I wanna see Ohno vs Barrett....elbow vs elbow. Good ol fight.

Volare 11-09-2012 02:31 AM

I like this announcer...alot more feeling in it.

Two questions:

Is NXT it's own universe (no pun intended)? I mean, I get the "tapings happened already" thing, but it seems kinda weird to have Vickie stir shit up with Cena/AJ over fraternizing, then turn around and try to recruit Big E Langston because she's "a cougar looking for men for [her] stable." Also, 2/3rds of what is now 3MB are in drastically different roles- Even when Jinder was flying solo (well, milling around) and got steamrolled by Ryback, he has consistantly been like THE biggest threat to Seth's championship. Drew Mac is a very over tweener in spite of being a clearly established heel who just doesn't get much TV time outside of NXT- but while IN NXT, he doesn't exactly downplay or redirect his positive reactions by turning on the crowd. Is this going to keep happening here?

Is it a requirement for hobo beards to appear on the show?

They tape a bunch of episodes in advance. Pretty sure 3MB wasn't created then.

I kind of think that NXT is "non-canon," so to speak.

Nah, Cottonwood chose to leave the WWE a few months back, I think. Since that I've been saying that Luke Harper should be associated with Bray Wyatt, so I kind of marked when Harper came out. I have to admit that I was not too impressed with his showing here. He didn't suck, and I hope I will grow to like Harper, but I was far more entertained by Wyatt's mic work than Harper's ring work.

I've also never been a big fan of the Boss Man Slam as a finisher.

Mr. Nerfect 11-09-2012 12:44 PM

Ohno vs. Barreta was amazing, and I really want to see a rubber match between the two. Ohno's actually feuding with two people at the moment, and that's pretty cool with me.

Big E. Langston is so much more interesting to me than Ryback. I think it's because he doesn't do the exact same thing every week. We didn't really get to see much out of Alberto Del Rio's little brother -- who reminds me of a cross between Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez -- which is kind of creepy.

I liked the Fatal 4 Way being elimination rules, but I don't really agree with the booking of it. I get that they want Bo Dallas to get over, but he's not, and it comes off as really awkward. The dude should probably be a heel and worshipping his brother as the next member of the "Wyatt Family."

Poit 11-09-2012 02:29 PM

The strangest thing I noticed about the main event was that at one point, someone broke up a pin. Why would you do that during an elimination match?

Vastardikai 11-09-2012 02:48 PM

ego, wanting to be the person to say that you eliminated that guy?

Lock Jaw 11-09-2012 02:50 PM

Skippord 11-09-2012 03:46 PM

what the fuck was that spear Bo Dallas

Skippord 11-09-2012 03:47 PM

that goes for both of the spears

Emperor Smeat 11-09-2012 04:45 PM

Bray Wyatt's return was pretty great. Also nice of him to find a local hobo to beat up someone for him.

Mr. Nerfect 11-09-2012 11:34 PM

I still really want to see a Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt feud, with Wyatt bringing "justice" upon Orton for all his wrong-doings over the years (and a throw-back to when Orton punted him in the head). All Wyatt would need to do is hang with Orton for maybe twelve minutes before it looks like Orton is going to win. Then Luke Harper attacks causing the DQ. At the next PPV, have them fight in a Steel Cage Match, and let the depravity of Wyatt's character really come out. Orton can bust him open and Wyatt can get excited at the sight of his own blood, etc. Have Wyatt manage to crawl out of the cage door after continously provoking Orton into staying and fighting to win the match.

The dude is so young, he could be an awesome heel for years to come for the company.

Mr. Nerfect 11-09-2012 11:37 PM

Jason Jordan has got energy and a good look. I kind of wish his team with Mike Dalton was still going (and it probably will resume randomly on-and-off for a while). Jordan & Dalton could also pick up "Emma" as a valet for their team, although I'd change her name to "Melissa Storm" ("Mel Storm" will ring with Australian fans, and it'd be a throwback to her training with Lance Storm). Why not call them "The Thrillseekers," as well? They could be a nice little babyface team.

Roman Reigns' music doesn't seem to fit the gimmick. Also, I can't help but think that he'd be better off working babyface. He would probably work better with Bo Dallas' current shtick than Bo Dallas does.

Fignuts 11-10-2012 12:00 AM

Langston is like Ryblack.

Vastardikai 11-10-2012 12:04 AM

5 count? Is Big E trying to be King Kong Bundy? Impressive, though.

One of the big things going for Luke Harper is that he doesn't have to really change his style much.

Skippord 11-10-2012 01:51 AM

seriously how shitty were those Bo Dallas spears?

I swear Bray Wyatt absorbed all the talent in that family

Mr. Nerfect 11-10-2012 02:02 AM

To be fair, Bray Wyatt might come off as shitty if he were trying to be an "all-American good ol' boy" babyface, too. Bo has got the hard job of being a bland babyface.

Fignuts 11-10-2012 02:04 AM

Bo Dallas looks like an ugly chick.

He's like skinnier Takeshi Morishima.

Fignuts 11-10-2012 02:17 AM

Kassius Ohno could be amazing, but dude needs to bulk up. He's got a good frame, and actually with his hard hitting moveset, and epic hair and beard combo, he almost reminds me of Bruiser Brody.

Needs to pack on some muscle though, cause his physique is just really nonthreatening.

Really don't know why they are so high on the Rhode Scholars, when they have two far more interesting teams in The Usos and Ascension. Rhode Scholars just aren't that interesting as a team. They are just two guys thrown together as opposed to an actual tag team. And there's no one really like The Usos or Ascension in the WWE right now. I guess there is no one really like Sandow either, but Cody is generic as hell.

Speaking of generic, I can't believe McGillicutty is Curt Henning's son, because he is probably the most boring guy in the company. He's like WCW Saturday Night jobber material. Even if they actually gavr him some sort of gimmick, I don't see him having the talent to get over with it.

Cesaro vs Kidd was great. Too bad Kidd's mic skills suck. Still not feeling Cesaro. His matches and in ring ability are fantastic. Love the remixed malenko theme too. But everything else is just so bland. He just goes out and plays a stereotypical bad guy.

Justin Gabriel is pretty good. Shame he is still apparently learning how to speak english.

Bray Wyatt seems cool, but not as good as I thought he'd be, given the hype he gets around here.

Marked for Roman Reigns using Ruby Frosion as his finisher.

Langston on the mic is almost as hilariously awkward as Lord Alfred Hayes at Wrestlemania I.

Fignuts 11-10-2012 02:23 AM

Can't believe there are no youtube videos of Alfred Hayes' segues from WM 1.

Was cracking up every time they cut to him, when I watched it the other day.

His eyes keep darting around, like he's expecting someone to leap out and stab him.

Fignuts 11-10-2012 02:24 AM

Seriously, how has this not been discussed at all.

Skippord 11-10-2012 02:42 AM

Bray Wyatt seemed a bit intense this time, different voice than usual

still  him

Vastardikai 11-10-2012 02:55 PM

I can say that the move from Cottonwood to Bryant (Brodie Lee) is a huge upgrade. All Cottonwood could do well was stand around and look menacing. Bryant can do that. He can also move around and not look awkward. He can also talk and not sound like he's special needs. He can also wrestle, which is a huge plus.

Mr. Nerfect 11-10-2012 06:49 PM

I would not be at all opposed if Ohno's rivalries with both Trent Barreta and Richie Steamboat led to some sort of round robin contest between the three.

Mr. Nerfect 11-17-2012 09:06 PM

* Bo Dallas actually showed something! That's awesome. He's young, seems to green for his current position, but he's got a bright future ahead of him. He seemed to be more natural as a cocky personality. I also love it when a face tricks a heel. I can't really identify with "stupid faces," but when a heel does something because they are provoked or because of their pride, if you think they are foolish, you are at least thinking it of the person you are meant to want to see get beat.

* Kind of forgot that Yoshi Tatsu & Percy Watson existed. I wish the WWE would do more with both.

* Conor O'Brian looks more intimidating with his new look. Kenneth Cameron surprised me with his flip into the ring. I do like these guys as a team, but they don't really have anyone substantial to feud with. I just had the random thought of an Ascension vs. Briscoe Brothers feuds, which I think would be really cool if the WWE somehow landed Jay and Mark.

* Layla seems so forced as a babyface.

* Corey Graves still exists! Really wanted to like that guy when I saw him that one time on one of the early Full Sail NXT episodes. He's got a distinct look, and he's got this vibe that he just doesn't give a fuck. He really does seem like that guy who smoked cigarettes in elementary school. He's got dark loner down-pat. It works well as a heel that lacks empathy for his opponents, but his frame and rebellious attitude could also make him an intriguing babyface down the line.

* LOL, poor Oliver. He thought the fans were going to get behind his comeback but they were chanting "Let's go Corey!"

* The submission win for Graves made sense, because he targeted the leg. Smart and logical. I think he could be a good regular addition to NXT. Oliver Gray was also perfectly likeable as the enhancing babyface.

* Oh god...they're letting Langston talk again? "Big End" Langston? I like it, although it does sound kind of euphemistic. I kind of like Langston's goofy promo style. It's like he chooses every word he begins his sentence off with so carefully. Why does every guy need to ooze intensity, even during promos? Just let him talk as he does and kick ass in the ring. The best part of this was Tony Luftman doing his best to put Langston over as an enjoyable force by nodding when Langston brings up "five reasons." Langston has been to the Matt Striker school of interviewing, I see.

* I will give whoever is behind NXT creatively credit for knowing that Langston doesn't need to compete every week to be over. This also seems to set up Langston vs. Camacho quite nicely. Cam should be the first guy to get in any sort of meaningful offence on Langston.

* Dusty's former daughter-in-law here. Wait, did she and Goldust actually get married? I know she turned on Goldust eventually, but was that before or after the "I do's?"

* Trust the NXT developmental Divas to be better in the ring than the main roster girls. Aksana probably shouldn't be used in the ring. As she began to channel Xenia Onatopp from Goldeneye, she got better, but still.

* Roman Reigns playing to the cameras and showing a bit more personality. Nice. Not entirely sold on the guy in the ring just yet. He'll get better. He looks comfortable, if nothing else. Byron Saxton was the ring announcer? I wonder where he went. He does a good job, but I wish they used him more. He did a great job forcing enthusiasm.

* You know, that wasn't a bad main event. People don't give Jinder Mahal enough credit around here, and Bo will be something one day. I like the decision to have Mahal win cleanly -- it builds him as the rightful #1 Contender and a threat to Rollins' NXT Championship. Rollins making the save was a perfect ending to the show.

NXT continues to be the best booked thing on WWE television. This episode did suffer from a notable and depressing lack of Paige, however.

Ultra Mantis 11-17-2012 09:14 PM

I actually can't think of any match I'd rather watch less than Bo Dallas vs Jinder Mahal.

Emperor Smeat 11-18-2012 12:38 AM

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-18-2012 06:44 AM

Roman Reigns is Sika's son, so he should have the goods.

Bo Dallas still sucks. His promo in the 4-way was horrible last week. Looked so awkward and out of place compared to all the real talent around him. It seems they really want this guy to get over but he's too small and he's goofy looking. Put a mask on him and called him Son of Juvy Juice.

VSG 11-19-2012 01:34 PM

Clearly Roman Reigns is good enough for PPV, eh?

A couple notes:

1. Bronson should be TPDub's favorite wrestler. I mean, he's already a Bad Assed Submission Machine and it looks like he snapped long ago.

2. I read someone compare trading Eli Cottonwood for Luke Harper as "The Wrestling equivalent to trading a bag of baseballs for a solid #2 hitter."

Trouble is, Corey Graves is also a snapped submission machine.

That sucks monkey balls although they could always substitute him with someone else that's on the roster that isn't doing anything currently I'm sure if they really wanted to persure continuing the gimmick.

VSG 11-30-2012 04:54 AM

Fuck I just read that. They were/are a glorious tag team :(

Gertner 11-30-2012 07:21 AM

Pretty terrible NXT.

Cameron was pretty out of place for that gimmick. I'd rather O'Brien be the smaller of the team.

Vastardikai 11-30-2012 10:12 AM

How about have O'Brien being one of Wyatt's followers?

Mr. Nerfect 11-30-2012 06:30 PM

It's a shame about Kenneth Cameron, but the dude brought it on himself. I hope he sorts his shit out and gets another run down the line.

Conor O'Brian found a style that works for him in The Ascension.

Poit 12-01-2012 01:07 PM

Xavier Woods is billed from Angel Grove, California, and he shouted "It's morphin' time!" before his finisher.

It doesn't quite match the DBZ reference on his ring attire, but I like it.

That is absolutely incredible.

Always thought Consequences Woods would make a pretty fun mid carder, the guy has charisma. Put him with Ryder and Santino and he'll do fine.

I caught that too. I wondered if it was a real place for a second.

Juan's probably picturing his cock in Langston's ass.

Rammsteinmad 12-07-2012 11:27 AM

Where can us Europeans watch NXT? Haven't seen it in a while coz those Dailymotion links keep coming up "Content Rejected", and those Hulu links "won't play in your country".

VSG 12-07-2012 07:10 PM

dailymotion

Yeah, he looks like Rey Mysterio without the mask on but maybe a little uglier.

This. Not everybody needs to be a main event star out the gate.

Bad News Gertner 12-15-2012 01:35 AM

Rowan was fucking awesome. I can't remember looking more forward to a group developing than I am Wyatt's family.

VSG 12-15-2012 10:20 AM

Seriously, get the full family out there and on Raw ASAP.

I'guessing when Wyatt's healed from injury that this will happen, although I kina want to see this play out a bit more on NXT.

Mr. Nerfect 12-16-2012 02:32 AM

Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt is one of my dream feuds for 2013.

Have the feud take place entirely on SmackDown with Rowan, Luke and whoever else joins The Wyatt Family getting called up to the main roster there. SmackDown could be so awesome if it got its own exclusive talent roster.

I would love for Wyatt to hold a title and have challengers go through his family 1-by-1 in order to get to him for a title shot.

Oh. It's just a recap show.

James Diesel 12-28-2012 02:18 PM

Anyway to watch this without HP? Was getting them on YT but only got 3 episodes in from the rehash

Poit 12-28-2012 02:22 PM

XCaliber or Smelly Meatball usually post videos.

Emperor Smeat 12-28-2012 04:12 PM

Think Dailymotion usually has them up a day later but it gets taken down pretty quickly especially now that the WWE moved most of their stuff to pay services like Hulu Plus.

Poit 12-29-2012 12:34 PM

Yeah. It's especially annoying for Raw, since they don't even show the full episode on Hulu Plus.

VSG 01-01-2013 11:45 AM

SPOILER: show

Very interesting part was the Bray Wyatt promo which showed Luke Harper, Rowan and a few more of his "children" including a woman:

So looks like 4 giants and a female companion/diva.

VSG 01-01-2013 12:02 PM

Also I like how they have finally connected the NXT universe to The Shield and Big E debuting on the main rosters.

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-02-2013 04:32 PM

They film awhile in advance.

The recap show was probably filmed more recently.

Did anyone else think that Cassius Ohno & Leo Kruger seemed a bit homoerotic?
