Nah, but I just like seeing the Cubs continue to founder. It's been over a century and nothing in sports rivals it. The Pirates haven't had a winning season in 20 years and its not even a drop in the ocean to what Cubs fans feel. The Leafs have been an embarassment for years. The stories I could tell you about their former owner Harold Ballard would knock you socks off. He'd be in jail if he did the things he did then. Actually went to jail while he owned the Leafs. No Stanley Cups or even finals appearences since 1967.

Seems like a key candidate to get flipped to a contender, but just like last year Sandy isn't trading anybody if they don't get something of value in return. No intention on trading him just for the sake of trading him.</font>

I'm cautiously optimistic about the Iglesias trade.

Tigers have lots of OF depth so Garcia was expendable. Villareal never impressed me so I don't know, don't mind seeing him go.

Iglesias provides an upgrade in defense over Peralta. JP isn't necessarily "bad", but with Miggy and Prince at the corners you need someone better than average at SS to compensate. Even without a looming Peralta suspension, I like the pickup. Peralta is probably gone as a FA after this season regardless, so it's a great pickup from the Tigers to fill that void. The obvious glove upgrade is good too. Obviously Iglesias' numbers are going to regress and come down a bit but that's fine, if he can hit for decent average and provide good defense that's all we really need from him. The biggest part of the pickup obviously is if Peralta gets suspended (looking more likely by the day it seems), so it's a great insurance pickup.

I continue to despise the Red Sux. I hope Peavy rips his back muscles from his spine again.
