Well it helps keep the more important threads visable because they aren't being bumped down by every piece of gaming news that requires a new thread. We only have two pages in this forum and once a thread goes off page 2 we have to do a search for it.

This is one of those threads it's best to catch when it's small and keep up to date with to save yourself lots of unwanted reading.

If we had that news ticker I suggested, maybe the news would be easier to find.

Also, some of the stuff in this thread has been more important to me, than most of the topics in the first 2 pages of the VG forums.

Civilsation Revolution is the free app on the iPhone/iPod app store today. It's basically a re-skinned Civ 2 from what I'm reading instead of that slightly awful main console version.

This thread hasn't stopped anyone from making a new thread on whatever they want. News that don't warrant a thread get made here (as I've been using it). Big news, ongoing news, or somebody's personal interest get threads usually. If you feel something is underrepresented than create a thread. If you don't wanna do that you can look for those game sites you mentioned.

Getting mileage out of that pretentious skateboard controller, there will also be snowboarding in the game. Seems a new art style is being used. Anyone even try the board first time 'round?

The controller was shit. Could only play on the very easiest mode because it had autopilot and moving left or right was stupidly hard to do right. The tricks were fairly good to do, but Ride itself was buggy as fuck as well.

As of late, I'm more of a reader than a poster, which is why I don't make threads. The video game forum used to have pretty much everything I wanted to know that's happening in the gaming industry as new threads I could look through, and not a bunch of posts in a 20 page thread. It was better than going to IGN etc. which reports on every single bit of news that I don't want to know about.

I guess I am the only one who feels this way though, so it is not a big deal.

The first sentence of your post is exactly my point though. It used to be I could read about new gaming news that I wanted to read about by reading through threads rather than jumbles of posts. I pretty much never had to go to IGN thanks to the VG forums, but that is no longer the case.

You're being overdramatic. Posts that are major eventually get threads. The only 'big' news that doesn't have threads would be Sonic Colors and Virtua Fighter 5, which nobody seems to feel like making threads on.

You can also support your claims by simply listing the major news that have been monopolized by this thread.

Trivia: Once upon a time I was accused of flooding the forum with threads. Same with the movie/TV forum which led to the creation of the Marvel/DC news threads. The issue was making threads on news with little information - which is really what this is all about.

Still, I can understand your position. It'd probably be better if you just make a quick thread for a game and watch people naturally fill it with content. I see you don't really have time for Drakul-type updates but a thread title is all you need (even if people bitched at me for doing just that).

Nice as it is, it seems like it would have made more sense to include a Wii Zapper or some sort of gun attachment in the color gold to pay homage to the golden gun used by Francisco Scaramanga in The Man with the Golden Gun. Y'know, what with it being a gun. Still, for most people, the Classic Controller Pro will be of more use, making it the more desirable accessory.
No price has been announced as of yet for the Classic Edition, but the game itself is still on track for release this November.

No game is worth the type of wait this game went through. Its assests would have to be reconstructed to meet today's standards, and that may or may not turn out well (Perfect Dark Zero). Aside from a possibly dated engine, is the idea that Duke Nukem may not even be a profitable endeavor these days. Is his 90's humor and gruff sexualization and violence attractive in this modern age?

It's not counting on the devs who found pleasure in releasing one promotional shot every three years and expecting the population to cum over it. I stopped caring years ago. I got a TV from best buy for pretty cheap the other day. Some house brand "Insignia" "32 inch LED HDTV," sound like such a fucking asshole saying this. I put it next to another TV so that I can have something to do while watching baseball cause it is impossible for me to watch baseball anymore.

Insignia is actually a pretty awesome brand. I used to have the same style of one that you described, and it had a lot nicer of a picture than the other TV's there. I was extremely satisfied with it for the price.

I've been reading when I was looking at a new TV and they apparently never fixed it. Loved my Samsung until it had to get repaired in Jan for this issue, now I probably won't get one of their TVs again.

Oh, and Samsung repair fucking put new versions of the same shitty capacitors in when they repair it. Just soldered them in myself so I could get some good ones.

Don't think so. From what I'm reading they fixed the issue in June this year after a class action was launched in Jan. Most of the supply that's still out there is dodgy :'(
