It's pretty clear The Genius had his/her movie night.

The Genius 07-28-2009 12:35 AM

exactly right

The Proposal - One Mackem thumb up :y:

DrA 07-30-2009 12:13 AM

How did it match up to your proposal?

Terminator Salvation 2/10 - what was the point?

Jon Kano 07-30-2009 08:55 PM

Why didn't you like it? I thought it was awesome.

Gonzo 07-30-2009 09:03 PM

Watchmen 5/10

Very so-so.

I just thought it was unnecessary. :-\

Coraline 9/10

Not quite as good as Nightmare Before Christmas for a stop motion animated film (though it obviously looked much better, especially on Blu-ray), but it was still really good and its amazing the amount of work that went into making it. Didnt get to see it in 3-D though.

Bolt 7/10

I would dare say that Disney's Animation Studio has Pixar beat on the graphical side of the equation and I liked the story but it just seemed like something was missing that Pixar's films usually have.

Watchmen (incomplete)

I dont know how to rate it. I had a very limited introduction to the graphic novel to get the jist of things, and from what I gather it was pretty faithful to the source material..but..Jesus Christ the first 2 hours are just torture to sit through since almost nothing happens. I was thinking "2 more hours of THIS??" and hour in. The last hour was very good though but I cant say that it redeem the first 2/3s. I ended up with the directors cut Blu-ray so maybe the shorter theatrical version wasnt as bad (I read an article saying the studio made them cut out a lot for theatres)..

Loose Cannon 07-31-2009 12:58 PM

wait, Watchman is 3 hours long? ugh, there's no way I can make it through that.

Fast and Furious: 7/10. I definatelty liked it better then the last 2 pieces of crap they produced. Fun movie

ClockShot 07-31-2009 04:21 PM

The Hurt Locker - 4.5/5

Hell of a movie. But shaved half a point cause of an unnecessary plot line.

PorkSoda 07-31-2009 09:33 PM

Funny People - 4/10

Low rating....it's a good movie, enjjoyable throughout, acting was very top notch, which is kind of different for a Sandler/Rogan movie, it's just nothing too special. Wait till it's on DVD and rent it...

Jeritron 08-01-2009 01:05 AM

Funny People 9/10.

It's something special, don't wait til it's on dvd to rent it....

IC Champion 08-01-2009 01:28 AM

You're something special.

Jeritron 08-01-2009 02:15 AM

That's the opposite of being nothing too special

Supreme Olajuwon 08-01-2009 03:35 AM

Funny People 85%

was not what I was expecting at all and I couldn't tell if I wanted to feel sorry for Sandler or hate him, but I was captivated the whole 146 minutes.

FearedSanctity 08-01-2009 08:11 AM

The Killing Room 8/10

Triple Naitch 08-01-2009 09:21 AM

Funny People - 8.5/10

Pretty much everything Supreme and Jeritron said.

PorkSoda 08-01-2009 12:15 PM

What about what I said?

Legend Killer 08-01-2009 12:51 PM

Funny People 8.5/10, different for Apatow. The acting was great and it is by far Sandler's best performance, yes you will love him at times and yes you are going to hate him at times. The Russian guy almost killed me during this movie!!! His one liner at the bar is memorable!

El Fangel 08-01-2009 12:53 PM

Walk Hard: 8.5/10 - one of the funnier movies I have watched.

ClockShot 08-02-2009 10:56 AM

Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey - 2/5

I want most of the 90 minutes of my life back. Wasn't all that bad.

thedamndest 08-02-2009 04:39 PM

There is no point in watching Bill and Ted now if you didn't when you were a kid. If you watched it as a kid you would now love it, but unfortunately the window has closed. A lot of movies are like that, actually.

Jeritron 08-02-2009 05:26 PM

It has to do with nostalgia and not quality. I can watch Home Alone 2 any day but its really an awful movie if you strip down the nostalgia.

There are also movies that contain great nostalgia for me, that are actually amazing movies, like Jaws, Back to The Future, Star Wars, and Terminator 2.

ClockShot 08-02-2009 06:08 PM

Yeah. I hold Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure close to my heart. But I saw Bogus Journey at the wal-mart dump bin and picked it up.

SPOILER: show
I expected another junket in time. Instead they die, go to hell and heaven, and save the future. What pissed me off the most is that George Carlin only gets like 5 minutes of screen time.

gatoconbotas 08-02-2009 08:05 PM

Race to Witch Mountain - 7/10. Pretty good, nothing more than I expected, but not phenomenal. Really wanted some purple light to show up, but alas, it didn't.

New Harry Potter movie. I've never seen Twilight, but I'll see it and it's probably Titanic compared to Potter....

G-Force - 4/10

I don't think there was any need to put the spoiler tag on Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey, due to both its age and the fact that it's Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey.

Impeccable 08-03-2009 05:05 AM

The Good German - 3/10

Clooney film...twas okay

Impeccable 08-03-2009 05:09 AM

Role Models - 8.5/10
Mr. Brooks - 8/10
The Legend of Lucy Keyes - 7.5/10

Loose Cannon 08-03-2009 10:49 AM

D Mac 08-03-2009 05:18 PM

Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li 7/10

mitch_h 08-03-2009 07:53 PM

Taken - Rises, like a Pheonix from the ashes of the Bush Administration... implausable, conservative, yet oh so satisfying. 7/10

The Dreamers - 8/10

A Matter of Life and Death - 9/10

PorkSoda 08-03-2009 10:09 PM

Army of Darkness 10/10. I thought it sucked at first, but as it went along it got better. Funniest part was with a skeleton, there's a catapult thats throwing rocks and it approaches a skeleton and the skeleton sees it and goes in a deep voice "ahhh". friggen awesome.
