I'm done here.

There are no armor perks anymore so this is a moot point. And I never thought they were as big of a deal as otherrs did anyway. What buffers are you talking about? I successfuly flank people all the time. By myself even. Quote:
Quote:
Perks make you think about every action you take. They force you to anticipate your opponent's actions, and devise ways of countering them. Good cod's have no wasted movement. |
If one more person on my team uses a UAV, when the other team has already put up a counter uav, I'm gonna scream.
|
Except we weren't running around all willy nilly looking for dots on a radar.
Like I said, I'm done. Enjoy the game. |
And I said most people. Not all.
|
Matter fact, fuck it:
- All this shit about how I don't like Perks because I'm not good at it? Fuck off. I've been managing buffers since before some of you bought your own videogames. That I wouldn't be able to manage special buffers in an FPS is absurd, but for reason I couldn't demonstrate here without a time machine. That also records video. Do not make this about my skill. It's off subject and it's false as fuck anyway. - Perks makes a perfectly fine shooting game like MW2 more tactical the way Soulcalibur 4's Special Vs. Mode is more tactical with buffer items. In that it forces you to use something lest you fall victim to it when others use it. This isn't tactics, it's an exploitation arms race. Yeah, Special Mode on Soulcalibur sucks ass too. - It's telling that with a choice to play the game with or without Perks, where the latter has you relying on your own instincts/planning/execution - you guys choose buffers that increase chance of success. It falls in line with the Playing To Win philosophy - coined by Street Fighter champ David Sirlin - who advocates the use of exploits and glitches to win. And an exploit is an exploit whether it's an official feature or not. This shit would, and maybe should, lead to me facing off with some of you chaps on both terms. But to what end? I mean... I've played CoD4 with Perks and fared well. I 'got it', I just didn't agree with the design philosophy. I got shit for it back then from you guys and here we are again. So if your conclusion is "Kalyx sucks at MW2", prove it. Betting you can't, which would lead to me being called a game/FPS-freak/nerd. And if I lose, in either style of play, I'd get shit. But really, don't say I suck without watching me play or playing me. Get that shit outta here. |
Quote:
|
Yeah, ftr I never brought up your skill at all.
|
Yeah, and you said yourself that you fare well, and that saying you suck is bullshit.
Fact is good fps players will always do better than bad fps players. Even if the bad player has a stacked loadout against a good player without any good perks. None of them effect the game enough to downplay actual skill. They just offer different strategies, and ways of playing the game. |

And Jesus man, of course it changes outcomes. It's like if I was sneaking up on a guy and he turned and killed me with his rifle? WTF? I was expecting to kill him and he goes and changes that? FUCK INFINITY WARD AND THEIR WEAPON BULLSHIT. Quote:

As for the underlying engine bit, come on. Games are supposed to be innovative. If the underlying engine is always the same, what's the point in playing different games? Quote:

Yeah I finally got heartbeat sensor with silencer thanks to Bling, Coldblooded, and Ninja, Hardcore is now fun.
Also, I saw some dude at level 70 already. WTF, did he play it 3 days straight since midnight launch? |
I had fun with it, and I only have a silencer for my rpd.
Although s&d s a little too slow and methodical for my taste. |
They need Hardcore Free For All.
|
Or other hardcore objective games without the whole no respwn thing.

Played a bit of online action last night and today. Not very good at it, when I see someone I start firing all over the place and they just turn and nail me in the head. I could get obsessed with getting good at it like I did with Killzone 2 for a while earlier this year.
Also similarly to Killzone 2 I might play the single player for about half an hour then forget about it. |
wow the prison mission was awesome. the extraction was pretty cool. the shower looked a lot like that part from the rock.
|
Finished the campaign on Veteran last night and all I gotta say is, fuck driving boats. Great story though. Also had no idea Lance Henrikson was the voice of Shepard. Now to work on the pain in the ass that is SpecOps. I'm looking for a co-op partner if anyone is intrested?

Kalyx, I was planning on making different game modes for that tourney.
If I do like 1 month of a "No Perks" kind of mode, would you be in? |
Some bastard dropped a nuke when I was playing it earlier. Game over. Fuck that.
|
Finished off campaign but have yet to get a game online. anyone else having difficulties connecting?

I'm still on Act 2 of campaign. Playing on regular. I'm stretching it out. After I beat it I'll try it on Hardened and then the highest level.

So is the higher levels of Spec Ops pretty crazy? I only unlocked Bravo and haven't tried it yet.
|
Quote:
|
Yeah, I've unlocked bravo and charlie and they are both really fun.
|
I'm going down to my folks tomorrow and my nephew is going to be there with his console and this. My folks don't have internet, and there is no system link in Special Ops, only split screen. That sucks.

Spec-Ops is the soul of this game. Love it much. Unlocked Charlie just now. Doing everything on Veteran. Pretty tough.
|
God damn I love you but shut the fuck up Kalyx.
|
|
Fucking hell. The one time I've seen an entire team play smart and stay inside while a gunship is in the air, was when I HAD THE GUNSHIP. Didn't get one damned kill with it. So dissapointing.
On a lighter note, I'm loving capture the flag in this. |
Got my first 50+ kill game today.
|
Never gotten 50 kills. 48 is my highest.

Isn't MW2 free this weekend for silver member anyway? I think if you check the dashboard someone is promoting a free weekend of gold also. But you're leveling up so obviously your somehow playing online, right? |
|
Heartbeat sensor is fecking amazing, lash bling on with that and the silencer add scrambler and stopping power and in business

Maybe one of the nerdier nerds can confirm this but does Cyclops do the voice for the Army Rangers?

If gaz was ghost they would have revealed it at some point.
It's time to move on, roxer. I know it's hard but gaz isn't coming back. We're all here for your support tho. |
Discover the background of Ghost in Modern Warfare 2: Ghost from Wildstorm
November 12, 2:15 PMGraphic Novel ExaminerKevin Smith Yesterday saw the release of the first issue of Modern Warfare 2: Ghost, a new six-issue mini-series coinciding with Tuesday’s release of the wildly anticipated video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. A first-person shooter developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision, Modern Warfare 2 is the next installment in the popular Call of Duty franchise, and a direct sequel to Call of Duty 4. Expanding upon the background of characters featured in the game, the comic focuses on Sergeant Simon Riley, codenamed Ghost, a member of an elite, multinational commando unit codenamed Task Force 141. While gamers are not in direct control of Ghost, he makes numerous appearances in the game, and is a central character involved with the progression of the storyline. Throughout the course of the comic published by Wildstorm, fans of the character will gain deeper insight into the mysteries surrounding the standout visual character from the game, and discover the origins of his skull decorated ski mask as well as the man behind it. Written by Eisner Award-winning creator David Lapham, whose previous credits include his creator owned series Stray Bullets and a stint on Detective Comics, with art by Kevin West (Guardians of the Galaxy, Prime), the comic promises to retain the realistic experiences of warfare depicted in the game, as well as its distinct vision . Wildstorm has had success with other popular licensed video game properties such as World of Warcraft, Resident Evil, and Gears of War, and if sales bode well, fans can surely expect future installments in the Call of Duty series. http://www.examiner.com/x-3094-Graph...rom-Wildstorm# Simon Riley :( |
Maybe Gaz changed his name
|
Trivia
* If you open the .iwd files on the main folder of the game you can see one folder called Airplane and a file saying Gaz. The voice is the same we can hear when the Mile High Club mission is loading. You can also hear a similar voice to Gaz's during "Mile High Club". * Gaz's signature weapon is a G36C with a Red Dot Sight. * Gaz is the name of a Russian vehicle. * Gaz is the SAS announcer in Multiplayer. * The IMDB (Internet Movie Database) says that the voice actor for Gaz in Call of Duty 4, Craig Fairbrass, provides the voice acting for "Ghost", this is most likely the callsign/codename for Gaz's replacement * Some people believe that the character Ghost from Modern Warfare 2 is Gaz, and that he wears the mask to cover up the injuries gained at the end of Game Over . This is highly unlikely because Gaz is shot at the top of his head at point blank range with a .50 round. * The name Gaz could be a reference to Gaz Hunter (aka Bravo Two Zero) who happens to be in the real S.A.S. * Gaz is a word in French. In English, gaz mean gas. |

That's you Fignuts.
How the fuck do people get massive kill streaks? Most I've got is 5 I think. There's always some bellend sneaking up behind you. |
Also, hate tossers on this who just play the game exactly the same no matter what the game is. People hiding in houses and sniping for Capture the Flag, for example.
|
Yeah, had a frustrating CTF with shit like that.
|
If you can get 5 kills, and then manage to take out more than one person with the predator missile, you can call in a harrier, which gets you a lot of kills in a hurry.
