Good god man where have you been?

If you haven't seen Evil Dead 2 you need to see that next. It's before Army. AOD is really Evil Dead 3.

ClockShot 08-04-2009 11:02 AM

Fast & Furious - 3.5/5

I grabbed this for the sole purpose of Jordana Brewster. And she doesn't get much screentime. :'(

Loose Cannon 08-05-2009 12:11 AM

Watchmen. 7.5/10

I was warned beforehand by you guys, by the guy at blockbuster and by other people that this was not an "action" movie like you would think. So without expecting that, it was pretty good

El Fangel 08-05-2009 01:03 AM

Detroit Rock City - 9.5/10

Fucking loved this

The Genius 08-05-2009 01:53 AM

horsemen 4/10

wwe2222 08-05-2009 09:52 AM

Funny People 7.5/10-Ran too long and dragged on during some scenes for me to give it higher. Overall really enjoyed it though.

Body of Lies: First part of the movie: 8.5-9/10 last 20 minutes: 4/10

I was really into the movie and the last 20 minutes it came apart for me. Thought Leo was great, not sure why Russell Crowe needed to be in the movie.

D Mac 08-05-2009 08:52 PM

Before the Devil Knows You're Dead 9/10

Marrissa Tomei fucking doggy at the beginning of it: 2 dicks up

PorkSoda 08-05-2009 11:06 PM

Hard to Kill - 5/10.

Rocky - 10/10. Yeah, first time I've seen this. Anyone else think the ending is quite emotional?

Loose Cannon 08-06-2009 11:02 AM

Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Lii 2/10

yea, this sucked big time. And who was the genius that cast the guy from the Rundown as Bison? The first movie, although ridiculous at times, was a lot more fun to watch.

D Mac 08-06-2009 03:59 PM

PorkSoda you really need to see Evil Dead 2.

I think the bigger question is how did Taboo from Black Eyed Peas get cast as Vega?

Droford 08-06-2009 08:20 PM

Fast and Furious 6/10

I shouldnt have had such high expectations for "the best in the series" or whatever it says on the back of the case. A couple good moments but they could have done so much more with it, and the special effects were really weak.

What about Evil Dead 1?

D Mac 08-06-2009 11:36 PM

Eh it's ok. Its your basic horror flick whereas 2 inserts the slapstick comedy.

Heh, 1 is still the best.

Triple A 08-07-2009 05:45 AM

Movies I saw since the last time I posted in this thread:

Bruno: 7/10
Fake show pilot part is still stuck in my head.

Young People Fucking: 5/10
Like 5 stories of 5 couples during one "sexual encounter". Good concept, but a bunch of it felt like a show on MTV or something.

Husbands and Wives: 7/10
<3 Woody Allen

You, the Living: 8/10
50 "absurdist" shorts/scenes. Weird ass movie. The entire tone/feel of the movie is great, I don't know. Can't explain this one at all.

Songs from the Second Floor: 8/10
Pretty much same as above. Same filmmaker.

Nothing: 6/10
Two "bros" who hate their miserable lives wish the world away, and it actually happens and they are left in a white void for the last hour of the movie. Mad good concept and the beginning was great but got kinda "dumb" and "lost steam" in the second half.

Spiral: 6/10
Some weird guy who is a painter and starts some relationship with some chick at his job but she doesn't know "how troubled he really is". Was alright.

500 Days of Summer: 8/10
This movie was mad good. Kinda didn't expect to like it nearly as much. Some parts were mad annoying though. But still Highly Enjoyable.

The Hurt Locker: 2/10
Fucking hate this movie so fucking much. Unbelievably overrated piece of shit. Wanted to walk out like 927835 times. Was "so" not into it. Mad boring "trying too hard to be 'suspenseful'" bullshit. Hated all the characters. No discernible plot. Garbage.

I am so proud of you: 10/10
Don Hertzfeldt's new short film. Saw this at some animation festival in Brooklyn. Fucking unbelievable. This is one of the best things I have ever seen. Was perfect in every way possible. Love him so much.

NoRoolz 08-08-2009 03:08 PM

Pulse: 2/10, fucking terrible. Boring and repetitive as shit.

Untraceable: 8/10, really good film. Typical whodunnit in ways and not exactly unique, but definitely worth a watch.

Menace II Society: 7.5/10. Have had it on DVD for years, literally. Just got round to watching it, good film, but it's no Boyz N The Hood.

XL 08-09-2009 03:39 PM

Watchmen - 8/10

Struggling to rate this fairly. My friend implored me to read the graphic novel before watching the film, really shouldn't have. Rather than watching the film and enjoying it/judging it as such I found I was just spotting shots/styling/script from the novel or noticing stuff that had been cut. Gotta say however that I prefer the film ending to the GN ending.

Supreme Olajuwon 08-09-2009 05:22 PM

The Ugly Truth - 5%

Went with the lady to see it. I've been to enough of these movies that I can for the most part shrug off how stupid the plot is and just try to have a good time, but this movie has zero redeemable qualities about it.

I couldnt believe they made not 1 but 2 direct to DVD sequels for Pulse.

I havent been bored enough to want to try and watch the 3rd, but the second was actually ever so slightly better than the first, but not by much.

thedamndest 08-10-2009 04:15 PM

The Taking of Pelham 123 - 6/10 - I had really low expectations for this, but it was worth the full dollar I paid. Travolta and Denzel made their characters work, but the plot itself is full of holes. I haven't seen the original, but I would guess it probably worked better back then.

Angels and Demons - 6.5/10 - The movie was good, but I knew what was coming because I read the book. They removed a lot of my favorite character's scenes.

James Steele 08-10-2009 04:55 PM

Funny People - 5/10: Too many dick jokes, and it dragged on way too long toward the end.

The Genius 08-11-2009 03:08 AM

Heathers 2/10

Well there were similarities and differences, DrA. More differences than similarities, however, which may be a good thing as it would have been awfull if my proposalwas on the big screen. I just don't have the acting range that Ryan Reynolds has. Also, I have bever been to Alaska.

The Mackem 08-11-2009 03:51 AM

Crash - Two Mackem thumbs up :y: :y:

Loose Cannon 08-11-2009 04:51 PM

Mad Max: 7/10

Been wanting to see this and Beyond Thunderdome ever since I caught Road Warrior. I liked Road Warrior a lot better, but this was still cool. A very young Mel Gibson here.

Obsessed: 6/10. It was ok. Nothing really groundbreaking. This stole stuff from Hand that Rocks the Cradle and if you saw that 90's movie, The Crush, you already know the deal. The obsessed woman is smoking though. I don't know what that dude's problem was. must be a closet homo.

PorkSoda 08-11-2009 07:05 PM

Seven Pounds - 7/10.

Funny People...did anyone think that the last 20 minutes should have happened like in the middle of the movie? It's like the problem happened about 30 minutes too late...

Sixx 08-11-2009 07:15 PM

Is G-Force a move about Guinea Pigs?

I hear Charlie Sheen likes to take those to the police station.

Triple A 08-11-2009 11:35 PM

HUMPDAY - 9/10

Fantastic movie.

Loose Cannon 08-12-2009 11:05 AM

The Untouchables: 9.5/10

fucking awesome movie. I've never seen it before. I love gangster movies.

wwe2222 08-12-2009 11:53 AM

GI Joe: 3/10.
bad acting, bad casting, bad storyline, etc.

PorkSoda 08-12-2009 06:41 PM

Gi. Joe - 7/10.

The action in this movie was awesome. It had everything. Car crashes. Car chases. Guns. Ninjas. Martial arts. Sword fighting. Explosions. A badass chick as a villian. Lots of things getting destroyed. The plot was kind of stupid and I thought the acting was good for what it was, just the dialogue was stupid. I didn't really get why this was a GI Joe movie though....felt like it should have been something else. Also, I didnt like how (sort of a spoiler) they set it up for a sequel.

Oh, and i started watching Evil Dead 2 the other day. It seems good so far.

Kalyx triaD 08-12-2009 07:12 PM

GI Joe - 4/5

I liked it. It's like every summer movie ever rolled into one. What action sequence did it not have?!

Droford 08-13-2009 07:01 PM

Miss March 7/10

A surprisingly funny movie, much better than I expected. Of note, I couldn't get over Trevor Moore's resemblence in both look and voice to Edge.

Sixx 08-13-2009 07:10 PM

Could anyone tell me or better yet link me to an image showing how the Cobra Commander looks?

By the way, that is not my next tattoo.

Droford 08-13-2009 07:23 PM

If it had 2 more red slashes on the bottom of it, it would be a pretty cool logo/tattoo for HHH.

ClockShot 08-14-2009 04:37 PM

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra - 2.5/5

Not bad, but not great either. Felt more like 90 minutes than 2 hours.

DAMN iNATOR 08-14-2009 08:07 PM
