Ol Dirty Dastard 03-17-2016 06:44 PM

I specifically remember Hulk coming out to Voodoo Child the night after Mania X8 (which I thnk is now dubbed over for the rest of time) and it literally being the coolest fucking thing I've ever seen. Loved Voodoo Child so much more than Real American.

Also, RAW was pretty crappy even this week. Yeah, it was better than usual, but that's an extremely low bar to set.

That's how we do it around here. I give your post 2/7.

It's hilarious how butthurt Roman gets about people disliking him. And, yes, he's getting butthurt. He's a celebrity, a public figure. If you can't handle a few people on the internet telling you you suck, and feel the need to try and "fight back" via social media you're just as much of a "#fool" as they are. If Roman's gonna be the "face of the company" he really needs to grow up and grow some tougher skin.

GD 03-17-2016 09:24 PM

What is this? A "white only" wrestling promotion? The lack of diversity in the photographs is appalling.

I'd give that scrawny little shit a 2 out of 7. He gets an extra point because at least he had the guts to take off his shirt when he wrestles unlike the rest of those backyard muties.

Not joking at all. Roman's acting like a bigger bitch than the guy he's "calling out." You can't honestly think it's "cool" when a celebrity "talks smack" on social media, right? I mean honestly, dude, that's pretty pathetic. Yeah, the little shit threatening to break his own fingers is a dweeb, but Roman's acting like a whiny bitch here, plain and simple with his grade school comebacks.

It seems as WWE is heating up in WrestleMania season, Vince McMahon and Triple H, the chairman and the COO, are having more arguments over the event. This time the issue in question is which match should close the show, according to Daily Wrestling News. Vince feels Lesnar should be main eventing WrestleMania due to all the money WWE is paying him, but there’s concern a non-title match with Dean Ambrose isn’t big enough for a main event. This isn’t an indictment as to how Vince feels about Ambrose, but Vince wanted more star power for a Lesnar match and remains disappointed they couldn’t get The Rock to wrestle.

Triple H wants his title match against Reigns to main event (shocker!), but there’s speculation Vince may actually be souring on Reigns.

There’s also a feeling that The Undertaker against Shane McMahon should be the main event given the stakes of the match and the fact ‘Taker is a Texan native.
Another big clash between the two recently involved when to debut Finn Balor and WWE's version of the Bullet Club. Vince wanted it to happen on the March 7th episode of RAW in Chicago while Triple H wanted it to happen as a post-Mania surprise debut. It likely wouldn't have involved Finn being placed in a high profile match for Mania and it also seems Vince no longer holds a favorable view of NXT based on recent dirtsheet rumors and reports.

This week's first airing of Lucha Underground on the El Rey Network drew 100,000 viewers. This is up from last week's 95,000 viewers but down from the previous week's 124,000 viewers.

The replay drew 57,000 viewers, up from last week's 41,000 viewers, making the total for this week's show 157,000 viewers. This is up from last week's total of 136,000.

The gate was at $12.8 million as of 3/9, breaking the $12.6 million all-time pro wrestling gate set last year, although not by nearly as much as you’d think given the huge difference in actual attendance.

With the larger stadium, more tickets were being sold at lower prices. The number also beat any UFC gate in history. Obviously a ton of boxing gates beat that number. There are boxing matches that did more than 85,000 fans, with the all-time record for a paying event being the Julio Cesar Chavez vs. Greg Haugen fight in 1993 at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City with 132,274. While largely forgotten, there was a 1941 fight in the U.S. with Tony Zale vs. Billy Pryor in Milwaukee that was a free show that did a reported 135,172. The record for a paying U.S. show is 63,350 for a 1979 fight with Muhammad Ali vs. Leon Spinks at the Superdome in New Orleans

In terms of ppv buys and revenues, UFC's big shows still make a lot more than Mania with only Mania 28 coming close.

Question: Other than the money, what did you enjoy most about your time at WCW?

BH: I really didn’t enjoy anything. If I had to sum up what one thing I did like I would probably say wrestling Sting. Sting was a class guy, just a first rate guy. Great guy to work with. Great guy to talk to. Great guy to hang out with. A real friend. No ego. Never saw any ounce of ego. Just a team player all the way and I always had a lot of respect for him. He really made coming to work fun. When I look back today I just have mounds of respect for Sting. When I watch some of our matches back they were actually pretty good. Considering we had absolutely no direction. Absolutely no storyline. Nothing made any sense. He was always able to make sense of the most stupid stuff that Bischoff could come up with. I just have so much respect for the fact he was there as long was and he just was a guy… you never forget guys like Sting. He was just there every day. Showed up for work and did the best he could every night. He made a real difference to guys like me in the dressing room that almost lost hope working there.

Some other sheet news includes:
  • According to reports, Bret Hart's recovery from prostate cancer surgery is moving along a lot faster than expected.
  • In a "WWE Did You Know" type fact, tomorrow Kofi Kingston will end up breaking the record for most days combined as a WWE tag team champion at 542 days. Currently tied with John Morrison at 541 combined days although the current record only dates back to 2002.
  • Recent prank Kofi Kingston pulled on Twitter making fun of the League of Nation ended up having another prank attached to it. Kofi's supposed cell phone number ends up being the phone number to a restaurant called El Patron Mexica (Del Rio's indie name) instead. https://twitter.com/TrueKofi/status/709463286547357696
  • Besides Mick Foley, Jeff Hardy also announced he will be donating his brain for CTE research after his death.https://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCirc..._cte_research/
  • Kurt Angle recently debunked rumors of having a meeting with Triple H at this year's Arnold Classic nor having plans to wrestling for the rest of 2016 after his upcoming match against Rey Mysterio.
  • According to Superstar Billy Graham, he will be pulling out of this year's Wrestlemania Axxess festivities due to a recent injury becoming a life threatening issue for him. Doctors are very worried any potential infection from the injury will become deadly due to him being a diabetic and a bone piece moving too high up his hip. http://www.pwmania.com/wwe-hall-of-f...nt-to-triple-h

Triple H wants his title match against Reigns to main event (shocker!)
Feel enraged at this.... why does the person reporting it feel the need to add his own thoughts.... and why is it a "shocker"? Is he implying that Triple H is trying to "put himself over" by fighting to be the main event? Perhaps Triple H just thinks, justifiably so, that the WWE World Heavyweight Title should be the main event of the show.

Wishbone 03-17-2016 10:06 PM

Nakamura's gonna premier on April 1st... What if this is all just an elaborate April Fool's Day prank by WWE?

lol welllllllll HHH does like to always put himself over

VSG 03-17-2016 10:25 PM

Oh please.. He's right- the WWE World Heavyweight Championship should main event. Barring that, Shane-Taker but I don't really expect anything major from that match.

Ol Dirty Dastard 03-17-2016 10:32 PM

No you need to end with the world title match, I just think it's funny that he's a the champion.

VSG 03-17-2016 10:55 PM

With the current roster as it was this year, how many people would be actually believable as the champion? Poor booking aside, he is one of the very few who can carry the title and a good match.

Ol Dirty Dastard 03-17-2016 11:18 PM

I am firmly on the fence. Like I "get it" but it is typical castrated booking to go with the old.

Bo Dallas. His weekly BOinspirational speeches would be enough on its own to generate the big money making hype for Mania. :shifty:

If he can't fingerbang his gf will leave him. Probably for Roman Reigns.

Hanso Amore 03-18-2016 10:33 AM

Anyone else feel like WM is backwards?

Wouldnt a much better card have been

The Taker shows up at 30 and wins the title at the Rumble. Reigns gets a shot at him. THats a big match feel. Taker the champ going on his last ride against the new face of the company?

Then Shane returns and wants back in, and Vince pits him against HHH in Hell in a Cell for control of the future of the company. Really keeps it in the family and makes way more sense.

Brock vs AMbrose remains.

Just seems like the stories make more sense like that.

GD 03-18-2016 10:47 AM

The way things are being booked, Shane versus Taker seems to be the "unofficial" main event of the show just like Mr. McMahon vs Hogan at Wrestlemania XIX. I have high expectations from the Brock - Ambrose street fight. Not sure if the WWE will have Ambrose become the first wrestler to defeat Brock Lesnar via pinfall ever since he broke Taker's streak.

Other than that, I'm a bit disappointed with how Sami has been booked ever since his call-up to the main roster. In situations like these, I wish the brand split was still in effect so that wrestlers would receive more attention from the creative.
