The Fraze hopes you "get off" that night instead of over.
With WWE taking their PPVs international, it doesn’t leave many special arena shows open for the North American market. It might befit WWE to do some Clash of the Champions-type specials to get their product in front of places.
The Fraze will not watch a PPV live at 9 AM.

Maybe it’s because I’m Australian and grew up with 10am PPVs, but I prefer to watch at that time. When I gave more of a shit, I’d take a day off, go for a morning walk, grab a coffee, come back, stretch out and watch. Then you’ve got the afternoon to process/do other things.
Evening watches are for movies or classic wrestling. |
The Fraze watches the overseas shows later in the day every time. Is what it is.
I watched one of the WWE shows in Japan live at 5am because I just happened to be awake. But I usually wait until later so the mrs and I can watch together.
(I remember really enjoying that show) |

Who are your fave five current hotties

Liv
Rhea Lola Vice Tiffany Stratton Skye Blue |
Liv I can agree with, and Tiffany with regard to in-ring. But The Fraze prefers natural women, ESPECIALLY their faces. All of the filler and makeup is a major turn off.
Rhea is super pretty sans the makeup

I just read Alberto Del Rio is signed to the UFC as a Spanish language commentator. It’s weird to think of him working for TKO.
Del Rio getting jobs in general is surprising.

If Del Rio leverages his TKO spot into getting a one-off Rumble surprise appearance I wouldn't be all that surprised, but I've no interest in watching him again.
I have enjoyed what I've seen of Del Rio's work (so basically his WWE run), but I'm not really clamoring to see him again.
Del Rio was someone who I think was really technically skilled but to an extent where he was possibly phoning it in because he knew that just coasting by was good enough.
I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing - why kill yourself when you don't have to. But he looked so bored by about 2012. And his character was pretty one-note which didn't help. |
Day one Del Rio hater here.
His announcer and entrance were more over than the wrassler
His vignettes with the cars and shit were awesome.

I’m intrigued by this TNA/NXT relationship. TNA playing the role of ECW getting propped up by the WWF. I guess it provides more opportunities for TNA talent and could lead to fresh angles for NXT. It could also strengthen a relationship between WWE and Anthem, so if/when AEW are out on their ass post-WBD deal, it even makes an AXS TV deal difficult.
Watch the WWE Biography on Macho Man Randy Savage makes me hate Bubba the Shit Sponge even more.
Fucking go away. I thought you and Hogan had a falling out after you leaked the tape of him fucking your wife. |
Oh, he’s still around being a total piece of shit, talking in wrestling lingo for no reason.
Bubba the Love Sponge, that is. The same could be said for Hulk Hogan. |
I’m just thinking about some Randy Savage dream matches right now.
Savage vs. Brock Lesnar would have been amazing. I could go me some Savage vs. Kurt Angle too. |

I’m intrigued by this NXT/TNA partnership. There are a lot of benefits. TNA’s are obvious. WWE gets to prove they can play nice, have a place to send talent to freshen them up, access to reserve talent and can put pressure on AEW and other self-professed “challenger brands” trying to blow up the system.
I wouldn’t be shocked to see WWE make a play at the New Japan deal in a similar arrangement. It’s also a “hot” angle for NXT and allows them to build an arc to pay off either right around or even past the CW Network debut. It also probably pleases the parent company since Endeavor has some sort of relationship with TNA (as weird as that sounds). |

I hope when Rhea Ripley gets back they do a Rhea vs Liv "Custody of Dominik" match
I get the joke, but Rhea should just kill them both. I just hope they don’t Vince/Bret or Cole/Lawler it and have it go on too long with unnecessary heat.
I’m kind of looking forward to NXT Battleground. I don’t watch NXT very often. There are times it feels like a pretty kinetic and clever show, but other times it feels so cheesy because of the insane gimmicks. I’m going to check out this show though.
Oba Femi is a beast. Jaida Parker is a star. I’m looking forward to seeing what they do with TNA. I’m hoping for Gail Kim to help Jordynne Grace win and cut promos about how she was all set to lead a revolution in WWE but came against brick wall after brick wall. |
Gail Kim should have a cape if she comes back too.

some shane mcmahon punches. the best in the game
Brock hated the idea of working with Shane so much he decided to instead book himself to be squashed by Goldberg instead.
I’ll take Shane McMahon punches over New Japan forearms to the neck.
Dijak has revealed himself to be the new Ryback.
Money in the Bank was pretty boring. I kinda hate Punk attacking Drew. I’m no fan of the MITB concept, but this was just too labored. Punk should have cost Drew in the Ladder Match, then a face should have won. I’d have gone with LA Knight. You’ve got a long time to do something with that. I’d consider removing the 1 yr stip on the contracts too
Tiffany winning was cool. I really liked the Chelsea Green finish. Green shouldn’t be one of the best things in the company. But she is entertaining. Jacob Fatu didn’t really impress me tbh. It was his debut match and that was a pretty big deal. I wouldn’t say he shat the bed or anything, but it was just…there. I think the finish was what it needed to be. Sami and Bron was goodish. There was a bit of sloppy stuff, but they got it together and it was perfectly fine. Got no problem with Sami retaining in Canada. I imagine we’re going to get a doubled-down heel Bron coming out of this. The World Title match was pretty awful. Just spot after spot. Can Seth take more time off pls? Damian too. There were a lot of better ways to go about setting up a three-way, which they don’t need to be doing anyway. It feels like everyone is a heel in this program. Then you throw in Gunther. Perfectly missable. You can just read the results and go on your merry way. They got too cute with some stuff. The pacing of the show is off too. That is probably unavoidable with all their sponsorship shit, but the 5 match thing worked on Takeovers and maybe SOME main roster PPVs. But when everything is just so drawn out it kills the flow and momentum of things. |
I gotta say, WTF was the brain-dead ending of NXT Heatwave? Absolutely asinine booking, taking the NXT Championship off Trick Williams for no reason.
I haven’t watched the show yet, but that is genuinely surprising. I might have to check it out now. Here are some possibilities:
1) They want drama and a bit of surprise for upcoming shows. It sells the four-way concept as something more chaotic if it actually does lead to change sometimes. 2) Trick needs time off for something. 3) He’s going to get the main roster call sometime soon. Keep the machine churning. |
Main roster needs a little cleaning before its worth it for anyone being called up
Just watched Heatwave. Liked it better than MITB to be honest. Liked the finish to the main event. Leads to plenty of things.
Oba Femi is so fucking good.
Don’t think they’re calling up Trick after watching it. Probably just a wrinkle in the story.
One thing that needs to stop: Assigning participants in multi-man matches equal percentages of winning. You do not have a 25% chance of winning a four-way match. Zach Gowen did not have a 50% chance of beating Brock Lesnar.

He’s a few years (months?) away from cutting promos on crying babies and single mothers for attention on social media. I’m making that sound cooler than it actually is.

I watched all three WWE shows this week. First time in forever that’s happened, I think. Raw was good, but long. NXT actually wasn’t too bad. There’s stuff I really wish they’d get rid of. Some of the gimmicks there are atrocious. SmackDown was a damn great show. I can only nitpick certain things.
Jacob Fatu is just amazing. And I can’t believe I’m now a mark for Baron Corbin lol. |
I had to tap on Raw during the Priest/Gunther segment. The dynamic they’re going for is so forced. Don’t buy into “Champion of the Street People” Damian Priest vs. “You Choose to be Homeless” Gunther at all.
I’m not that excited for SummerSlam. Not that the build to the show has been bad or anything — I’m just not feeling it. Maybe the show itself with stir something out of me?
No BIG DOG Ramon Reigns
Card feels lackluster.... lacks star power.... |
I’ve gotten myself a bit more excited after SmackDown.
Logan Paul vs. LA Knight is a bit like watching Stunning Steve feud with Stone Cold. I get a kick out of both guys. I think we’ll get a few surprises. |
People still doubt the man, but Solo Sikoa is fantastic at what he does. He’s great at ringside for The Bloodline’s tags too. Way underrated.
Jacob Henry has signed with WWE. Mark Henry mentioning him in that retirement promo was a long time ago now.
I’ve found myself watching SmackDown a few weeks in a row. Raw and NXT are still usually getting a miss.
Andrade has been really impressing me lately. He does some stuff I really shouldn’t like (the missed moonsault into a standing one every damn match), but I’ve been enjoying the attention to detail he’s been putting into his work. He’s got good facial expressions too. He doesn’t get the best reactions when he comes out, but he ends up getting over by the end. He’s doing really good stuff. PrettyCool he got to get out of AEW and have this run. |
Sorry, but Solo Sikoa is so underrated. Definitely worthy of his main event spot.

RAW going to 2hrs in Oct, Nov and Dec is great...hope Netflix keeps it around the same running time
Can't imagine anyone wanting to do that.
Netflix doesnt run commercials so extra ad blocks doesnt bring them more money
Or wait...did they add a free tier? I definitely dont get ads but maybe im remembering an ad based tier...
I haven't been following any wrestling news since the forum started crashing daily, it's kind of eye opening how little you hear about Dave Meltzer outside of wrestling.
Quote:
just looked it up:
ad-supported is $6.99 standard is $15.49 "premium" is $22.99 |
So raw being 3 hours would only benefit them assuming the ad tier is a significant portion of their revenue. Hard to say. It might make sense for them to push for a longer show.
Extremely interesting... i want the answer to that question...netflix data is so sketchy though
The ad tier is so much cheaper though it has to be that...yeah?

The lack of Meltzer has been glorious. The only time I see his name is on YouTube now whenever he gets bashed. |
It’s refreshing to see more and more people calling out Meltzer’s lack of credibility in 2024.
I wonder if Meltzer just makes up AEW’s PPV numbers? It wouldn’t shock me. It’s a little suspicious that every metric seems to shrink except the alleged PPV numbers that we just take Meltzer’s word are smash hits.
How many Dave Meltzers does it take to screw in a light bulb?
2, 1 to screw in the light bulb and 1 to say "plans change" and unscrew the light bulb. |
An additional 30 to clean up his room and find the light bulb.
I’ve found myself watching Raw the past two weeks. Raw went for 3 hours again this week, yeah? It was stretched out to that long over here anyway lol.
Raw thoughts: * CM Punk cut a money promo. It was like a masterclass in how to do that. * Sheamus and Pete Dunne had a really good match. Pretty crazy how good Sheamus is at like 45 or whatever. I thought he had spinal stenosis or something, but that was probs reported by Meltzer. Pete Dunne has been doing good work. * Joe Tessitore is really good. I like him and Wade together. * Bianca Belair and Iyo Sky work really well together. * Ludwig Kaiser really impressed me. Sami Zayn is so good at doing what he does. * The Judgment Day story threading throughout everything gives the viewer something to follow through the show. It’s still surreal seeing Carlito back lol. JD McDonagh is really good. Dominik Mysterio is obviously one of the best things in wrestling. Liv is so much better at this. * I’m not into the Jey Uso “Yeet” stuff, but he’s got good intensity when he has something to bite into. Him and Bron Breakker for the IC Title gives me Rock/HHH vibes. Bron is so good. I think I might be the only person who DOESN’T think he’s going to end to back in Roman’s orbit. |
Quote:
Sheamus could lose a “All or Nothing” match with Bron Breakker for the IC Title at some point. Sheamus goes down to NXT — tries to win all the titles there.
Sheamus vs. Oba Femi would be pretty fucking sick. |

I’d rather each show spin off with an extra hour than go 3 hours.
SmackDown was a good show. Jacob Fatu always stands out. I like what they’re burning with Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens.
NXT has been really good lately. WWE has been such an easy watch lately. And they don’t just feel like 3 variations of the same dish. NXT especially has been more kinetic like an Attitude era show.

The NXT debut on CW averaged 895k viewers. I thought it was a very clever show. Themes ran throughout. A little detail I loved:
SPOILER: show |
NXT crushing Dynamite with a tenth of the budget is hilarious.

And on a dead network
