Quatermass and the Pit - 7/10
Hammer Horror remake of an old British sci-fi serial drama from the late 50s. Not bad at all, although I think the TV version was creepier in places. |
A-Team - 3 out of 5
|
Limitless - 8/10
Wasn't keen on the JCVD-esque fighting scenes but enjoyable film. Plus I have a man crush on Bradley Cooper. |
Oz: The Great And Powerful: 5/10
Went to see it on a double date not by choice, never having seen the original.... first time I've ever seen a movie with little kids watching it in front of us.....weird feeling.... movie wasn't terrible and had some alright parts, but not my cup of tea..... |
Project X - 6/10
Made me hate high school "bros" even more. |
Piranha 3DD - 2/10
The only saving grace was Katrina Bowden in it getting FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKED. |
TO THE GOOGLE MACHINE
|
Incredible Burt Wonderstone: 6.8/10
This struck me as a movie with scads of potential that never gets there. The entire movie you had the feeling that right around the corner it was going to turn it into high gear and become something greater, especially taking into account the subject matter of magicians, but it never gets there. One noticeable feature is the cast; the supporting cast is spectacular but Carrell plays what seems to be every character that he's ever played besides Brick Tamland. The rest, especially Carrey, are excellent. Overall, some chuckles and a funny scene with Steve Buscemi in Cambodia, but nothing to make it a "great" comedy. |
Killing them softly 8/10
Almost felt like a Soprano reunion with all the cast members popping up. |
Taare Zameen Par (Like Stars on Earth) - Decent little film about a child with dyslexia, whose parents and teachers think he's simply misbehaving. It had it's touching moments, but at times it went a bit over the top with it and made it all seem a bit melodramatic. I think on average there was a character crying roughly every 5 minutes. It got pretty camp at times as well, which was good to get away from all the unnecessary teary eyed-ness, but made it seem a bit over the top. A whole bunch of the characters were pretty clichéd too. But it was still a nice story, with some good solid acting from the two lead characters as well as the childs mother. Worth a watch at least anyway. The soundtrack was pretty catchy too.

Iginfest for avatar of the year!
Real Steel-7/10 Was expecting a clunker. Instead, I got a pretty entertaining little movie that I was pretty surprised/pleased with. It wasn't anything overly spectacular, and I found the kid a bit annoying at times, but overall I thought it was pretty fun considering its content. |

Wreck-It Ralph: 6/10 - have not seen a Disney movie in a real long time.... times have changed....
|
Oz the Great and Powerful-7/10
Wasn't expecting much at all, and was surprised at how entertained I was. I thought the time they took on Oz and his supporting characters was well done, but good grief was I underwhelmed by Mila Kunis. Not her fault at all, but the writing for that character was really lack luster. Wish they would have played up here impulse and naive ways and saved the heel turn for the final act, maybe even turn heel on her sister. But alas, they breezed over her and we got what we got. Overall, it was an entertaining piece of spectacle. |
Oz the Great and Powerful - 6.5/10
Agree with a lot of what Damien says. It was also unnecessarily too long. They could have cut a shit load and not affected the story. By the time I was ready to go home, there was still like half an hour left. It was still very visually stunning and Michelle Williams looked great in it. |
Wreck-It Ralph: 7/10. Solid movie. Saw the "twist" coming a mile away, though.
|
Alex Cross
Not even sure how to rate this. 2 out of 10? What the fuck was this? They tried way too hard to make this guy look like a psycho. Why he didn't stuff puppies with explosives and use them to blow up kindergardens is unclear to me. Also, why was the guy playing Dr. Cox playing Dr. Cox here? |
Why didn't they make Mama Cross fat and just have Perry play her?
How am I supposed to take him fighting a MMA beast serious? He looks older than he is, he's out of shape. I just can't get over how bad this film was. |

Dunno what's scarier, the gore or the distorted facial surgeries on this character named Beatress that she says she really wanted to look and sound like Betty Boop. O_________O. When I hear her talk and has that twisted face, she reminded me alot of Walking Dead's Clementine!! 7/10. |

do they ever say "Don't cross Cross" in the movie?
|
No, I don't think they do.
And did I expect better? I dunno, I've heard good things about the books, the film is described as a Crime Thriller for some reason, plus I've never seen a single Madea movie, so I thought that maybe I could enjoy it. I mean, sure, I've seen a lot of worse movies in TV and such, but it's rare for me to download a flick so bad and watch it whole way through. |

Zero Dark Thirty - 7/10
The Ultimate Avengers - 2/10 (The comic series was awesome) |
http://horrornews.net/wp-content/upl...vie-poster.jpg
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/l4HgsnZ_OmE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> This was supposed to be a remake of 1976 Who Can Kill A Child? Haven't seen the original cos I can't seem to find anywhere on torrents.. Still, I think this is how Children of the Corn from Stephen King came to be. Decent low budgie horror flick and the director is weird. He posted this movie promo video on youtube wearing a red hooded mask... Don't know if he's trolling or just one of those snuff film directors that wanna "shock and awe" the audience.. Creepy that he even lives in a unknown isolated dark forest with his tent... How ballsy is that. 9/10. |
Watched Jurassic park in 3D at an advance screening, pretty awesome stuff. 9/10
|
G.I. Joe: Retaliation..
Absentee cast: Baroness, Scarlett, Ripcord, and General Hawk. 7/10. Don't expect anything less than the first one... |
Wreck-It Ralph - 70
|
This is 40- 3.7/5, better than I expected
|
Django Unchained - 10/10
Fucking loved the whole movie. Not a big fan of 'long' movies, but this had my attention the whole way. The Perks Of Being A Wallflower - 7/10 Expected this to be a hipster sort of film, but was quite surprised that it was much better than I was expecting. |
Who Can Kill A Child -10/10.
|
New Die Hard - 2.5/10
Fucking ridiculous movie. See my Facebook rant for my exact thoughts. |
Olympus Has Fallen 6.5/10
Despite having this subtle 'AMERICA FUCK YEAH' vibe it's a good action movie and makes you wish that day never comes, no matter how fucked up America can be... ect |
5-Year Engagement - 7.5/10

Evil Dead remake reviews are all over the place..I never was really crazy about the original myself. I'll probably wait til it comes out on disc to see the uncut version since it supposedly got cut a lot to get an R rating. I really don't understand why an nc-17 rating is soooooooo god damned terrible...they'd make much more in theatres if they showed the nc-17 cut
|
So you posted you haven't seen a movie?
Good job. |
Quote:
that's why most movies that come out now usually are pg13 specially during summer.. parents can take some 15 year old kids to an r rated movie but not to an nc 17 rated one that's potential money the studio will lose by making it nc17 |
man with the iron fists 9/10
ted 8/10 |
Jurassic Park 3D- 9/10
Nothing different from the original, don't feel that 3D added all that much. One thing I noticed for the first time, however, is that the kids in the movie are really damn good for kids of their age in a blockbuster type movie with antagonists that dont physically exist. Most child actors can hurt a movie or not bring anything to the table but the kids in this movie are pretty good in their roles. |
G.I. Joe: Retaliation- 10/10
Explosions were tits, action packed, didn't leave the theater to pee when I had to. |
20/10.
Watch this movie at your own fucking risk.. I fucking mean it. Some segments out of 26 based on the alphabets will leave you mind fucked and scarred for sleepless nights.. Believe me.... It felt like all the 26 directors that made those short films are trying to channel much like Jodorowsky or Stanley Kubrick style type of trippy gore torture sick twisted humor that you can ever imagine... Ranging from mutilated woman just to make herself look thinner from being fat, to the pedophilia and masturbation contest which the loser gets a spike up his balls for not climaxing. This is what could've been the whole Final Destination franchise summed up in 26 short films. Think of it as a twisted adult version of Sesame Street's alphabet segments. https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.n...47882191_n.jpg <iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/yDauSZCDfhw" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" width="560"></iframe> |
Jurassic Park 3D - 10/10 because it's fucking Jurassic Park.
But in all seriousness, I liked the 3D. It didn't get in the way, and it worked well for the most part. I didn't care that it was 3D, and that's not why I saw it, and overall it was done pretty well compared to 3D movies I've seen in the past, and considering this wasn't made for it and those were, I think it holds up alright with its 3D. I saw it because I never got to see it in theaters originally, but I've seen it so many times now that I just couldn't pass up the chance. Was everything I hoped it would be. It has aged very well. |
I would love to see Jurassic Park again in the cinema. They always censor aspects of it when televised (i.e. when people are eaten).
Is the 3D version coming to the UK? |
Identity Thief: 6/10
|
Started watching Skyfall. 1st Bond movie ever for me. Rating to follow.
|
Maybe its just a UK thing but I can't believe you've never seen a Bond flick before. Should move on to the Carry On series next.

I think Lock Jaw was the same actually, not sure if he hadn't seen any or just not them all.
|
I've only seen like two or three bond films. All Brosnan. Can't remember anything about them though, don't think I paid much attention.
|
Connery is the only Bond that matters.
|
3.75 out of 5. It was cool. Not really my bag. Spy movies are cool and all but I'm just into all the drawn out cliches and stuff. Still pretty cool.
|
The Evil Dead (1981): 3/10. One of the most overrated flicks I've ever watched.
Evil Dead 2: 8/10. Super fun. Army of Darkness: 7/10. So beyond ridiculous. Succeeds where it does thanks to Bruce Campbell. Evil Dead (2013): 4.5/10. Pretty standard modern day horror flick. Some great gore and cinematography though. |
Re-animator- 7/10
The Evil Dead (1981): 7.5/10 Evil Dead 2: 8/10 Army of Darkness: 7/10 Evil Dead: 7/10 |
Did you two go on a movie date?
|
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh
|
I went with my girlfriend. But I saw the older movies at home, alone.
Anyway- "Dolls" 7/10 Very cool movie by the same dude who made the Re-Animator. |
Seven Psychopaths - 6/10
Director has a lot of QT in him but its not all used right..or something like that. Solid acting performances from everyone even though it got to the point of like a parody movie so the acting felt wasted. Probably could have gotten a 7 had the ending not been a chore. 2 of the characters SPOILER: show |
Evil Dead-8/10
Not a huge fan of going to the theater to see scary movies because I'm a big wimp, but I enjoyed the fuck out of this movie. It wasn't really scary, but man was it gory. And it didn't let up. Just kept coming and coming til the end. Great remake. Loved it. Jurassic Park 3d-10/10 It's Jurassic fucking Park. The movie stands the test of time. The 3d was whatever. There were times where it got in the way because you can't go back and refocus shots, so there were things in the foreground, that weren't the focal point of the shot, that were fuzzy and distracting. There really wasn't anything that called for 3d, but overall, reliving the theater experience of this movie was awesome. |
Tucker & Dale Vs Evil 7.5/10
Surprisingly funny |
Ruby Sparks 7/10
|
The Replacements- 6.3/10
Usual, somewhat predictable late '90's comedy about scab football players during a strike, but there are some decent moments. |
Wreck it Ralph-6/10
it was good and i liked all the video game references but it wasn't near the top of my animated list |
love The Replacements
|
i loved that movie too and that chick was mad hottttt
|
|
|
6/10
|
gonna start rating the last movie that I saw for the first time on the traditional baseball scouting scale of 20-80
|
NSFW: show |
The Lords of Salem- 7.5/10
|
Battle Los Angeles - 2 out of 5
|
Throw Momma from the Train 1987 - 3/10
Not a fan of Billy Crystal at all. Didn't like Danny Devito in this movie. Momma actually made me laugh more towards the end..than the two of them together. Maybe I wasn't supposed to laugh..i dunno |
Hot Coffee (2011) - 8/10
"How the infamous McDonald's hot coffee lawsuit and similar cases were exploited as part of a right wing crusade to weaken civil justice." Was really interesting. Learned things. |
Jurassic Park 3D - Hard to rate. Jurassic Park is a 10/10 in my book but I would have preferred watching it in Regular D and not paying 27 dollars for it. Not really on board with 3D but just wanted to see it in theaters again.
|
I scrolled up and it looks like Damian Ray made that post almost exactly.
|
been gone so long you're now a hack, really a bummer.
|
Oblivion - 8/10.
Felt like watching a live human version of Wall E and Portal 2.. SPOILER: show And I noticed his sniper scope gun almost resembled N7 Viper Rifle minus the long extension barrel with recoil. Fact I realized just now: This is an unpublished sci-fi novel written by the director himself who also made Tron Legacy. Aside from being on cracked.com as the least anticipated movie, it was entertaining. |
Seven Psychopaths 7/10
|
That's it, can we make Raven Reaper a mod of this forum now?
|
Oblivion- 7.3/10
One of the better Sci-Fi motion pictures in recent times, to my liking at least. Cruise had some total ham lines but it is an engrossing story tempered with well done action sequences. Makes me realize, though, that the only optimistic or positive impression of the future rests with the old Jetsons cartoons. Whatever that is worth |
Iron Man 3 - 7/10.
Can I say that we can have Pepper Potts as Iron Woman in the sequels or what? Extra ending after credits: SPOILER: show |
Men in Black 3 - 6/10
|
I watched the documentary Kumaré on Netflix
|
And what did you think of it?
|
The Campaign 6.5/10
Silent Hill 2: 7/10 Resident Evil Retribution: 6/10 |
Evil Dead(1981) 2/10. Fucking hated it.
Army of Darkness 4/10 Fucking disliked it. |
Zombieland - 6/10. It was alright, expected a lot better though considering it's rep amongst most people. Woody Harrelson was great and obviously the Bill Murray cameo was pretty funny but thought the rest of the cast were pretty average and there weren't really many moments that had me laughing a whole lot.
Mama - 5/10. Didn't find it scary at all really. The youngest girl was the scariest part of the whole film. As usual with most horror films, I think the film was better before you see the ghost fully. As soon as you see the awful cgi stuff it kinda took away any fragment of horror it had. Tend to think it's pretty difficult for anyone to make a movie about a ghost and actually show the ghost. Cast were all fine though, thought the older girl was actually really good for a child actor. |
Rob Zombie's Lords of Salem - 7/10.
Think of it as a mixture orgy of: Rosemary's Baby/Disney's Hocus Pocus/Cannibal Holocaust and Stanley Kubrick-ish final act. The appearance of the Dimmu Borgir-ish demon was completely unnecessary and it almost reduced the serious horror stuff into a Cradle of Filth music video. I also liked the reference to Manson's Long Hard Road out of Hell music video in the final act of Heidi's transformation. Is it just me or those 3 old women esp. the redhead one reminded me sooo much of the trio in Disney's Hocus Pocus? One of them even has a Bette Midler vibe minus the humor. |
Iron Man 3 - 7/10
|
The Villain(1979)- 6.37/10
A western comedy, live action Coyote and RoadRunner cartoon starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ann-Margaret and Kirk Douglas with cameos by other comedians of the time such as Paul Lynde, Ruth Buzzi and Foster Brooks. It isn't the contemporary "frat pack" variety of comedy but the novelty of such a movie existing is amazing. It's not completely side splitting funny or anything, but to see the #1 action star of all time and a Hollywood legend like Douglas doing such a movie is sure funny. |
Goon: 8/10. Reallyy enjoyed this movie.
|
Iron Man 3 - 8/10
|
Iron Man 3 - Fuck yeah
|
Seeking a Friend for the End of the World - 65
Thought it was quite good, and it made me feel feelings. Would've liked it to be funnier with all of the incredibly talented funny people in it but that's not what it was going for. |
Dark Skies - 5/10.
|
I saw Iron Man 3 in beautiful IMAX 3D today.
|
iron man 3 7/10 i liked it a lot
|
Bourne Legacy - 5/10
not nearly as good as the first 3 |
