Ignorance is Bliss: A Nightwing cartoon by Legend of Korra's Director:

That......that just stings.
I mean, I love Young Justice. It's one of the best superhero cartoons out there. But a Nightwing cartoon, by the Avatar/Korra crew? That would've been immense. |
That Nightwing model is badass as hell. Raven looks cool, too, and I imagine she'd get her usual garb later.
Ah well. |
|
Just saw the first two episodes of Green Lantern: TAS. That shit is legit.
|
The Red Lanterns mean business.
|
So Ben Afflect is the only director who read the Justice League script (and why the fuck is that, by the way). This could be a good thing, though, as he is one of Hollywood's genuine nerds.
|
To his credit, Afflek has really ressurrected his career with some really quality efforts. Not sure how I feel about a JL movie.
|
Affleck was the bomb in Phantoms
|
but directing a JL film? The town was good, this movie he has coming out about the confidential mission or whatever the fuck looks meh. I don't wanna trust him with a JL film.
Wait, lol....SILLY ME. There's no single character established for a JL project. Why is there even a script/treatment for JL when Green Lantern sucks, superman needs a reboot and Batman(which was genius) needs somebody to pick up the cowl? Are they gonna work backwards from this script in order to bring all the players into the mix? Are they gonna just throw them into a 3 hour clusterfuck? What will DC Do? |
Sadly, I could see them trying to do a JLA film without Superman/Batman.
Using the "JLA: Year One" team. Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, and Black Canary. |

WB will fashion JL as an inverse of what Marvel did with Avengers. It will introduce major players and they will spin-off into movies rather than converge. The only guy who will be established will likely be Henry's Superman. This is their best bet, as it kills a few birds with one stone (Wonder Woman, Flash, new Batman, new Green Lantern, etc). I like that idea.
|
I personally have no interest in a JL film. At all. I think it would be a mistake to do a JL film with the intention of spinning it off into character singles. DC should just focus on making strong, standalone films with their characters.
|
What's their batting rate, though? Green Lantern bombed and they won't even try their other heroes. They felt Superman Returns failed (expectations were kind of unrealistic) and their ace in the whole just wrapped up. JL could be a fresh start for them, so long as Man of Steel delivers first.
Marvel Studios has done no wrong in my eyes as of yet. None of their movies are as moving as any of Nolan's Batman films, or rated as high, but consistency is their ace in the whole. As well as, something Phil Coulson would agree with - Conviction. If WB dealt with the Iron Man series they'd reboot it after seeing part 2 didn't do as well as part 1. They have no confidence in their properties and turn tail the second something isn't what they imagined. Rather than look for lightning in a bottle, I think their entire DC movies division needs to get shaken up with new leadership. They made changes with their DC Entertainment brand but they still have no aim with the movies. Look how their animated movies are with Bruce Timm pretty much running the show; consistent quality, great at best and at worst good. Their movie end has no such vision and control. They simply can't focus on making a strong, standalone film. They don't know how despite Nolan's contributions. |

New DCnU villain seems like a combination of Bizarro and Superboy Prime:

I liked it better when it was just comedy.

Got mushy way too fast, I would have liked some conflict. |
THis could set up for an epic fight when Clark comes in trying to woo Diana and PG goes nuts.
Or they could laugh it all off and they'll double date with WW and Bats. |
That's right, Clark does seem to like Diana.
Oh yeah. |
So...it's been two weeks since I purchased a subscription to a monthly Batman read and still, no august issue has arrived at my door step. For anyone who's been a subscriber before, is this the norm?
|
I haven't had a subscription with DC, but I know with magazine subscriptions I've done it's taken closer to 4 or 5 weeks for them to update my info so they may not have you in their system yet.
|
Hope thats the case since otherwise I'd be nearly a month behind and I paid upfront for a years worth of issues. If nothing else, I was hoping for copies arriving the day of release.

Detective Comics vol. 1 was great to start and died out after the Dollmaker cliffhanger. It was really tough to continue on through. I'm glad the Joker is getting moved to my subscription.
