Probably let it slide for the lulz.

Lock Jaw 01-28-2011 08:14 PM

Its all jokes until someone gets a pumpkin bomb in the face.

Kalyx triaD 01-28-2011 08:25 PM

Well that was pretty much the case. lol

Kalyx triaD 01-28-2011 08:37 PM

And the new Venom (comics) is Flash Thompson! I am fucking thrilled because I've been sort of a Flash fan for many years. In fact while watching the 90's Spidey toon, I felt Flash should of been Venom rather than Brock (source material be damned). I liked his scenes in the first Spidey movie and the whole 'picks on Peter but loves Spider-Man' a character generated mixed feelings in me. So yeah, hearing that he's getting a push as the new SpecOp-ified Venom is good news for me. His first challenge will be Kraven the Hunter. Here's hopping he gets to face Spidey himself someday.

Inadequacy 01-29-2011 12:33 AM

I was hoping it would be John Jameson

Rammsteinmad 01-29-2011 03:13 AM

So what's his relationship with Parker like now? Is it still love Spidey/hate Peter, kinda curious as to why they would have to fight each other.

Rammsteinmad 01-29-2011 03:13 AM

And the way he's holding the gun in that picture looks incredibly awkward.

Fignuts 01-29-2011 05:35 AM

There is nothing they can do at this point, to make symbiotes interesting to me anymore. Oversaturation killed them forever for me.

Last time I was excited for anything involving a symbiote, was when sentry ripped carnage in half.

Instead of bringing back venom, they should bring back sentry, so he can throw every remaining symbiote into the sun.

Fignuts 01-29-2011 05:37 AM

Also, wtf, I know Flash served in the military, but have they referenced that at all, in the last like, 20 years? Has he ever even picked up a gun in that time?

Stupid.

He rejoined the military a few years ago to fight in Iraq. And he came back home missing a few limbs.

Fignuts 01-29-2011 06:12 AM

Well then he obviously wasn't very good at it, so it still doesn't make sense.

The Destroyer 01-29-2011 09:02 AM

To be fair, it did earn him a recommendation for the Medal of Honor. Crazed heroics and the like.

Nowhere Man 01-29-2011 02:05 PM

Have they said that this Venom is actually a symbiote? Because he doesn't look particularly symbiote-ish to me.

Kalyx triaD 01-29-2011 06:39 PM

It is. And they're smarter about it this time, Flash has to remove the creature after a few days so he doesn't suffer the ill effects. We'll see how long that lasts, though.

Lara Emily 01-29-2011 06:42 PM

Venom needs to die off or go back to classic Brock, but preferably just die off. That new Venom looks awful and really Flash Thompson? Super lame.

Kalyx triaD 01-29-2011 06:51 PM

Super awesome.

Lara Emily 01-29-2011 06:52 PM

Not every character needs to have super powers

Kalyx triaD 01-29-2011 06:57 PM

Very true. Some of my favorite characters from our planned comic line have no powers.

Good to see the Spider-Mobile makes an appearance in this film!

I'm so jealous of Chris Evans.

GB: How much you weighing?

Hugh Jackman: Right now, I’m at 210.

GB: Wow, so you’re going to be bigger this time? Last time, you looked about, what, 190?

HJ: Yeah, right, I was 190, something like that. I don’t know how much I want to give away about it, but Darren said with the last one, ‘Hey you looked great, but you’re so tall that in those long shots you looked kind of like Clint Eastwood, and that’s not Wolverine.” He said that Wolverine, in the comics, is powerful, stocky, you know, he’s short and thick. So he said, ‘I want you to go there, get bigger.’ He’s going to come down after he gets done with all the black-tie events over and done with.
Thanks, Darren!

So today we are more than happy to bring you a list of young up and coming actresses who are testing for a new female sidekick part in Joss Whedon’s “The Avengers”. Samuel L. Jackson, Nick Fury himself, told the Jimmy Fallon audiences last night that he would be meeting with five actresses tomorrow for a sidekick position opposite his character, and today THR reports that four of the five young ladies are Morena Baccarin, Jessica Lucas, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Cobie Smulders.
While I presume the character in question is SHIELD mainstay, Maria Hill (who Morena would be perfect for), I gotta have hopes for my perfect woman Jessica Lucas. This could be her break, though she doesn't seem suited for Maria Hill (if she's the character).

Notes:

- Nick Fury will appear in Captain America and Thor this summer.
- Chris Evans is set to be Cap in six movies. What ratio of Captain America to Avengers movie aren't said. Bear in mind he could appear in Iron Man and that could count. Many of these deals are unique in that actors are signed to appear as their characters, but not signed to particular movies. The sixth movie could be Civil War for all we know. I imagine Marvel will push out bargain priced movies and save big spending for cross over films. They'd also have the actors rotate as to service their own careers and keep them 'fresh'. So Chris Evans may cameo as Cap in Iron Man 3 and then star in Captain America 2 the year after. These are just my stab at 'industry analyzing'.

Sixx 02-04-2011 08:07 AM

Errr, Cobbie Smulders as Maria Hill would most definetely not work.

And Morena Baccarin? We know she looks hot even if short hair, so yeah.

It might not be maria hill. I would guess it's Daisy Johnson, his protege in the comics since secret war.

Rammsteinmad 02-04-2011 04:36 PM

Every pic I see of Chris Evans makes me more and more jealous.

Confused 02-04-2011 04:56 PM

They done a great job with the Captain America costume.

Be interesting to see how they modify it for the modern day parts of the movie.

Kalyx triaD 02-04-2011 04:59 PM

Fuck that, use the same one.

If I were in charge I'd quite happily let that happen.

Seeing as its a movie company looking to make a profit making the decisions...

Kalyx triaD 02-04-2011 05:29 PM

Sure, Halloween season and such.

Fignuts 02-04-2011 05:36 PM

Fairly confident he'll be using the same look, present day.

Confused 02-04-2011 05:46 PM

Fingers crossed they do. I'm not so confident though.

Would have to say, of all the superhero costumes I've seen put together for movies, this Captain America costume is by far the best.

Miotch 02-04-2011 06:49 PM

http://www.joblo.com/newsimages1/captain%20empire1.jpg

I'm guessing that's from the newer part of the film based on the head gear.

Doesn't she look the same as Maria Hill anyway?

Graspbymyself 02-04-2011 07:09 PM

Why is the Johnny Storm playing Captian America? What the hell is Marvel thinking? They fuck up the stories to "keep it fresh" then cast the same actor for two different but huge roles in the Marvel universe. Hollywood just blows the big one.
