He’ll look valiant in losing and the story will be that he took the match too early on in his career so they can come back to it. If they want to be cute, they can shove AJ Styles out there to bang the mat for him and check on him after the match as his trainer to set up Reigns vs. Styles for Survivor Series or something.

Just repackage him under a new identity in NXT. Or use him as Ezekiel Samson down there, since he’d technically be a rookie. I’ve got zero desire for the guy strumming his guitar on Raw or SmackDown.

I’d be fine with him showing up as Elias for the Halloween Raw, but he’s Ezekiel playing Elias because it’s Halloween. If he can segue that into something (EE Samson?) then fine. But Elias is a step back.

It is an easy Main Event that isn't necessarily for our consumption. Casual folks who heard of Logan Paul? They'll eat this shit up. And you get the "Who is this God of a man beating up my Logan!?" Reaction. Logan will be able to do his shit, and Reigns will carry him and make him look good.

It is a brilliant move, financially.

Yeah, fair point. I can see Triple H and Stephanie trying to give them more focus, which could help in one aspect. The talent being jet-lagged, the familiarity the crowd has with the product, the heat, etc. are all still going to be factors. It’s a tough situation for Logan actually.

I get why people are excited. Triple H’s heart is in the right place. I’m not feeling the timing of this though. And I think the stip should come about from the feuds and not be announced so far out ahead of time. And there isn’t going to be blood, so it won’t feel like authentic War Games.

Sometimes I think about how things would have been different if Cornette had stuck around for SmackDown. He’d probably have gone insane. You need him to have different DNA. But he was getting out at the time Vince Russo was getting out too. It’d have been interesting hearing Cornette calling Angle, Jericho, Benoit and Guerrero matches, and being there alongside the rise of Triple H.

I really, REALLY hope we don’t get The Fiend back. That being said, it apparently moved a lot of merch. Triple H seems to be having fun, but at the end of the day, he is going to want it punctuated by success so he can keep doing the things he wants to do. What should the War Games matches be at Survivor Series? It’d make sense to pit the Bloodline against 5 babyfaces, but who would you choose? Roman seems to have the most heat with Brock, Drew and Matt Riddle. That’s a good start to a team, but you’re always going to leave out top faces from that equation. And it kind of ends up feeling like a mismatch.

I’m guessing Brock won’t actually be in, but that would kind of be a shame. Does it make sense to put a babyface Owens on the other side? That’s something I see them doing, although I don’t know why the face team would trust Owens. I also see Rollins being involved just because of his history with Reigns.

Something about the timing just doesn’t feel right to siphon 5 guys into a multi-man against Reigns. Roman’s going to smash Logan Paul at Crown Jewel. How does that lead to this? Logan Paul’s been most linked with AJ Styles and Ricochet.

Maybe it just ends up being The Brawling Brutes vs. Imperium or something, lol. And Damage Ctrl on the women’s side against three faces. Whatever.

If it were up to me, he wouldn’t be coming back. He is a good talker and he’s not atrocious in the ring, but almost all the Bray Wyatt stuff on the main roster has been awful and the sort of stuff I really don’t want to see from my wrestling. There’s a giant gulf between me and people who lap the silly clown stuff up.

I think Braun sucks too. It’s all too hokey for me.

This might be getting a bit complicated, but I don’t hate the idea of sides needing their members to qualify for War Games. For example, Sami Zayn could earn a spot on Roman’s team, but Jey Uso misses out to Kofi Kingston or something. I dunno, I’m just spit-balling here.

I actually feel War Games would be stronger if Seth was on Roman’s team and that gave Matt Riddle more reason to go on the face side.
