I think it's just a generic kart racer to show what the thing does. Not an actual game.

Although my hesitation with Fallout now, is that it's dead world with drab browns and greys will look unimpressive after playing in skyrim's lush forests, and incredible mountainscapes.

drave 01-10-2013 01:13 PM

Nah....

The post apocalyptic thing will still work. If anything, their stories have always been more compelling than the Fallout stories, IMO. Will still be a great title.

I just want to know who came up with the idea for the statue in the first place.

And then I want to know how the hell it got signed off on to go into production.

I think the outrage about the torso statue is purely because it's shaped like the torso of an attractive woman. Slim and model like.
If it were shaped like the torso of an overweight woman, it would likely be seen as a really dark, grotesque joke. If it were the torso of a male of any build, I don't think anyone would care at all.

I don't mind the CDC looking into this so much as the double standard we have running.

The CDC will be far less biased than most of the folks who do research, whi tend to do so with an ax to grind and publish sensationalist links (though the evidence they present doesn't demonstrate the causal links they tend to claim).

So what exactly is the problem with having a reliable body look into the potential effects in a way that really hasn't been done before?

Seems like gamers have the same problem the anti-gamers do: they work backwards from the answer they want and try and justify it.

Why not let a serious organisation do a most likely accurate investigation and possibly clear the air on an issue that has already led to numerous lawsuits, taxpayer expenses, and wasted hours in legislative bodies from town to federal level?

And while we're at it, why not do the same for firearms?

And I'm totally upgrading to that the first chance I get!

ClockShot 01-26-2013 08:49 PM

Got a question. I wasn't gonna whip up a new thread because I'd figure I'll get a next post answer. And we kinda don't have a type of "100k replies thread" here on the VG board.

Going for all achievements on 360 on a game. However, there's some attached to some DLC that I do not want to purchase. The question is, does the icon still show up on your completion list when you get all original achievements in a game?

Stupid question it may be, but I'm just don't wanna shell out the points just for full completion.

Kane Knight 01-26-2013 08:59 PM

It may have changed, but the extra points areneeded for full completion once the game is out. I think it even takes away your completion if you had it.

ClockShot 01-26-2013 09:03 PM

That's what I thought.

It must have changed fairly recently because when Omega came out for ME3, point total didn't increase, and the icon is still there.

*sigh* Decisions, decisions.......

Kane Knight 01-26-2013 09:17 PM

I think I still have credit for Monday Night Combat, but I've got several games where the new achievements seem to have removed my completionist icon, even if I haven't played them.

drave 01-28-2013 01:32 PM

You would think they wouldn't wanna do it that way, but they do.

I have the same problems with games that have requirements that are multiplayer-only achievements..... sooooooooooooooo annoying!!!

Example: In Borderlands 2 there are in-game challenges (that lead to achievements) that require you to be a passenger of a vehicle and manning the gun while moving, getting X amount of kills on Y enemies.

On a side note, my son decided to grab hold of my disc tray and yank on it this morning before I left for work. Now it doesn't even close all the way. Going to try to realign it without taking it apart, but I managed to get some Torx screwdrivers if I absolutely have to get in there.

No moar Skyrim for a bit..... that makes me sad :(

LoDownM 01-28-2013 04:04 PM

So get someone to play split screen with you so you can get that Borderlands 2 achievement, you don't HAVE to be online for that one. Not a good example.

Actually, do any BLT Achievements require you to be online?

LoDownM 01-28-2013 07:37 PM

You have to revive someone that is on your friends list, but I think that's the only one without looking up the secret achievements I don't have.

ClockShot 01-28-2013 08:03 PM

I'll be damned. The Vigil crew made it out of the THQ fallout pretty good.

Kalyx triaD 01-28-2013 08:10 PM

Great, but I dread what Crytek will do with the team now.

LoDownM 01-28-2013 10:01 PM

Make good games still?

Here's the thing. If there's talent, it generally gets picked up. If there's promise, it generally gets picked up.

How are the various Skyrim DLCs? I know there's a full thread, but don't feel like reading the whole thing.

Fignuts 01-29-2013 02:46 AM

Dawn guard is okay. Hearthfire is basically a really simplified mine craft.

Dragon born is the best. Takes you well outside of skyrim into a new land.

drave 01-29-2013 11:22 AM

I thoroughly enjoyed Dawnguard, playing through the Dawnguard story now, actually. If you take the time to take in the game, read the various books around, etc. The DLC has much more substance. If you wanna barrel through it, it will take around 5-6ish hours to complete. the new areas are awesome (im0) as well as some of the new spells you can get (currently on my caster).

Didn't care to build my own house, I skipped Hearthfire. Dragonborn is a must have DLC for this title, especially if you are a long time fan of the Elder Scrolls universe.

Didn't work for me the first go, but I'll try again. I just had my son plug in another controller and shot stuff up while he drove.

Let's not leave out the dueling xD

alvarado52 01-29-2013 01:27 PM

Battlefield 3 premium is on sale on Live. Kind of want to bite but I don't think anyone plays it anymore on my friends list and it's not a game you can just go solo on

Kalyx triaD 01-29-2013 01:42 PM

If it means anything to you I will hop on when the CTF stuff launches.

alvarado52 01-29-2013 03:13 PM

That hasnt launched yet?

Kalyx triaD 01-29-2013 03:15 PM

Don't think so.

drave 01-29-2013 04:07 PM

mmmmmmm.....

BF3. Must start playing again, especially if premium is on sale. :D

Grand Theft Aircraft: A Pulp Adventure.

Xero 01-30-2013 04:00 PM

GTA in a setting similar to Futurama's New New York would be fucking amazing.

Kalyx triaD 01-30-2013 04:17 PM

I rather it be a future setting without the '50's idea of the future' with tube slides and flying cars. Just something of an 'advanced' setting in a subtle way. Not so subtle it'd be pointless, but not super sci-fi either.

Kane Knight 01-30-2013 04:26 PM

GTA: Steelport.

drave 01-30-2013 04:35 PM

A Ghost in the Shell GTA style game could be awesome too :)

Love the series & movies, and their future doesn't seem to far fetched.

Cool King 01-30-2013 06:00 PM

So I was told this week by one of my lecturers at university that around April/May I'll be giving a presentation on the game I've been working on with my team.

Nothing big there, but he did go on to say that it'll be happening when my university hosts some convention for people in the games industry, so he said there's a big chance that I could be doing my presentation infront of guys from Ubisoft, EA, Rockstar North and other big names and that in the past, people from the games companies that have attended have liked what they've seen and given out apprenticeships and all that.

Pretty insane stuff.

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-30-2013 06:26 PM

Awesome!

Whatever you do don't picture them naked. They probably all fat.

Kalyx triaD 01-30-2013 07:29 PM

Good luck.
