So around two days ago, the WWE uploaded a video of Barrett talking about the World Cup, but when he spoke about England, they showed the British flag.

I thought I would just leave a comment pointing out that they used the wrong flag, and that it should be the English flag and not the British flag, and around five minutes after I posted the comment, the video disappeared. It's now appeared again, but with the flag changed to the English flag.

Maybe the WWE does listen to it's fans.

But only over little things such as flags.

Recent Jericho podcast episode had Drew McIntyre as his guest. One of the most interesting thing from it was 3MB had the chance to become actual groupies with their gimmick.

Quote:

3MB was actually supposed to split on the episode of RAW last year where Mark Henry faked his retirement. A few hours before the show started, they were told that they were going to face Chris Jericho. The stipulations? If Jericho won, 3MB would have to break up. And if 3MB won, Jericho would have to let them tour with Fozzy. The match/idea was nixed and Jericho just ended up wrestling and beating Heath Slater instead.

JBL & Cole Show probably saved Heath Slater's job

Tom Guycott 06-20-2014 11:51 PM

So, for clarification sake: is The JBL & Cole show now what NXT had become in that area post pseudo "Tough Enough" contest and pre-developmental brand, minus Johnny Curtis with cloroform?

And Heath Slater isn't exactly "awful"... he has loads of charisma and charm hidden underneath that horrendously cartoony drawl.

And I still believe this Fox/Dust thing should translate into actual WWE continuity. I legit LOL'd at Big E's "fuck this noise" look after seeing his suggestion fail. "Can you break these?"

I listened to that podcast and it was pretty interesting. Drew (the man, not the character) reminded me a lot of myself, just the way he spoke for example, and that he seemed to be a bit reserved/shy sometimes. Jericho really kept trying to pull information out of him but Drew would find ways to avoid giving him clear answers. Though Jericho did manage to get it out of Drew that he would like to face AJ Styles one day and also that he would love to wrestle in Japan. I think Drew would do great in Japan.

Drew had a lot of ideas for 3MB but according to him, they always got shot down. One I was surprised at that got shot down, was that Adam Jones from Tool, offered to appear in vignettes with 3MB and teach them how to play a simple piece on guitar, and would allow them to appear at their gigs and so on, all for free. But Vince or Dunn or whoever, said no. Drew kept saying that since 3MB's formation, they were pretty much dead in the water. It made me think why would Vince say so to this stuff. :-\

Also, Drew said that right before 3MB was formed, he had a match with Jinder on Superstars where he was the face, as Vince wanted to see how he would do as a face. That could have been interesting is that took off, but then we wouldn't have had 3MB.

Though I do think it's cool that when asked what his most memorable/special moment with the WWE was, he said it was when he was at a house show in Glasgow and he was given the mic and was able to thank the fans and also his parents who were in attendance. He then proceeded to get a spotlight to shine on them while he spoke about the night his parents conceived him. The reason I think it's cool is because I was there that night. It's cool that I was a "part" (I guess you can say) of his most memorable/special moment with the WWE.

Whole podcast made me really sad. The guy was talented with a great looks and enough unique about him to really make it big and WWE chucked it all away. A stable/feud with Sheamus and/or Barrett, given their history would have been great.

Listened to Vader on Austin's podcast the other day and he was talking about how in Europe they used to wrestle in rounds and how it could work as a once a night/special occasion type deal even today in WWE to add some variety.

Made me want to see a Barrett/McIntyre/Regal/Sheamus group that took the US Title, replaced it with the European Championship (major heat right there in the US) and would only defend it in "European Style" matches. Could generate so much heat where the babyface is about to win but the heel is saved by the bell, or with the heel cheap-shoting the face at the end of the round, etc.

Obviously they could still do this but without Drew. Hope he ends up in TNA.

whiteyford 06-21-2014 12:33 PM

Yeah my dad keeps going on about the rounds/public warnings and the like from world of sport era, would just like them to reintroduce time limits as a regular thing. There was a feud in the late 90s where the matches kept ending by time limit, wanna say HHH was involved, they just extended the time limit for a couple of weeks and eventually the PPV match stip was no time limit, really simple logical booking that could add a bit of drama if used right.

Drew will be fine though, really underutilized talent.

I've been coming across a few people on the internet that are jumping to conclusions and saying that Drew will definitely be going to TNA.

Their reason for thinking that is because Drew said on Jericho's podcast that he wanted to "make an impact".

Not gonna deny, I'm totally amazed at how awesome Dean Ambrose works as a face.

Let's be honest here, everybody here always figured Ambrose would eventually turn out to be the 'snake-in-the-grass' that turned on the Shield. But so far his crazy, revenge-driven face persona is pretty awesome.

I still wish the Shield were together though. :(

Lock Jaw 06-21-2014 04:50 PM

Ambrose seemed to be the most pissed off at Rollins and being the crazy guy he is, he won't stop until he finally gets Rollins and kicks his ass.

Reigns on the other hand, is angry at Triple H for everything Triple H has done to him (and also Ambrose) recently. (The attacks on The Shield that Triple H coordinated, the handicap matches that Triple H set up, The whole Evolution/Shield feud, as both men were the leaders of each group, and Triple H forbidding Roman Reigns from entering the battle royal this week) Reigns wants to get back at Triple H for all that.

So both Ambrose and Reigns are focusing on/after two different guys, so they quietly went their separate ways to go after those separate men, disbanding The Shield in the process. Though I'm sure they're still going to work together every now and then, as Triple H and Rollins will most likely be doing that too.

He would also widen his stance. Genius. I miss Matt Striker.

Renee could probably be doing it to make wrestlers look taller or maybe it's so her heels don't make that "clip-clop" sound when she's walking with/over to wrestlers to interview them.

Innovator 06-22-2014 09:15 AM

Yeah Renee also stands wide legged a lot to make herself shorter, because she's a delight and professional

Shadrick 06-22-2014 11:15 AM

As everyone has already stated, its to make the guys look taller and more like their billed height.

Rollins got the short end of the stick. Awful gear and an even worse theme. Glad somebody kept the Shield theme even if it was unnecessarily remixed. Ambrose's theme is a bit generic but the opening is still distinctive and it fits a crazy person. Ditto with his look. Basic but it works.

The only complaint I'd have is that Ambrose should still be entering from the crowd. Especially with his new look. Would make it appear that he just drove up to the arena with his only goal being to fuck shit up.

I'm pretty much addicted to Stardust's theme at the moment.

I really hope it gets released on iTunes soon.

Emperor Smeat 06-22-2014 05:52 PM

Current rumors from the dirtsheets are both Austin Aires and Samoa Joe are the possible next big stars to leave TNA with both looking at going to ROH. Doesn't seem to be money issues and more booking committee issues.

Stardust. Lol. Cody has gold there. I hope he makes it into the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, actually.

Dean Ambrose's new look and theme are pretty cool (Ambrose's theme reminds me of The Joker's theme from Batman), but I feel that the aesthetic change for Ambrose has come a bit soon. If The Authority hate the guy so much, why give him new music? It kind of shatters the fourth wall a bit.

I hope he wins the contract at Money in the Bank. An insane Ambrose with the briefcase? Awesome.

Mr. Nerfect 06-22-2014 07:09 PM

As for Drew McIntyre? He was a good worker and handsome fellow. I can see the WWE giving him another run if he spends some time getting even better in the ring and working on his promo skills and presentation beyond looking the part. Japan would be an excellent place for him.
