Gut feeling. Feels like a swan song.

Swiss Ultimate 08-13-2016 02:11 PM

It appears that nobody is ever really done with the WWE...except Jeff Jarrett.

Lock Jaw 08-13-2016 02:13 PM

They would not push him into a Summerslam main event if he was done afterwards.

SlickyTrickyDamon 08-13-2016 02:19 PM

As it is promoted and booked the main event is Brock Lesnar Vs. Randy Orton.

His GFW Tag Team Champions did make it into the Cruiserweight Classic. I'm hoping they open up the Dusty Rhodes Classic to other promotions if they do it again. Dusty wass involved in a lot of different promotions throughout his career so it would be fitting. Instead of representing a country the team would represent a their promotion. Would love to see The Addiction get a spot, AJ put them over on his Stone Cold Podcast too.

Right that makes perfect sense? Why did the Choose to have Cena go over?

SlickyTrickyDamon 08-13-2016 02:30 PM

Who said they have?

Just Big Vic making a prediction and Savio backing it up like it had already happened.

Was scrolling WWE.com and saw this picture

And was like "Whoa, who are those two chicks and when did that happen?"

Stopped to read the headline, something about weddings gone wrong and I'm like "Oh.... that's Edge. (And Alicia Fox)"

GD 08-13-2016 03:58 PM

I am really digging Billie Kay's entrance on NXT.

I like it, really looks like a Smackdown show.

Rammsteinmad 08-13-2016 04:46 PM

That's a pretty sweet logo.

GD 08-13-2016 05:24 PM

Vaguely recall Triple H calling the event "Backrash" in one of his promos. Quality stuff. Free rep for anyone who can find it.

If it was anyone else, I'd agree. But I don't know if he has what it takes to kill Nakamura.

You were right. It does look a lot better, but everything besides the "L" looks a bit generic. It's like they did it on WordArt.

Mr. Nerfect 08-13-2016 10:24 PM

Dolph Ziggler vs. Bray Wyatt actually does make sense after SummerSlam. Dolph loses, Bray shows up and tries to get into his head about not having what it takes to win the big one. Basically the Daniel Bryan/Bray Wyatt story with a guy that isn't sky-rocketing past it.

That would leave someone to mock Randy Orton about losing to Brock Lesnar and AJ Styles to challenge Dean Ambrose -- or a Triple Threat program between Ambrose, Orton & Styles. The Triple Threat probably makes the most sense. You'll likely have Baron Corbin going after Apollo Crews and the IC Title. The Miz and Kalisto could be left to tango in the mid-card. American Alpha and The Usos to crown new Tag Team Champions. Becky Lynch and Natalya will do their best to bring the other women on SmackDown up. Samoa Joe will likely be called up. Maybe they do Cena vs. Joe at Backlash to get it out of the way and write Cena off.

Triple Threat Match for the WWE World Championship
Dean Ambrose (c) vs. Randy Orton vs. AJ Styles

Dolph Ziggler vs. Bray Wyatt

John Cena vs. Samoa Joe

WWE Doubles Championship of the Galaxy
The Usos vs. American Alpha

Intercontinental Championship
The Miz (c) vs. Kalisto

Baron Corbin vs. Apollo Crews

Six-Woman Tag Team Elimination Match
Becky Lynch, Naomi & Carmella vs. Natalya, Alexa Bliss & Eva Marie

Goodbye Alberto Match
Alberto Del Rio vs. Heath Slater

I changed my mind and had Miz keeping the IC Title past SummerSlam and Corbin and Crews fighting elsewhere because the IC Title is basically an anchor anyway.

Mr. Nerfect 08-13-2016 10:44 PM

I'm actually looking forward to the brand split PPVs more than the big collective ones. The company is going to need to create mid-card storylines with some sort of direction in order to fluff them out. The wrestling will be fresh and unique in many cases. I don't expect them to be "blow-away," but I do expect them to be solid and interesting shows.

Steel Cage Match for the Women's Championship
Sasha Banks (c) vs. Charlotte

Six-Man Tag Team Match
Seth Rollins, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson vs. Finn Balor, Kofi Kingston & Big E

Triple Threat Match for the United States Championship
Roman Reigns (c) vs. Rusev vs. Cesaro

Chris Jericho vs. Kevin Owens

Cruiserweight Championship
Sami Zayn vs. Neville

Sheamus vs. Darren Young

Jinder Mahal vs. Sin Cara

You Will Behave Paige Match
Nia Jax vs. Paige

Curtis Axel vs. Zack Sabre, Jr.

Enzo & Big Cass vs. The Shining Stars

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I got a bit lazy towards the end there, Enzo & Cass could do something "bigger," but they're also a good warm-up act and there would be a lot going on near the top of this show. Epico y Primo are good workers who can beat on Enzo for a bit.

Axel vs. Zack Sabre, Jr. is just a way to get Sabre out there with a guy that can put over his holds and the frustration of not being able to keep up with him well. Some of these cruiserweights need to beat heavyweights to prove that they belong.

Paige does her best to make Nia Jax look tremendous.

Jinder Mahal is an angry Indian guy beating up a Mexican that people are supposed to like. These guys go way back to developmental together and could probably do good work in order to put Mahal over.

Sheamus vs. Darren Young could be your typical bully/underdog program. I wouldn't be in a rush to put Young over though. Maybe Sheamus gets Young in a Texas Cloverleaf and Backlund throws in the towel or something?

Zayn and Neville try to steal the show to crown a new Cruiserweight Champion. Zayn would probably be better off without the title whereas Neville would have a harder time getting over without it, but at some point you need to give something to Zayn. Maybe Neville wins it first and then Zayn gets it next?

Owens and Jericho have a spat after their loss to Enzo & Cass at SummerSlam and it turns out that they don't have each other's backs. This would deliver both in the ring and on the mic and would be one of the more heavily promoted matches. Owens can win, but there's still part of me that wants to see Jericho enlist The Dudleys as his pissed off veteran allies. That can happen on RAW though.

Reigns wins the US Title at SummerSlam, Rusev wants it back, Cesaro beats Sheamus and earns a shot and is sick of being glossed over. I imagine they'd work well together and deliver a pretty damn good match actually. They probably wouldn't be ready to take the US belt off Reigns if they just put it on him.

Rollins enlists the services of The Club to help him win the Universal Title at SummerSlam. The Demon has been betrayed. Gallows & Anderson also take the WWE Tag Team Titles off The New Day at SummerSlam. "The Champions of the Universe" find themselves on the defensive from Balor & The New Day, but numbers dictate Xavier Woods needs to sit out of their arranged main event. Rollins uses this opportunity to try and get into Woods' head -- "You're a smart man, Xavier. You know I'm the guy to be beside." They seem to like playing up conflicted Xavier. Woods re-affirms his babyface status at the PPV and helps the good guys win and earn title rematches.

Sasha Banks and Charlotte headline the show in a blow-off to their Women's Championship feud. Bayley helps fend off Dana Brooke at SummerSlam, but the numbers are neutralized now. I've got this as a Cage Match, but it could be a Ladder Match or even just a straight-out match between the two. Whatever. Give them the final match slot of the night.

Black Widow 08-14-2016 12:40 AM

Yeah I think Dolph wins and losses at the next PPV.

Mr. Nerfect 08-14-2016 12:57 AM

Could go that way too.

GD 08-14-2016 01:04 AM

Dolph Ziggler winning the WWE World Championship for the first time would be more effective if he were to win it as a heel. Considering how strong Dean's current reign as champion has been, it would be counter productive to have him drop ze belt to Dolphin, who's still becoming acclimated to the main event scene. I am in favor of a longer storyline.

Mr. Nerfect 08-14-2016 04:50 AM

I'm in favor of the long root. I do imagine them telling a story with Ziggler where he loses then moves into the Wyatt storyline as Ambrose dances with Styles and Orton for a few months.

He's stopped the comedy stuff and has been excellent in the G1

Mr. Nerfect 08-14-2016 07:15 PM

That's good. New Japan obviously have faith in him. I guess they need someone to plug the hole AJ Styles left. His facial expressions used to annoy me.

Fignuts 08-14-2016 07:26 PM

Yeah, beneath the comedy, he's always been pretty great in the ring.

Mr. Nerfect 08-14-2016 08:17 PM

I think he's good athletically and all that, but he just never really strung it all together.

Mr. Nerfect 08-14-2016 08:17 PM

To be honest, Zack Sabre, Jr.'s facial expressions annoyed the hell out of me when I saw him in the CWC too.

Shadrick 08-14-2016 08:50 PM

It's official, Noid hates the name Zack.

I bet you fucking loathe Zack Morris too. What about Zach, the Black Ranger?
