Yea the NBA is on basically every night from now until the finals.

Mr. Nerfect 06-03-2021 06:16 AM

A better product would be preferable, but I can, in this backwards sort of way, understand why the WWE wants to have a sustainable and simple status quo for easy production. Putting on good content is work and creates further demand for quality content. You might bring in a few hundred thousand people with a better product, but when the quality dips, does your stock price dip with it when the people leave?

They’ve already got that narrative to battle though — people are leaving the stale product. And even without changing the overall philosophy of the promotion, WWE could just be better executed as is.

Bad News Gertner 06-03-2021 12:07 PM

Arn Anderson recently switched formats on his podcast dur to poor feedback. The show is now Arn telling the story of his career starting at the very beginning. It went from being the worst wrestling podcast to one of the best. They are 4 episodes in and it's fantastic.

erickman 06-03-2021 12:09 PM

i liked ask arn every other week

Bad News Gertner 06-03-2021 01:36 PM

They've done so many of those. What else is there to ask. Arn is better as a story teller imo.

erickman 06-03-2021 01:56 PM

so what did people hate his wwe 2001 to 2016 stories, i don't get the arn hate.

Bad News Gertner 06-03-2021 02:04 PM

He's just so dry and boring in that format.

erickman 06-03-2021 04:38 PM

i am glad jeff j's show is with the rest of conrads shows now i hated looking for it.

Jordan 06-03-2021 04:56 PM

Jeff's show has reinvigorated me with Conrad's podcasts. I like to listen to Jr and Tony as well but they do seem to have e lost the steam. When Tony started reviews for ECW I tapped out. JR is worth it if they topic is of interest.

Bad News Gertner 06-03-2021 05:19 PM

You gotta check out Arn's show now. You'd love it.

The live watches JR does are unlistenable. Like you said, it depends on the topic.

I wish Kurt Angle's show were better. He just doesn't provide much insight.

Cool I'll give Arm a go.

Jordan 06-04-2021 08:45 AM

With Jarrett, already I feel like you can't listen to him and not have a renewed interest in his past. I've been watching him in WCW and a few early TNA episodes. He was such a great heel. So funny at times too. When he interrupted Toby Keith at the first TNA show, legit one of the greatest heel heat moments ever. Fucking hilarious. Also in 2000 Nash gave him Commissioner duties, he was hilarious in that role. The worst thing about the end of WCW is by far Mark Madden. Whatever was bad, he made worse. I can't stand Mark fucking Madden.

Mr. Nerfect 06-04-2021 01:43 PM

Jeff Jarrett was never untalented. It was just too much at the wrong time for the guy.

Mr. Nerfect 06-04-2021 07:08 PM

Asuka tweeted out a photo of Allegiant Stadium in Nevada. Many are speculating that this is the site for SummerSlam. Don’t know how wise it is to be tweeting out that sort of stuff when the WWE is looking to cut talent and you’re a woman approaching your 40’s that probably earns a bit of scratch.

This will see SummerSlam joining WrestleMania and the Royal Rumble as the WWE’s annual stadium shows. Might lend credence to the rumors of Roman Reigns vs. John Cena and Bobby Lashley vs. Brock Lesnar as main events for the show, unless they just plan on people being able to attend shows being the draw.

Vastardikai 06-05-2021 05:35 PM

So, has anyone actually thought about how insane the Shield was?

Like, We are gonna debut three guys in the same time, in the same group. That Samoan Guy is obviously a star... but, so is the crazy eyed one... but, so is the traditionally good looking guy. We need to protect these guys and build them up.

Seriously, how do you just somehow manage to debut the Main Event of your show for the next 5 years in the same night? It'd be the equivalent of, in the '80s, debuting Randy Savage, Ric Flair, and Hulk Hogan in the same night. That is unprecedented.

the funny thing is 3 man band came up at the same time and slater thought he was going to get roman and seth and not drew and jender

Vastardikai 06-05-2021 05:56 PM

And 3 Man Band is the only thing close to the Shield, and most of the time they played second fiddle to Hornswaggle.

The Power Plant was eventually sold to Curtis Hughes. Yes, Mr. Hughes has a wrestling school. And he's trained some pretty good folks. Including Heath Slater.

If it were me, I would have taken the opposite approach. I'd be the type of asshole who signs up under an assumed name, and shits on my "real" name.

For example, if I were true to this gimmick, it would be revealed through thorough internet sleuthing that *I* am actually HHH.

At GCW last night, a druid attached Nick Gage. Crowd pops huge assuming it's Jon Moxley. The druid seemingly confirms it by hitting Gage with the Paradigm Shift, crowd goes bananas.

Except the druid unmasked as Matt Cardona, and and the realization of the crowd that they'd been tricked got him big heat. Tremendous.

There was a short stint where they would do a weekly jobber vs jobber match. I can’t remember the name of the segment but these were JOBBER jobbers. A notch below the Joey Maggses of the company.

Hey, Blitzkreig had to build up credibility somewhere before his weekly WorldWide loss to a "star".

Why is this not used? This is legit! How is that not a heel move?

Sepholio 06-09-2021 12:54 AM

So is Roman Reigns the only person to team with Seth Rollins and still be wrestling there? Moxley, Jason Jordan, Braun, Buddy Murphy, AOP...the list goes on and on. It's like working with Rollins is like making some kind of proverbial deal with the devil. You're gonna end up with the tag titles, you have a really good chance of winning a solo title after, but you're gonna be on the chopping block in a couple years. Add to that all the other people Rollins has injured, like Brock, Cena and Sting....and I really think Seth is cursed. He's like the cover of Madden.

Speaking of Flair flops, my favorite was when he would take ten head slams into the turnbuckle from the babyface, but then give himself like five more unassisted, then stagger to the dead center of the ring and flop. It's one of those things that would be phony as fuck with ANYONE else, but Flair got away with it and made it awesome because he's fucking Flair.

And put Becky on the shelf with a baby at the peak of her powers.

I never fucking knew about this. Amazing. I think I actually subconsciously like Bull Buchanan. I never realized I was a fan, but I used to lightly enjoy his running leg to the guy draped on the top rope and his leaping clothesline off the top.

I absolutely adore the back body drop into a powerbomb. That was my made up tag team finisher as a kid that I never saw anyone do.

I always forget about this Quebecers run. They feel so out of place.

It’s way later than I ever remember them existing. They feel like a parody. Definitely out of place. Like Rick Martel in WCW ‘98 or Christian in AEW now.
