Now this is what I call being a true fan

#1-norm-fan 04-29-2022 02:16 AM

Lashley took a dangerous spill tonight because Vince’s lack of attention to detail has deteriorated from just his storytelling to simply making sure the ring works. :nono:

Sepholio 04-29-2022 07:01 AM

Am I seeing that right? Did one of the ropes actually snap in the middle?

Jordan 04-29-2022 08:33 AM

You can see that he landed in a rather safe way, at least on the apron. Hopefully he didn't land on top of his head though.

drave 04-29-2022 09:18 AM

Look like Drew hit it right before Lashley..... like not even a full second, and he went over like that.

Ouch though.

#1-norm-fan 04-29-2022 09:36 AM

Yeah, Drew lightly hitting the ropes is what forced the top rope to give way. They look really loose.

It didn't give way from the corner though. If you slow-mo it the rope snaps in the middle. I'd figure that would be more likely if the ropes were too tight. Maybe the rope had finally just worn out after repeated use for however long they've been using that particular set.

This dude Walt Clyde (I think) keeps popping up in my YouTube feed (never watched a video of his), he’s another dude making a little bit of money appealing to the WWE cultists (maybe start a YT channel xrod?). Dude legit thinks WWE are following his channel because he suggested they should book Cody to take the title of Reigns, and there are small hints towards that happening. He’s in a “feud” with this JDfromNY guy (who I guess is another YouTuber?) who’s seemingly an AEW cultist. I don’t know if he went back through the timeline and took the screenshots himself but he definitely posted it on his community channel.

Always used to use Bret’s blue gear on one of the old NES games where it was an option.

Ol Dirty Dastard 04-30-2022 03:16 PM

Yeah love me some blue Hart foundation. There were black and goldish alternates I believe. May have been more yellow, sort of like the Killer Bs.

They had some GREAT matches even before going all pink.

I was watching some AWA recently, because it’s a part of wrestling history that I’m aware existed, but I don’t really spend much time thinking about. Verne did a show called Super Sunday in 1983. I’m pretty sure it’s on the Network. Pretty surreal to see Hogan not only not in yellow or blue trunks, but actually wrestling someone else wearing yellow.

Mr. Nerfect 05-01-2022 02:13 PM

Random wrestling memory I’ve got: I was on holiday with my family as a kid so my folks let me rent some videos from the local video store. They had some wrestling tapes from way back that I had never been able to grab before. The two I managed to grab were Rumble ‘92 and Mania X. I’m pretty sure the clerk kept them stocked because of just how good they were (most of the others were more modern releases).

100.

The general rule was that you wore tights to hide your legs (Edge, HBK, Jericho). Hall did not have that issue.

Mr. Nerfect 05-02-2022 08:43 AM

I think Bobby Lashley is the exception. Switching to the longer gear somehow made him look more big time.

Lock Jaw 05-02-2022 09:19 AM

Probably because he was at the "I don't care about this guy at all" stage that most WWE rasslers get to, so switching up his look a bit helped for a revitalization.

:n: I fucking loved that show. It was such a different perspective than most wrestling documentaries and podcasts. A lot of wrestling personalities (i.e. Jim Ross) took it too personally imo and saw it as "burying the business" but I disagree because it was made to look at the negative side and tragedies of wrestling.

Ol Dirty Dastard 05-02-2022 03:14 PM

Kerry is the most bizarre one for me to think about. I know he started young but the guy seemed like he fit in all the makings of a full career before he died despite the fact that if he were alive today he’d be younger than Sting. It’s crazy to think how much he could have done and could still be doing if not for the Von Erich “curse”.

noam dar and sha samuels are a delight on nxtuk. the supernova sessions is usually a very effective and to the point interview segment.

pretty excited for this isla dawn/meiko satomura title match. meiko is obviously great, but isla dawn has come a long way since nxtuk kicked off. this feud with meiko has really brought it out of dawn.

will be interesting to see how this influx of NA talent (von wagner, damon kemp, ivy nile, lash legend, i think that's it?) goes in nxtuk.

isla dawn carrying around a lock of dani luna's hair like she's shaska whatley

BUT THERE AIN'T NO BOOGIE WOOGIE MAN IN THE MIX BABY

ron the dial 05-05-2022 03:59 PM

solid defense by meiko. even with this match being a "world of darkness" gimmick match at dawn's request, it didn't feel gimmicky. this feud actually had time to breathe, from isla as just a "plucky" challenger on her first attempt, turning heel by her second, and going full gimmick on the third. meiko just remained the badass "final boss" that she is.

Isla Dawn would get it

there's a gif i saw a while back from a match between her and ivelisse and it was nothing but wonderful butts.

First AEW brings in Baron and now WWE rips off the Shaska/Boogie storyline? The TPWW Thursday Night Watch-along is truly a juggernaut.

WWE should bring back Damian Sandow to play Elias.

The match Tricky Rick MacDonald and Billy The Body Youngblood had with their opponents on Tagteam seemed to incorporate some audience dancing.
