PS Taker looks old. I mean I know he's old, but he looks really old.

Ruien 03-16-2016 05:15 PM

Feels like Shane is trying to invent a new set of punches but it isn't working.

Jordan 03-16-2016 05:27 PM

He literally looks retarded.

I want to get back into it, but they have yet to give me a reason. I will get Mania as my family want to see it, but I genuinely have zero interest right now outside of Ambrose, Taker/Shane.

Well if it keeps happening maybe they'll take a hint.

Ol Dirty Dastard 03-16-2016 05:34 PM

Thanfully Taker completely no sold those punches. Knowing Shane, he'll keep doing them, and also get more offence on Taker than Bray Wyatt did last year because Shane is the most fearsome wrestler on the roster.

Sixx 03-16-2016 05:40 PM

what the fuck is he doing with his feet?

I know he used to dance around in the past, but this looks nothing like dancing, more like spasms

From a trailer for an upcoming WWE Studios film called Countdown with Kane and Ziggler as lead actors was released recently.

Quote:

This electrifying thriller is directed by John Stockwell (Into the Blue) and written by Richard Wenk (The Equalizer). When a madman kidnaps a young boy and rigs him with explosives, Ray (Dolph Ziggler), haunted by the loss of his young son, defies his captain (Kane) and takes matters into his own hands. Now he must beat the clock to stop a psychopath and save an innocent child.

you know, I kinda liked that one horror flick with Kane

it wasn'y anything special, but enjoyable

Love how Taker and Lesnar refuse no sell bullshit offense. Lesnar outright refused to sell Ambrose's punches at Fastlane and it was awesome. I love Ambrose as much as anyone, but sheesh.

Ol Dirty Dastard 03-16-2016 07:34 PM

Don't understand how good workers throw crap punches. Also, Taker's punches aren't that great for someone who thinks he's such a badass he wears MMA gloves. Usually about a foot worth of daylight on his punches.

I'm over-analyzing but punches in general are outdated. They need to reinforce the closed-fist rule or something, because to an outsider, or even a casual, it's incredibly hokey to watch guys punch each other in the face for 20 minutes with no damage. I could see how it can take someone outta the moment, like witnessing bad acting in a movie.

Damian Rey 2.0 03-16-2016 08:02 PM

I like firearms to the face and there's not enough elbows going around.

There is the small audience that flips the channels and if they have Dish and suddenly come upon wrestling, that audience won’t be there. At the same time, what will happen is the number of homes that gets the USA Network will decrease because Dish subscribers that don’t care about USA will no longer be in the total, so you’re getting a small artificial ratings boost out of it theoretically starting next week.

Update to the on-going DISH vs NBC feud going on and what it could mean in the short term for the WWE.

It felt more minor league than it did even a few months ago which has to do with pushing new talent without names that aren’t talented enough to feel like stars. It’s not bad at all, but in today’s environment, not bad at all doesn’t cut it any longer when WWE produces so much content and indies are filled with action that is great

Last year was the argument that it isn’t what Warrior suggested, and it very clearly wasn’t, as he suggested an award for people who work backstage as good employees for little notice (mentioning Jimmy Miranda, and he actually the award named after Miranda, not himself). But you could argue last year’s induction of Connor Michalek did serve a greater good. This year it does in a sense that honoring celebrities who have powerful TV names is good for business in a number of ways. In this case, Lunden was the longtime host of Good Morning America who has battled breast cancer very publicly

Basically WWE still isn't going to follow Warrior's last wish for his award but will keep the trend of honoring those who battle cancer.

We’re pretty sure that you’re not allowed to open up a restaurant named after a world-famous pro wrestler that serves meals named after other world-famous pro wrestlers, but…it looks like someone in Mexico did it anyway!

The restaurant is called John Cena Burger & Taco, and it serves, well, burgers, tacos, quesadillas, and just about anything you could possibly want. Better yet, each and every meal that’s served in the restaurant is named after a wrestler, so you can order one by saying, “Give me The Undertaker” or “I’ll have a Randy Orton.” We’ll go out on a limb and say that the food probably isn’t spectacular—though these reviews suggest that some of it is—but hey, when you’re eating a meal named after your favorite wrestler, who cares?

Some other sheet news includes:
  • According to the Observer, it is very unlikely the WWE will have an actual building for the Hall of Fame ready by next year's Mania assuming they still want it located in Orlando or nearby.
  • Observer recently hinted even with the ratings decline, the WWE might still be able to get a somewhat decent raise with their next tv contract although well below whatever they'd be expecting or hyping. No way they come close to getting sports-type range for money. Biggest blow to any big hopes is going to be ad rates since WWE is around 1/7th what NASCAR generates and that sport had similar ratings declines recently. Also NBC is losing more money ad-wise with the WWE than FOX who are making a very small profit with NASCAR for some comparisons.
  • Garza Jr from Mexican promotion AAA recently had a tryout at WWE's Performance Center. Expected to be in one of the spots reserved for Mexican wrestlers in the upcoming Cruiserweight tournament.
  • Mick Foley announced on Twitter he will be donating his brain to the Chris Nowinski's Concussion Foundation after his death. https://twitter.com/RealMickFoley/st...52702589132800

Vastardikai 03-16-2016 10:03 PM

I can see the Concussion Foundation's study on Mick's brain. It goes along these lines:

The fuck is this? How is this even possible?

Sepholio 03-16-2016 10:28 PM

His prefrontal cortex is held together by duct tape and I'm pretty sure those are thumb tacks protruding from his medula oblongata. He also has a small piece of barbed wire wrapped around his brain stem.

lol I was talking to hb2k about Jericho's heel turn on Styles and how while Jericho has been effective since the feud with Styles began, the way WWE "does things" really took away from the gravity of when Jericho turned.

First of all, Michael Cole was just like "Code Breaker.... and another Codebreaker... and another codebreaker" as though it was just business as usual.

Secondly, the codebreaker while a "neat maneuver" as well as an effective-ish finisher, doesn't exactly show Jericho's new vicious side.

I all of a sudden just imagined Ricky Steamboat turning heel on someone via hitting several armdrags and for some reason just died laughing, because honestly that's kind of what it felt like.

"BAH GAWD WHAT A HEINOUS SMALL PACKAGE BY JERICHO ON AJ STYLES THE SICK SADISTIC SON OF A BITCH"
