Killer Instinct would be nice to have, but I think a new game would be updated. The original had potential, but was never quite there.

Platinum working on Nintendo franchises would be awesome. Star Fix would be fun, but I'd love a Geist sequel shockingly.
Was it ever established who owns the Eternal Darkness IP? Dammit Nintendo, bring them back since they fucked up going elsewhere. Also buy Rare back. |
Nintendo owns the Sanity Meter which is the most important part of the IP although its never been stated who actually owns the IP.
There was rumors of Retro Studios working on a sequel which would hint Nintendo owns it but every so often Silicon Knights references a potential sequel being possible from them. |
A couple of Bioware related news as the company teases more Mass Effect 3 DLC is on its way, a new universe for future Mass Effect games is possible, and the co-founders are leaving the studio next month.
The general managers from Bioware's Edmonton and Montreal studios, Aaryn Flynn, reveals the company has more plans in store for Mass Effect 3 with more DLC and a possible new setting for the series. He teased the new universe setting could be done for the next Mass Effect game which is currently being developed from the ground-up for next gen systems. Quote:

Zeschuk stated he felt it was more beneficial to himself and the company to leave now since his passion for game development was gone while he wanted to spend more time with his family than his job previous allowed. According to Obsidian Entertainment, major big name gaming publishers and companies have been recently trying to exploit the Kickstarter system.
They state the company have been contacted several times over the past several months from big name publishers who wanted the company to operate Kickstarter projects for them. This was during the same period as the company themselves was preparing and having their own Kickstarter for Project Eternity which ended up being a success. The only catch was if they accepted then several restrictions would be placed such as the project couldn't be revealed as being from the publisher, the refusal to fund any of their money to the project, complete ownership of the IP, and the majority of revenues if the project was successful. A former public relations employee from Sony has recently lashed out against the company saying they are "sending out titles to die" this upcoming holiday season.
His issue is Sony has done a horrible job in terms of focus and priority with the Vita potentially being impacted the worst. He also revealed details of Sony has been trying to over cut their costs to their PR department to the point it now costs them more money to have an outside group do their PR work than their own internal PR branch before. He also criticized Sony for "punishing" their other divisions because of their TV division's string of bad business decisions to the point of becoming one of the biggest money loosing divisions in the company. I'd find new Ecco to be a very odd move for Sega unless they can really lowball the budget. I mean I'd personally love it and I know Bayonetta 2 sales probably wouldn't have set the world alight, but Ecco over Bayonetta 2? That would be very strange indeed.

Ubisoft announces during a recent investor conference they think the free-to-play model should expand on consoles by favoring fully priced games instead of the current focus on free or cheap downloadable games.
Ubisoft revealed they are planning in the near future to start releasing more of their Triple A fully priced games into the free-to-play model on consoles while also hinting the model can easily become the new dominate model for the console market in the near future. The idea is instead of having the free-to-play model favoring actual free games or cheap downloadable games which then add in micro-transactions, the model should start off with a larger fully priced game and then add in more item-based transactions. Companies can then earn more revenues this way than with the current model or even then what the current DLC can provide. Ubisoft’s chief financial officer Alain Martinez said: Quote:

While the Xbox 360 was initially banned in Germany, US courts and the International Trade Commission have overturned the potential of the ban being applied in the United States.
The courts sided with Microsoft who was fighting to keep the system available in the US while Motorola and Google argued it should be pulled due to Microsoft infringing on several patents owned by Motorola. The original case occurred in Germany which was won by Motorola and appealed by Microsoft to the ITC. The ITC deferred the decision to the US courts who recently sided with Microsoft in their decision to dismiss the ban. The legal mess between both sides originally started in regards to a piece of video encoding tech found in the Xbox 360 which Motorola claimed was infringing on a patent they own. Motorola and Google had a feeling they would lose the case in the US which is why earlier they tried to offer a settlement deal with Microsoft who flat out rejected the offer. http://d1vr6n66ssr06c.cloudfront.net...2/09/00207.jpg http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...torola-google/ http://www.destructoid.com/us-court-...s-235899.phtml _______________________________________________________________ Daily Recap: 1) Update to the Mass Effect Trilogy set as Bioware reveals the Xbox 360/PS3 version will have less DLC included than the PC version. Archos is going to be releasing a tablet called the Gamepad, an Android tablet that should operated along similar lines to Ouya (but probably much more expensive). It's a 7 inch screen with a full controller built around it, so sort of like WiiU. It actually looks more like a thinner PSP/Vita.
Archos also claims they're working with Android devs to bring "thousands" of titles compatibility with the controller scheme, so probably like Ouya. Anyway, it's interesting. And I generally like Archos. |
Ubisoft blames the lukewarm reactions towards the Splinter Cell Blacklist trailers as being the fans fault for being "misinformed" more than the company itself not doing a good enough job hyping the game.
In an interview with Eurogamer, David Footman who is the director for the game states the current reception to the game is due to people having "knee-jerk reactions" while the company itself is deliberately being slow giving out information on the overall experience for the game. Quote:

Classic Splinter Cell is dead. Well at least Mercs vs Spies is back and perhaps some people can enjoy the new style of the series.
|
I always love the damage control.
"When you see more, you'll know how wrong you are." I'd say a good 80-90% of the time, that's wrong. |
The directed missile-strike in the E3 demo pretty much told me everything I needed to know. This is not the quiet sneaky Splinter Cell, it's Conviction's engine pushed through a FPS filter. They shouldn't fault gamers for calling it like they see it, especially with that summer blockbuster trailer. And if there is sneaky shit in their, why not show it?
|
I loved Conviction. Spent so much time in deniable ops.
Only problem with that game, was that the enemies would still talk shit, even when a dozen of their friends lie dead around them. Needs to take a cue from the batman games, and make enemies more nervous as you take out more people in the area. |
It seems you're gonna be dealing with a hardened militia instead of an underground terrorist group, so they may be even more macho when they know Fisher's around.

EA announces a mega collection set called "Command & Conquer: The Ultimate Collection" is now available digital for their Origin service with a retail version arriving tomorrow.
