All they have seen is Reigns (who is not a popular guy) beat him handily twice in a row (albeit in good matches)

He also lost to Jericho at the biggest event of the year before that.

And now, we have to buy him as a threat to the biggest star of the last decade? Sorry, but not convinced.

The vast majority?

Do you realize it is 2016? There are 9 year olds who can google search "asian blonde anal gangbang with carrots" and incur accurate results and get educated on that particular subject.

If you really think that people who have seen AJ Styles in WWE and have liked his shit (who hasn't?) ARE NOT going online and pulling up his old infamous indie/TNA matches, then you're crazy.

He is a breath of fresh air and 38 years old. His time should be now. 3 straight PPV losses off the bat and straight into a feud with Cena.

My previous post not withstanding, I do agree with you on this. AJ should not be losing as much as he is. Frankly, they should not have turned him heel so soon into his initial run, as he was easily the biggest face in the company up until a couple weeks ago. I guess that's the point though. No one can overshadow Reigns.

Not saying most fans aren't on the internet, but have you see the numbers TNA draw?

Lots of fans are interested in the here and now of WWE, but I think it is fair to say, and obvious to look at numbers, that the vast majority don't watch wrestling outside WWE.

Sure, some are probably looking at a few older matches out of interest, but I would still maintain that the vast majority know 90% of AJ Styles from how he has been presented in the WWE.

Even if they did look at matches from the past, it would have little to no effect on how they perceive him in WWE.

I'm also iffy on the timing of the AJ heel turn and putting him back with The Club so soon. The more I think about it, the more I think that Ric Flair should still be with Charlotte too. Jason Agnew had a great point about it on one of The LAW's podcasts. Charlotte is already a heel and getting great heat. The Charlotte/Dana dynamic worked better with Flair in there too.

Ol Dirty Dastard 06-05-2016 11:40 PM

fun fact, one of the original co-hosts of the LAW (this is literally from like 17 years ago) Big Daddy Donnie Abreu was a substitute teacher at my high school as well as a basketball coach in the community. He was also kind of a dickhole.

Ol Dirty Dastard 06-05-2016 11:42 PM

I think Jason Agnew was either the fill in producer or regular producer when Donnie was on the show.

Jeff Marek used to host it as well with Dan "The Mouth" Lovranski. Jeff went onto become a hockey guy, but he was really fucking good with wrestling... but it was nice ot have a legit sports journalist do wrestling.

The LAW was the reason I became an internet wrestling mark.

I've wanted AJ as a heel since he showed up so I thought it was time for the heel turn. Didn't think they were going to do it at first but was happy with how they did it. Totally had me going with the Cena/AJ teaming against Gallows and Anderson and when he attacked Cena it was about the most amusing thing that had been on WWE television for a while. As far as Charlotte I think her leaving her dad was perfect timing. Ric is a legend but he doesn't need to be on TV. Rics been horrible and I'm glad Charlotte dropped him so she can develop more without ripping off her dad so much.

Is there a WWE wedding Punk could also ruin? Then they'd be even.

The problem with AJ being a heel is that he is more popular than the faces when he's in the role. I'm sure it will allow him to be an even better performer, but I'll be surprised if they can keep him booed for a whole calendar year.

Ric Flair has been one of the most entertaining things about WWE television recently for me. I think it makes sense to have him out there and cause distractions that allow Dana to get physically involved.

The TNA website was recently updated, and is now pretty much just one page. The "Roster" and "Touring" sections have been removed, and the only links at the top of the site are to the home page and to ShopTNA.com. There are no social media buttons on the site, although there is a section that showcases some tweets. The copyright info in the footer has the wrong year, and the bottom of the site also contains some text to follow Impact Wrestling on Instagram, with no link. -wrestlinginc
