Honestly, if someone wants to pay the cash, I'm all for it. Long as I can get my shit in game. |
I really don't like this thread. it's easier to find information on new gaming news if someone makes a new thread about it, rather than having to read a bunch of posts that may or may not pertain to your interests :(
|
Well it helps keep the more important threads visable because they aren't being bumped down by every piece of gaming news that requires a new thread. We only have two pages in this forum and once a thread goes off page 2 we have to do a search for it.
This is one of those threads it's best to catch when it's small and keep up to date with to save yourself lots of unwanted reading. If we had that news ticker I suggested, maybe the news would be easier to find. |
2 pages? I can see 90.
Also, some of the stuff in this thread has been more important to me, than most of the topics in the first 2 pages of the VG forums. Putting everything together randomly through pages and pages and pages in one single thread just seems silly and inefficient to me BUT IT WORKS FOR YOU GUYS SO I DIGRESS I SUPPOSEEEEEEEEEE |

Civilsation Revolution is the free app on the iPhone/iPod app store today. It's basically a re-skinned Civ 2 from what I'm reading instead of that slightly awful main console version.

Seems a new art style is being used. Anyone even try the board first time 'round? |
The controller was shit. Could only play on the very easiest mode because it had autopilot and moving left or right was stupidly hard to do right. The tricks were fairly good to do, but Ride itself was buggy as fuck as well.
And calm down Kalyx. You just reacted like he insulted your baby. |
Go rape yourself.

As of late, I'm more of a reader than a poster, which is why I don't make threads. The video game forum used to have pretty much everything I wanted to know that's happening in the gaming industry as new threads I could look through, and not a bunch of posts in a 20 page thread. It was better than going to IGN etc. which reports on every single bit of news that I don't want to know about. I guess I am the only one who feels this way though, so it is not a big deal. |

What do you think is going on here? This is the same fucking forum you remember. Now shut the fuck up and look at the Tony Hawk screens. Fuck. FUCK. Fuckin all Hell cheeseburgers this is so stupid. |

I was with Gohans opinion as even if a thread is made, people tend just to post a link to this one. I just didn't care enough to post as it is an internet message board and will not chnage my life in any way.
But now I like this thread, as Kalyx treating his comments like it was a personal attack has been hilarious. Kudos, Gohan. |

The first sentence of your post is exactly my point though. It used to be I could read about new gaming news that I wanted to read about by reading through threads rather than jumbles of posts. I pretty much never had to go to IGN thanks to the VG forums, but that is no longer the case. |
You're being overdramatic. Posts that are major eventually get threads. The only 'big' news that doesn't have threads would be Sonic Colors and Virtua Fighter 5, which nobody seems to feel like making threads on.
You can also support your claims by simply listing the major news that have been monopolized by this thread. Trivia: Once upon a time I was accused of flooding the forum with threads. Same with the movie/TV forum which led to the creation of the Marvel/DC news threads. The issue was making threads on news with little information - which is really what this is all about. Still, I can understand your position. It'd probably be better if you just make a quick thread for a game and watch people naturally fill it with content. I see you don't really have time for Drakul-type updates but a thread title is all you need (even if people bitched at me for doing just that). I will also make threads on whatever news this thread has that hasn't got a thread of it's own. With an apology even. I just can't believe this is a thing. |

Cmon man, if video game news is that important to complain about, you should check other websites as well. |
Lol at IGN having video game coverage. Of you want hyper-boyle previews, I can post about how everything is amazing.

Holy shit you guys. Check out this EXCLUSIVE preview we at IGN have obtained. Motherfucking Busy Scissors for Wii

I CAN FEEL LIKE MY WIIMOTE IS STAINED WITH MY SEMEN DUE TO MY EXCITEMENT. Game of the year all years. Review Time: What the hell is this? 1/10 |
that's exactly why i like avoiding IGN!

So go somewhere else?

THQ back to loosing money compared to last year's stronger sales. THQ is looking to either start dropping a few franchises from annual development (ex. UFC Undisputed) or extend development time beyond a year per big name game (once again affects UFC Undisputed the most).

Non yearly installments?
How will I get my slightly updated WWE SVR titles then? |

Well the article is more about THQ loosing money after last year being one of the few times THQ managed profits over a year.
I mean .... I DON'T KNOW SINCE I'M TOO LAZY TO GO SEARCH BEYOND THE 1ST PAGE FOR UFC 2010 GAME. MY TPWW CONTRACT PAYS ME MORE PER RANDOM POST THAN PER THREAD AND BECAUSE YOUR YELLING AND HURT MY FEELINGS I'M GOING TO GO TO A CORNER AND CRY :'( :shifty: I think I did that right. |

I am just stating my opinion. If you guys are ok with the VG forum, just being the VG thread that's cool, I just personally don't like it. It's not a big deal as these series of posts are making it out to be :o |
Saw my friend play this game Demon's Souls, pretty cool game
|
We're not cool with it because that isn't the case.
I hate you, Gohan3k. Hate you much. |
You wouldn't be so annoyed if you didn't think there wasn't some truth in what I say.
Look yourself, there are only a few threads that don't span multiple pages on the first page of the forum. Only the biggest of big news is posted outside this thread now. Anyway, we really should just drop this. |

At this point Duke Nukem Forever has no hope of ever being decent or living up to any hype but some interesting news coming out is Gearbox Software rumored to be developing the game now.
Gearbox Software past games include Brothers in Arm series and Borderlands. http://kotaku.com/5609770/rumor-bord...yline=true&s=i |
I refuse to encourage any Duke Nukem Forever hype by taking it serious.

http://www.1up.com/news/goldeneye-00...ition-includes

http://www.1up.com/media?id=3835614&type=lg
A limited edition of the new GoldenEye game has been announced by Activision with a neat and potentially useful pack-in. Rather than include something that can't be used with the game and will just sit on a shelf collecting dust, the Classic Edition of the game will include a customized, gold-colored Classic Controller Pro. "In addition to the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, GoldenEye will also support the Wii Zapper for 'point and shoot' gamers, giving players several ways to experience GoldenEye on Wii," said Activision's David Pokress. "We also couldn't pass up the opportunity to pay homage to the golden gun with the gold Classic Controller Pro, which looks cool and also gives shooter fans a familiar control scheme to use as they blast their way through the game." Nice as it is, it seems like it would have made more sense to include a Wii Zapper or some sort of gun attachment in the color gold to pay homage to the golden gun used by Francisco Scaramanga in The Man with the Golden Gun. Y'know, what with it being a gun. Still, for most people, the Classic Controller Pro will be of more use, making it the more desirable accessory. No price has been announced as of yet for the Classic Edition, but the game itself is still on track for release this November. |
Actually looks kinda tacky. Basic black will do.
My bro got a Wii for his kid so I'm gonna lobby for TvC and Red Steel 2, and get myself a Pro Controller. Also, Motion+ is pretty awesome. |

Always count on Duke. |
What's all this shit about Duke Nukem Forver? It already came out. Zero Punctuation reviewed it.
|
Quote:
Well... actually yeah. BUT; It's not about counting on Duke for me. He's not real, he's not making the game. It's not counting on the devs who found pleasure in releasing one promotional shot every three years and expecting the population to cum over it. I stopped caring years ago. Some interest returned after the 'proposed' gameplay vid, but it wasn't anything worth the years in development Hell. |
Kalyx doesn't actaully like video games. That is what he just said.
|
Kalyx is the cancer.
|
Give the game to Rockstar. They'll do something spectacular that would live up to the hype.
Though it would mean building from the ground up and years of waiting. |

i just bought a new TV through Amazon. Sounds amazing.
|
Which one?
|
|
I got a TV from best buy for pretty cheap the other day. Some house brand "Insignia" "32 inch LED HDTV," sound like such a fucking asshole saying this. I put it next to another TV so that I can have something to do while watching baseball cause it is impossible for me to watch baseball anymore.

I'm still using a cheap Emerson. By the time it dies, sexy TVs will be in my price range. Hell, a comparable name brand LCD is now cheaper than I paid for this one. Still, I only bought it because my old CRT utterly DIED and I didn't want to spend a thousand bucks at the time.

I'm still sitting on a flat screen CRT.
:( |
LCDs are cheap now, and will be even cheaper now that the new craze is LED

TVs are still kinda expensive in Canada. The trade off is that the ricockulous 80inch TVs that need to be specially ordered in the US are widely available here.

Dodgy capicitors. They swell and then the TV won't turn on.
http://www.google.co.uk/m/search?oe=...+tv+capacitors I've been reading when I was looking at a new TV and they apparently never fixed it. Loved my Samsung until it had to get repaired in Jan for this issue, now I probably won't get one of their TVs again. |
Oh, and Samsung repair fucking put new versions of the same shitty capacitors in when they repair it. Just soldered them in myself so I could get some good ones.
|
yeah i read about the capacitor issues, but alot of what i saw was from a year ago. I'd imagine they have cleaned the issue up abit.
|
Don't think so. From what I'm reading they fixed the issue in June this year after a class action was launched in Jan. Most of the supply that's still out there is dodgy :'(
