PSN went down due to Sony adding in Cloud Computing for game saves. Only PSN Plus members get access to it but no word if it will eventually extend to all PSN members.
150 MB in space and 1000 game saves allowed per account right now. |

Did they at least give you a head's up that it went down? If they did, quit complaining.

Microsoft preparing to respond harshly to the recent XBLA points exploit costing the company $1.2 million before it was shut down.
Unlike other point generator schemes, this one managed to generate numbers of cards based on previously used cards and not by a random generator. Also unlike other exploits that require some time to get multiple codes and limits on point values, this exploit allowed multiple codes that only needed a button click to generate each time. Microsoft estimates about 1/2 million unsold cards for XBLA are potentially useless right now until Microsoft resets the activation on them. Microsoft is considering a variety of punishments ranging from simple point and purchase deductions to banning and potential bricking of consoles for the bigger offenders (someone managed to steal roughly $15,000 worth in points and spent them all). The exploit only was online for 4 hours and Microsoft confirms the numbers not generated during that time won't be reset in case they were legitimate purchases. http://fastcache.gawkerassets.com/as.../03/points.jpg http://kotaku.com/#!5780686/microsof...for-exploiters |
Wow.
|
Why do people even do this stuff? Do they honestly think stuff like this goes by unnoticed?
|
Well, there's probably a bunch of guys that got the stuff duped and are now gonna mod the consoles and never use them online, which is relatively safe, I suppose. Probably a fairly big bunch of people gonna get banned/bricked in the next wave because they're too stupid to see that MS can see what you're doing online..

Yeah, The Darkness has easily been one of my favorite games of the current gen. Not perfect, but an awesome story and just really fun to play

Valve announces there will be some sort of content to explain the gap in story between Portal 1 and Portal 2. They didn't announce what it is but it could range anywhere between pre-DLC like Case Zero was for Dead Rising 2, a mini-game of some sort, or just a simple storyline press release.
Valve says while Portal 1 occurred after the first Half-Life but before HL 2, Portal 2occurs during Half Life 2 but didn't specify if it was during the main game or the episodes set. Also announced was Portal's overall story does not actually connect with the Half-Life series storyline but almost as a sidestory with minimal references to events in HL. http://gamrfeed.vgchartz.com/galleri...1299884983.jpg http://gamrfeed.vgchartz.com/story/8...or-to-release/ -------------------------------------------------------------- EA drops support for updating NBA Jam rosters for consoles after initially promising the updates would follow the same schedule as the rest of the EA roster update games (Jam would have followed NBA Live/Elite schedule). The BS reason was because they had to include online and HD for the Xbox 360/PS3 meant it was impossible for them to include a roster update schedule. App Store unofficial reason was they were too lazy since the game was a cheap port. |

Electronic Arts might have another financial problem on their hands after UFC bought out Strikeforce today. UFC's exclusive deal with THQ lasting till 2018 could end up killing EA's promised MMA game sequel while giving THQ access to Strikeforce fighters for its next game.
EA's original plans were to put their new MMA series on an alternating schedule with Fight Night series to provide another yearly source of revenue for the company. Even though THQ announced their UFC series is now on a 2 year schedule, it isn't expected that UFC will beak its current deal with THQ to fill in the non-THQ years. THQ would demand less payments on license fees and preference in the UFC brand in any new deal. This news combined with horrible NBA Jam sales, potential end for the NBA Live/Elite series, and expected weak Madden 12 sales will ruin EA's revenue from its sports division. http://cache.gawker.com/assets/image...-review-01.jpg http://kotaku.com/#!5781350/ufc-take...fter-one-round ---------------------------------------------- Microsoft testing out their network and Xbox Live with a new program called Xbox Labs until March 27. Any Xbox user can join the program and in return Microsoft is giving away free avatar goodies. The tests are bandwidth intensive and the required stages are 30 minutes done in a row, 1 hour cumulative, and 6 hours cumulative without doing anything else on the system. |
Huge rumor involving Microsoft potentially terminating their relationship with Rare could occur within next year if Rare's next game called Kinect Sports 2 fails to reach sales expectations. Poor sales, public reception, and money spent with little return are some of the reasons for Microsoft to consider this a move.
The rumor originates from last month but somewhat confirmed due to the only major title Rare will work on in 2011 is Kinect Sports 2. Kinect Sports 1 sold about 2.8 million copies but the majority of those were bundled with the accessory (same for Kinect Adventures). Kinect Sports 2 will be the real test for Microsoft to determine if Rare can still sell games without needing bundles or pre-Kinect hype. They might be expecting something similar to Wii Sports Resort generating about 1/3 the sales of Wii Sports. Should Microsoft get rid of Rare, their internal studios would most likely take over the Kinect series. http://cache.gawker.com/assets/image...03/feeling.jpg http://kotaku.com/#!5781578/hope-you...-kinect-sports ----------------------------------------------------- EA and Activision are leading a group of publishers and developers studios in an attempt to remove NDP from sales discussions. Their issue revolves around the NDP requiring members to pay to access its data and the lack of digital sales tracked by the NDP. The other problem involves publishers and the Big 3 (Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft) themselves do not provide digital sales to the NDP which ends up not covering or estimating these sales as a result. |
One husband and wife DIY team recently announced on Reddit that they'd unlocked the secret of portal technology* using everyday, off-the-shelf parts. By attaching LED rope light to the backs of two oval mirrors, they succeeded in creating one of the most effective (and easily replicated) displays of video game related wall art we've ever had the pleasure to lay eyes on: Portal portals that look strikingly authentic.
The Redditors in question, corttana and dahburbb, say that the "spiraling" effect of the lights is actually the unexpected result of curving the light rope they used into an oval shape. When asked by other users, the duo said they plan to building a Companion Cube storage chest to round out their personal Enrichment Center. You can see more photos of it at the source link. |
It would be cooler if each one was a screen and had a camera on it so when you looked in one it would be like looking out the other.

Get on that shit then, show them up.

If it is actually gonna teach people how to play guitar then I am not completely against it like I am with Guitar Hero.
I'd just like to point out that Nintendo did it first with the miracle piano btw |
You can now replace PS3 blu-ray drives and re-marry them. Save yourself £200 from Sony.
Only if you never upgrade above 3.55 like some type of chump anyways. |

http://exophase.com/22007/crytek-uk-...for-e3-unveil/
With Crytek’s Crysis 2 hitting store shelves next week, the company is ramping up hype for its next project, one that’s in development at its UK arm. Crytek co-founder Avni Yerli tells Develop that the unveil, which will likely make an E3 apperance, will make the gaming scene “very pleased.” We come to mutual conclusions on projects, and I think at E3 this year – or just after – we are going to make a big announcement that I think people will be happy about. The sentiment that “people will be happy” certainly seems to indicate that something is receiving the sequel treatment. Could it be a new TimeSplitters? One can hope. Prior to being acquired by Crytek UK, Free Radical were working on TimeSplitters 4. Since then, the studio has expressed interest in reviving the franchise, though nothing concrete has come to light. Follow this author on Twitter. |

Assman being an idiot as usual.

Diesel Mac, you're the one who always complains at people who tell you to "stop having fun" for playing the games you like. Maybe you should stop pretending that the things you like are the only things worth liking and that everything else is worthless. Go ahead and post a mindless response to this.

Recent survey sent by Sony to Ubisoft and other companies might have leaked out the official prices Sony is leaning towards for the NGP.
Based on the survey, the basic or Wifi NGP model will be priced at $250 and the premium or 3G NGP model will be priced at $350. The survey didn't have options for game prices but its assumed anywhere between $50 to $60 due to PSP games being $40 and NGP development costs being about 2-3 times higher. If Sony sells the lower model for $250, they will lose out on a lot of money due to earlier reports rumored the NGP costing around $400-$500 to make. Also not announced was the pricing for the rumored subscription plan that was expected to subsidize some of the NGP production costs. http://gamrfeed.vgchartz.com/pics/so...3_expanded.jpg http://gamrfeed.vgchartz.com/story/8...-for-3g-model/ |
Did we ever figure out how many of Diesel Mac's posts were longer than two sentences?
