the inevitability of death of those we love.

Lock Jaw 08-09-2018 04:00 PM

Sony now has reportedly shelved it's "Silver & Black" movie, which was to star Silver Sable and Black Cat......

In favour of both of them now getting their own solo movies instead.

Kalyx triaD 08-09-2018 04:40 PM

Terrible.

Lock Jaw 08-09-2018 04:58 PM

Sony also possibly developing movies for Silk, Kraven the Hunter, Jackpot (who I vaguely remember from the early Brand New Day Spider-Man), and Nightwatch (who I have never heard of).

The internal name for it all is "Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters" or SUMC for short.

Fignuts 08-09-2018 05:38 PM

Silk is cool. Dunno about the rest though.

ClockShot 08-09-2018 08:19 PM

Aside from Kraven, that's a lousy group of characters Sony is going to be making movies with.

Destor 08-09-2018 09:25 PM

Silk and Kraven are awesome. Dont want a silk film tho

Lock Jaw 08-09-2018 09:31 PM

What about a slik movie

Destor 08-09-2018 10:04 PM

He was a good manager but hes gotta be pushing 80

Shadow 08-10-2018 10:09 AM

Wrong Silk.

My fear is a few of those are really really in need of Spider-Man to make sense. Silk especially needs him. But we'll see what happens.

RP 08-15-2018 12:57 PM

Anyone reading X-Men Red and if so, whats the difference between X-Men Red and X-Men Blue. I might start reading Blue also. I'm 3 issues into Red atm and i really like it.

Destor 08-15-2018 01:09 PM

its same except you have to trade like 3 pokemon with your friends.

RP 08-15-2018 01:20 PM

Well, Gambit just showed up in X-Men Red and i'm hyped. Gambit is my fav.

RP 08-15-2018 01:20 PM

Naturally, Gambit got someone killed. That's why I like him.

Kalyx triaD 09-06-2018 02:34 PM

Captain Marvel is half Kree in the MCU. This is not treated as a big reveal since the movie starts with this as basic knowledge. Like Spider-Man it's not a full on origin story.

Fignuts 09-06-2018 02:52 PM

Pretty sure she's part kree in the comics too, so not surprising.

Kalyx triaD 09-06-2018 06:56 PM

I didn't think she was a half breed.

Lock Jaw 09-06-2018 08:30 PM

I think she started off human, but then Kree Captain Mar-Vell gave her some of his DNA or something making her a half breed.

Kalyx triaD 09-06-2018 08:36 PM

That's the origin I know. I don't think most people would consider that a half-breed situation. It's like saying Peter Parker is half-spider.

Lock Jaw 09-06-2018 08:41 PM

That's the "Spider" part in "Spider-Man".

Kalyx triaD 09-06-2018 08:44 PM

It's a name, not a taxinom.

Lock Jaw 09-06-2018 08:46 PM

YOU DON'T KNOW.

This is uncharted realms of genetic editing to create new and fantastic creatures!

Kalyx triaD 09-06-2018 09:22 PM

I suppose that's true.

Fignuts 09-11-2018 03:18 AM

God the new Venom comic is good. So fucking good.

I haven't given a shit about venom since the 90's buy I'm hooked on this.

Lock Jaw 09-18-2018 09:49 PM

New MCU TV shows in early development for Disney's new streaming service include "Scarlet Witch" and "Loki"

Kalyx triaD 09-18-2018 09:53 PM

Wait... these are 'MCU' shows? Olsen and Hiddleson would be involved?

Kalyx triaD 09-18-2018 09:56 PM

Holy shit that would in fact be the case. Dick Erect Protocol Initiated.

Shadow 09-19-2018 06:43 PM

I'm kinda for this. Gives a chance to showcase people who could actually support an entire movie but don't have the budget for.

*coughHulkcough*

Kalyx triaD 09-19-2018 07:49 PM

Also it's the next step from the cool One Shot short films they did during Phase 1.

Blonde Moment 09-23-2018 11:31 AM

Teen Loki with Tom Hiddleston playing a Killraven type role as the Loki we all love.
Teen Loki is the piece of himself that the adult kept hidden incase one of his plans backfired and someone manages to kill him.

Kalyx triaD 09-23-2018 01:23 PM

That could work.

Blonde Moment 09-23-2018 09:43 PM

Will never happen but I feel it's very Loki like and has great potential to fail in a spectacular and entertaining manner which is also very loki like

Kalyx triaD 09-23-2018 10:04 PM

Just the idea of a guy like Loki mentoring a young magic clone of himself is pretty cool.

Shadow 09-24-2018 04:30 PM

Wonder how old the kid who played Child Loki in Thor is right now.

Lock Jaw 09-27-2018 09:50 PM

The long gestating Gambit film is now said to have a "romantic or sex comedy" vibe

Kalyx triaD 09-27-2018 10:14 PM

It has a Silver Sable & Black Cat vibe because it's not happening.

Rammsteinmad 09-28-2018 07:58 AM

Haha Kalyx.

Does anyone really care about a Gambit film being made anymore?

Fignuts 09-28-2018 03:49 PM

I fucking hate gambit. Always have.

Destor 09-28-2018 05:38 PM

Can i masturbate to it?

Kalyx triaD 10-05-2018 03:47 AM

Avengers 4 title is heavily rumored to be...

SPOILER: show
Avengers: Annihilation

XL 10-05-2018 06:06 AM

Oh.

Sixx 10-05-2018 08:09 AM

That's weird.

Fignuts 10-05-2018 01:00 PM

Right?

I mean unless annihilus is gonna be in it.

Fignuts 10-05-2018 01:03 PM

That would actually make sense though. The universe losing half its population would also make it weaker. Annihilus takes the opportunity to invade, and now Thanos enters an uneasy alliance with the avengers to clean up his mess just like in the end of infinity gauntlet

Fignuts 10-05-2018 01:04 PM

Probably not any of that though.

Kalyx triaD 10-05-2018 04:07 PM

I rather it be Endgame.

ClockShot 10-05-2018 04:33 PM

Need something more original.

"Endgame" and "Annihilation" have been done to death.

Kalyx triaD 10-05-2018 06:03 PM

Not in comic movies.

I like where you're going with this. I'm not sure it's not this.

RP 10-06-2018 12:56 AM

I think it should be called Avengers 4 : Hero

Especially if...
SPOILER: show
Captain America is going to die.

It is extremely unlikely Evans would be allowed to telegraph a major death that obviously.

Next Marvel character to get big screen treatment, along w/ The Eternals, is Shang-Chi (I'm not familiar w/ this character at all...yet):

http://collider.com/shang-chi-movie-marvel-studios/

Quote:

Marvel Studios is fast-tracking an adaptation of the Shang-Chi comics character for a feature film franchise, which will mark the studio’s first Asian protagonist. Asian-American Dave Callaham, whose credits range from The Expendables to creating the TV series Jean-Claude Van Johnson to co-writing Wonder Woman 1984, has been tapped to write the screenplay. Marvel is also reportedly already looking at a number of Asian and Asian-American directors who could take the helm, looking towards Black Panther as the model.

Sixx 12-03-2018 02:48 PM

But why?

I don't see too many people hitting the theaters to see Shang Chi.

Lock Jaw 12-03-2018 02:57 PM

Just read a bunch on Shang-Chi the other day randomly.....

Was created because Marvel got the license to the Fu Manchu character, so they made Shang-Chi his son who fought against his dad's evil plans..... Marvel then eventually lost the Fu Manchu license and referred to him only as "Shang-Chi's dad" before making up a new name for him in recent years....
