On the whole Brock/Ambrose thing: #fan nails it on the head again. You didn't need to have Ambrose win the match. In fact, if I had my WrestleMania plans, it kind of wouldn't have made sense for him to win. If you had Ambrose beat Brock, he's got to be main event bound, and that doesn't seem to be the direction right now. Fine.

The problem is that the match was really abridged. The story at the start was really good. Of course Brock is going to throw Dean around. Brock teased like he didn't need weapons, but then Ambrose gets some shine. Heyman sold this brilliantly. Then Brock...didn't need weapons and just won the match in a second.

I don't mind Ambrose not kicking out of two F5's. I don't mind Ambrose not even breaking Cena's 16 SummerSlam suplex count. But at some point, Brock should have snapped, used a weapon, and THEN killed Ambrose once it had all built to a crescendo. Whatever.

Gayle tells us the 44 year-old wrestler took a bad spill last week and was unable to walk very well because of it — but she’s unsure if the two incidents are related at this point.

This week, Pop bumped the Impact replay from their night late Tuesday night schedule in favor of a three-hour movie ...

It makes financial sense for Pop, which generally draws more ad revenue for an acquired movie or soap opera re-run despite drawing fewer viewers. Even in the late-night timeslot, it appears Pop decided they can draw more revenue airing something different in the Impact replay time period.

PWTorch obtained the following ad sales information capturing Pop’s business position.

The March 29 TNA Impact generated $18,414 in ad revenue, which was less than half of its “Days of Our Lives” lead-in. Impact also generated less money for a 30-second ad than an acquired movie ...

Part of the issue for TNA is that Pop is geared toward female viewers, as evidenced by the soap opera programming line-up and movies like “You’ve Got Mail.” TNA’s audience flips to male-heavy viewership, creating the challenge of trying to sell Impact individually to specific advertisers ...

TNA’s strength is bringing in more total viewers than any other program on the network. However, the show has yet to bring in the ad dollars of lower-rated re-runs.

Report on what caused POP TV to drop Impact's replay status on their network. http://www.pwtorch.com/site/2016/04/...-night-replay/

He’s said nothing past that he’s working the New Japan Super Juniors tournament which is in May and June, and then talking time off and not taking bookings

The contract situation is such that the belief is Mann (Ricochet) is done with the promotion, but they believe it won’t be until 2017 that he can go to WWE because of the stips in his deal regarding the non-compete. I don’t know how serious this is, but we were told by someone internally that there is talk of resurrecting the character for season four, if there is a season four, and if Mann isn’t available, putting someone else in the character because it’s one of the key characters on the show

We had guys shitting bricks that Rusev would slide into "midcard comedy" fodder following his programme with Cena and you come up with this. What a difference a year makes!

That said, he should have rebranded the US Championship as the Russian Federation Championship during his run, much like Storm did in WCW.

Tom Guycott 04-14-2016 05:57 PM

I was never a huge fan of Rusev to begin with, so that was never really a "fear" with me. With that said, though, he was called up while WWE was still in that "immediate impact or bust" frame of mind. He was supposed to be the new big bad of the roster just on how he looks.

His whole "generic heel foreigner" thing was super flat. Then, he started basically being buried by his valet by osmosis, since people wanted to fap to her and still not give a shit about him... expidited by that whole "love triangle" nonsense. At least this would have given *some* character. Hell, if handled right, may have even ended up in a possible face turn for the guy.

Better on TV with *something* than who-gives-a-fucksville like this whole League of Nations blandness.

Tom Guycott 04-14-2016 06:05 PM

"Midcard comedy" isn't always necessarily a bad thing. The problem becomes when it becomes all encompassing, and the person never grows/evolves out of that, be it their own shortcomings or the company not seeing anything bigger in that particular talent. Once again, The Rock is a shining example of that. He went from being a guy who thinks he is better than he is to actually being accepted as one of the best ever, and it wasn't an overnight trip. He went from midcard comedy to midcard legit threat tomeventually bigger and better.

Wrestling Torch which ended up getting him fired down the line from WCW. I remember Bill downplaying the whole thing in the Rise and Fall of WCW DVD. Well I ended up hearing the audio last week and yeah.....here's a transcript.

"If you own a business and you put the money in it, why shouldn't you be able to discriminate? It's your business. If free enterprise is going to make or break it, you should be able to discriminate; its your business. It should be that by god, if you're going to open your doors in America, you can discriminate. Why the f--- not? That's why I went into business, so I could discriminate! I mean really. I want to be able to sell to who I want to and be able to serve who I want to. It's my business, it's my investment. So they come in and say no.

I can't tell a fag to get the f--- out. I should have the right to not associate with a fax if I want to. I should have the right to not hire a fag if I don't want to.. I mean, why should I have to fire a f---ing fag if I don't like fags? Fags discriminate against us, don't they? Sure they do. Do Blacks discriminate against Whites? Who's killed more Blacks than anyone? The f---in' Blacks. But they want to blame that bullsh-- 'Roots' that came on the air. That 'Roots' was suck bullsh--. All you have to do if you want slaves is hand beads to the chiefs and they gave you the slaves.

What is the best thing that has ever, ever happened to the Black race? That they were brought to this country. No matter how they got here, they were brought here. You know why? Because they intermarried and got educated. They're the ones running the Black race. You go down to the Black countries and they're all broke. Idi Amin killed more Blacks than we ever killed. You see what I mean? That's how stupid we are. But we get caught up in all this bullsh-- rhetoric. And so it's ridiculous what's happening to our country. Lester Maddox was right. I fI don't want to sell fried chicken to Blacks, I shouldn't have to. It's my restaurant. Hell, at least I respect him for his stand. That doesn't make me anti-Black."
