And totally unsurprising of Sega.

Update on Megaman Universe:

Previously seen only in teaser trailer form, Mega Man Universe will let you "play as the Mega Man of your dreams," according to Inafune.

The concept of Mega Man Universe, Inafune says, "came from the idea of what Mega Man is and what it means to [different people]." Whether you started playing the series when Mega Man 2 was released or whether you start with the Mega Man X series, Inafune says "Everyone has a unique idea of what Mega Man is."

That may help explain guest appearances from other Capcom games, including Street Fighter's Ryu and Ghosts 'n' Goblins hero Arthur. Other versions of Mega Man will be featured in the game, including that "crappy version of Mega Man from the original cartridge," a character featured in the teaser trailer.

Inafune hopes that the ability to play as different characters outside of the Mega Man mythos will encourage creativity in players and that Universe will "unite Mega Man fans from around the planet to play together in one place." While Capcom didn't show any gameplay during the panel, Inafune said they're working hard to have something to show soon.

The Father of Mega Man ended his Comic-Con presentation with another tease, claiming "You haven't heard the last of the Mega Man announcements out there." Inafune said to expect confirmation of an "oft-requested thing that you guys want."

When fans began shouting for Mega Man Legends 3, Inafune just smiled and said "Thank you."

Mega Man Universe "won't be out for a while," according to Ito, but when it does arrive, it will come to the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.

I'm more interested in the possible Megaman Legends 3, to be honest. Loved the first one to completion but I got the second one just before I got my PS2 back then so I never actually finished it. They use characters from the series in cross overs and references them so much, I'm amazed we didn't get MML3 years ago.

2KSports reveals the 10 games in NBA 2k11 "Jordan's Challenge" mode. Each game has 3 goals to achieve and majority of Goal 1s is to match or score more than he did in the real game. Only critical game missing is "The Shot" vs Cavs in 1989.

Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters

“Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters gives players the chance to experience the world of the Green Lantern mythology in an interactive way, going beyond the events of the film and comic books,” said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Production and Development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “The game is the first to center around DC Comics’ Green Lantern franchise and we’re excited to give fans the opportunity to experience the power of the ring with engaging gameplay.”

According to comic writer Geoff Johns, Warner Bros. Interactive is currently working on a videogame adaptation of the DC Comics property, Suicide Squad.

The info, with little detail, was revealed at the "DC Focus: Geoff Johns" panel at Comic-Con this week. What we do know about the game is that it's not going to be for the children -- Johns referred to the game as "hardcore violent."

Gonna install all my games now.

Drakul 07-25-2010 03:26 PM

I bought Hitman: Blood Money for the 360 a few days ago and I've found a weird...glitch? I don't know what it is.

Playing the level "You Better Watch Out", I threw a corpse over a railing into the water but, the game glitched and I was the one that went over the railing. Now I'm standing under water and walking around like it's dry land.

I walk through some scenery and, under the area where an elevator is, there is a small room with a dirt floor, bare brick walls and a mesh cage like panel above it. Standing in the tiny room was a single black guy with a smile on his face. Every time, it was that same black guy.

He doesn't react to me aiming my guns at him like other NPCs do and, when I killed him and stole his clothes, he had purple underwear on instead of the usual white underwear NPCs wear.

Not sure what it's all about.

A NeoGAF user has painstakingly pieced together details of the canceled Legacy of Kain game, The Dark Prophecy. The game was being developed in 2004 by Eidos and Ritual Entertainment, but fell victim to the axe before it could be completed. Now a huge amount of information has been recovered.

It would seem that The Dark Prophecy's story was due to center around two different time periods, one featuring a tyrannical Kain from the past, one featuring the modern day Kain. The vampire would also regain his transformation power, as first seen in the original Legacy of Kain. The Dire Wolf form would return, along with a Dire White Wolf and a monstrous "beast" form.

A ludicrous amount of art and screens have also been posted, which you can check out below. It looks like it could have been a pretty cool game, and speaking as a fan of the Kain character, I'm sad this wasn't finished. Ah well, maybe Kain will rear his ugly head again someday.

Could Grand Theft Auto be returning to the West Coast for its next big outing? According to recent rumours that's where the series could be heading, with reports outing Hollywood as the series' next backdrop.

vg24/7 is doing the whispering, as well as claiming that Grand Theft Auto V's announcement is coming up fast – and quite possibly within the next few months as the report makes the surprising claim that it could be unveiled alongside the first public airing of Max Payne 3.

We've contacted Rockstar who have, unsurprisingly, remained tight-lipped, refusing to comment on rumour or speculation.

Grand Theft Auto has been to Hollywood before, of course, with San Andreas' LA flavoured Los Santos featuring the area of Vinewood, Rockstar's own take on Tinseltown.

Would a return to San Andreas – or part of it, at least – fulfil your desires for Grand Theft Auto V, or are you, like us, hoping for something a little different from the game? Let us know in the comments below.

t's no secret that Rare has suffered one of gaming's most trafic falls from grace. Once considered the cream of the British developer drop, Rare's eventual subjugation by Microsoft and subsequent software output pretty much killed the company in the eyes of fans. For one major Rare fan site, however, the final nail was only recently hammered into the coffin.

MundoRare, a fan community with a decade-long pedigree, has closed its doors after one last-ditch attempt to instill faith in Rare was shut down ... by Rare itself. MundoRare was planning to shoot a documentary about the studio, for no money at all, to be distributed online and via Xbox Live. The site's staff were becoming jaded with Rare after years of mis-steps, and this documentary was their way of getting the faith back.

Already struggling to justify its own continued existence, MundoRare was in talks about the ambitious project, until Rare pulled the plug, claiming that the documentary wouldn't be "on message." That basically means Rare's corporate attitude killed the last bit of love that a loyal fan community had for the developer.

"Despite its ambitious scope, we felt it was an irresistible offer," explains the site. "In fact, we are still puzzled over their response. It was a risk-free operation to be carried away with all legal safety measures deemed necessary and full of good intentions. It simply makes no sense. It has changed our perception of Rare forever and leaves us with no other option but to end our support for them."

This just goes to show what a corporate-minded factory Rare has apparently become. To turn down a free and loving celebration of its history due to nothing but petty concerns for making sure the company line was towed, is not the kind of pathetic mentality I'd expect from any developer, let alone Rare. I think it's safe to say that any hope of the studio getting back its glory days is well and truly dead. But hey, at least they have a Wii Sports clone in the works, right?

From Joystiq:

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.c...7/wweas728.jpg

THQ has another WWE game on the way, joining its WWE Smackdown vs. Raw series and the new WWE All Stars (pictured). According to THQ's Danny Bilson, the new WWE "extension" shares All Stars' focus on accessibility over Smackdown vs. Raw's detailed ... simulation of simulated wrestling.

"Next year you'll see another new extension [of the WWE license]," Bilson told CVG, "that's just as exciting as All Stars, but a little different. We're not talking about that yet." He said that the plan was to release a WWE game every six months (presumably for many years to come), alternating between Smackdown vs. Raw, All Stars and this new series -- the latter two being "more friendly, easier and less simmy than Smackdown vs. Raw." There's a fourth franchise too, WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw Online, but that's intended solely for the Asian market.

If you're thinking that the "new" series will feature WWE wrestlers driving in cars and shooting at each other -- THQ tried that one already. Our wild guess: the new game's gonna really Kinect players to the Moves.

Emperor Smeat 07-28-2010 09:14 PM

I guess it means no chance at a new Legends of Wrestlemania game since the 1st one had great potential (especially with the Rumble) but "meh" in terms of gameplay controls or depth.

Time Crisis: Razing Storm

Quote:

Originally Posted by Samit Sarkar, Dtoid.com

But with the launch of PlayStation Move this September, they may be poised for a comeback. Namco Bandai is doing their part, packaging ports of the arcade versions of three light gun games -- Time Crisis: Razing Storm, Time Crisis 4 (2007), and Deadstorm Pirates -- and releasing the bundle as Time Crisis: Razing Storm in North America this fall.

http://bulk2.destructoid.com/ul/1802...-2-noscale.jpg

I got to check out Razing Storm on Move at a Sony press event in New York last week. I played by myself for a while, and then tried out same-screen co-op with a Namco Bandai representative. I can confirm that it is an on-rails light gun game where you shoot many, many people and robots. But I was surprised by how much I actually enjoyed it, and I think that the amount of fun I had was tied to PlayStation Move.

If you're not pressing any buttons, you'll be behind an impenetrable metal shield. Holding the Move button will have you pop out from behind the shield, ready to fire with the trigger. Instead of "firing" off the screen to reload, you'll automatically do so when you re-enter cover. Razing Storm is the first Time Crisis game with destructible environments, and while it isn't exactly Red Faction: Guerrilla-level destructibility, it's still fun to take out some scaffolding and watch the enemies who were standing on it collapse in a heap on the floor. A second player can hop in at any time, and that brings in the wonderful cooperative-yet-competitive element of "my friend and I are kicking ass together, but I'm going to kick more ass than him."

http://bulk2.destructoid.com/ul/1802...-3-noscale.jpg

Move matters here because of its accuracy, the benefits of which were palpable. I've often found the targeting in light gun games to be finicky, but I had no trouble racking up headshots in Razing Storm. That was Arcade Mode, but Razing Storm also includes a single-player Story Mode that plays like an FPS -- you have freedom of movement around the stages. Here, you'll play with the Move Navigation Controller in your left hand and the wand in your right; flicking the wand upward (i.e., away from the screen) will put you into cover. (I didn't get a chance to see the Story Mode.) You'll also use the FPS controls in the eight-player Online Battle Mode, which features shooter standards such as deathmatch.

http://bulk2.destructoid.com/ul/1802...-9-noscale.jpg

All three games in the bundle will be playable with PlayStation Move (and the optional Move Shooting Attachment), the Guncon 3 (which came with the PS3 version of Time Crisis 4), or a regular PlayStation 3 controller. Time Crisis 4 and Deadstorm Pirates will feature online leaderboards, although I presume you'll be stuck with using your PSN name instead of a clever arcade-cabinet standby such as "ASS" or "FUK." Pricing is yet to be determined, but the bundle will be available right around the launch of PlayStation Move. Depending on the cost, it could be worth picking up for some mindless shooting fun.

But she doesn't just want to be in the movie, she's apparently had a meeting with Legendary Pictures, the studio producing the big screen version of World of Warcraft, to discuss the picture.

Legendary Pictures is the studio behind The Dark Knight, Inception and 300.

"Just met up with Legendary Pictures CEO&Founder Thomas Tull and Sr. Vice President Alex Garcia, earlier today at their office in Warner Boulevard re: their new Warcraft movie," Gosiengfiao wrote on her Facebook page (via Japanator).

Sam Raimi recently stated that the film was progressing slowly, and he has a 40 page treatment of the screenplay.

Electronic Arts' experiment to dissuade users from buying used games seems to be working, at least initially, for two of its sports games released this year.

The publisher noted during its Q1 fiscal earnings call this afternoon that the number of online customers who played Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 and NCAA Football 11 and redeemed the Online Pass reached over 60 percent.

"We are pleased to see 60 to 70 percent of online connected users redeeming the code," said COO John Schappert. "The level of online play amongst our user base is up from last year, and revenue from paid downloadable content is also up."

EA plans to incorporate the Online Pass, a one-time use code, with the majority of its sports titles going forward. All games purchased new come with the pass, however, if purchased used or if the code has already been entered, users much then purchase a pass for $10 to gain access to multiplayer features.

EA says, for right now, it's still too early to tell how the Online Pass has affected revenue from new and used sales.

"It's too early to tell," Schappert added. "What we are encouraged by is we are seeing more people play online on both of those titles, so it's certainly is not holding them back."

"We think the extra gift, if you will, when you activate your online pass is driving some of that adoption."
I imagine EA and Activision laughs when the stats make mockery of the loud detractors to their controversial decisions.

So one of the improvements in Ocarina of Time 3DS is that "the interface has been refined so it's much easier to perform actions such as changing Link's boots or tunic." Well fuck

Xero 08-04-2010 06:56 PM

Oh boy!

If you like fighting games, it is like Santa came back to your house in July, rang your doorbell and was like "fuck it, you're awesome. Have another gift on me"

Funky Fly 08-05-2010 02:22 AM

Plus you like ridiculous Japanese shit, so this should be fun for a little while.

Nippon Ichi, the company behind the Disgaea series, is working on a top-down RPG for the PSP called Criminal Girls. You play as a warden of a female prison that's set in hell and it's your duty to rehabilitate seven prisoners that represent the seven deadly sins. Spankings and massages will be required from you on your quest to help these women rejoin society.
Told you the PSP is getting some must have games :shifty:

Now that sounds like the kind of game I want to play...wait besides massaging the the gluttonous woman....that is probably the one you have to spank and massage. Gross.

Kalyx triaD 08-06-2010 07:25 AM

Demakes are usually made within certain memory limits right? It's hilarious to be that these games could have been made.

G 08-06-2010 11:29 AM

I'm such an abused wife when it comes to these Sonic games.

"I don't know John... I wanna believe you I really do... Are those flowers..?"

So far the videos and images are not disappointing people and no new friends or random stuff that shouldn't be in a Sonic game.

OssMan 08-06-2010 07:16 PM

BlazBlue Continuum Shift is kind of cool but stupid and I will never understand it.

D Mac 08-06-2010 08:30 PM

Just ordered a 500gb HDD to upgrade my PS3.

Practice.

OssMan 08-07-2010 11:02 AM

Nah I would rather just trade it in and get Rez or something.

E.A. releases 156 different DLC "powerups"/stat boosters for the upcoming NHL 11. Prices for the DLC boosts range from 80 MS points to 160 MS points each.

http://kotaku.com/5606823/nhl-11-wil...erent-powerups

The content is actually available for free if someone was to actually play the game and grind out the stats.

Xero 08-07-2010 04:22 PM

Back in my day, we didn't have fancy DLC that boosts your stats. We had a Game Genie where you could only input 3 codes at once and we fucking liked it!

Extreme Angle 08-07-2010 04:51 PM

I miss Game Genie and Action Replay

LoDownM 08-07-2010 04:53 PM

All about the Gameshark sticking out of the back on the Playstation.

G 08-07-2010 07:01 PM

or the double decker n64 cartridge

OssMan 08-07-2010 07:02 PM

Or the jacked up Gameboy one that your game would hang off of.
