:y: Omega's belt collector persona lives on.

Shit load of AAA fans pissed on YouTube lol. It's working!

Emperor Smeat 12-12-2020 11:06 PM

AAA's commentator mentioning Omega's belt collector storyline was very interesting since that means its also canon in AAA and a good chance AEW is also going to do something big with AAA soon.

Good idea, pretty sure Cage, Lucha Bros helped bridge that, along with Cody working the tag with Cain Velasquez and Psycho Clown there.

Emperor Smeat 12-12-2020 11:26 PM

Pagano might be legit crazy.

Just crashed and burned hard on that cannonball dive into the ladder on the outside. Even worse is these ladders are the real ones and not the painted wood ones WWE uses for ladder breaking spots to make it way less painful.

Volare 12-12-2020 11:29 PM

Why they gotta pick on Shani. Yeah that ladder looked flat as hell after lol.

Emperor Smeat 12-12-2020 11:31 PM

Holy shit. Chessman came way too dangerously close to braining himself onto the floor.

Volare 12-12-2020 11:31 PM

Chessman slipping but still catching the powerbomb was a little scary.

Emperor Smeat 12-12-2020 11:36 PM

 at one of the commentators getting randomly blasted by a guitar.

Guess the spirit of Jeff Jarrett suddenly possessed Chessman.

Emperor Smeat 12-12-2020 11:38 PM

That Pagano vs. Chessman was great in terms of all the craziness that went down.

This year's Triplemania show might be my favorite out of the past 3 I've seen.

Volare 12-12-2020 11:41 PM

Crazy ass ending.

Emperor Smeat 12-12-2020 11:58 PM

Today probably set a wrestling record for most guys showing up at different places at the same time.

Omega did it with AAA's Triplemania show and Impact's Final Resolution show.

Lio Rush did it with AAA's Triplemania show and NJPW's Super J-Cup show.

Chris Bey did it with NJPW's Super J-Cup show and Impact's Final Resolution show.

Seems Major League Wrestling is borrowing an idea from AEW in regards to having a weekly ranking system for their shows.

Officially announced a working relationship with Pro Wrestling Illustrated and the debut of a weekly MLW Top 10 list starting with this Wednesday's MLW Fusion show.

I only really started watching ECW during the time they were on TNN but he was one of the mid card guys I enjoyed a lot in late era ECW.

I always remember the Nutcracker Suite he delivered to RVD one time that looked like it legit KOed RVD because of how brutal it looked and sounded on tv.

Seems ROH might be joining Major League Wrestling in introducing an AEW-like ranking system for their divisions in the future.

One possible change is to the divisions in the company, with one idea that before matches, there will be something to decide if they are going for the Pure, Television or World title. Obviously with Pure division matches, the pure rules will be in effect, as well as a time limit if a wrestler is competing in the TV title division. There will be no time limit for World title matches. So each division would have a different feel for matches to set them apart. It’s also likely that there would be rankings for each division.

Emperor Smeat 12-18-2020 06:02 PM

According to TalkSport, USA Network isn't happy with WWE over their low ratings for RAW and have been pressuring them to be a lot less PG in terms of content but also not just go all out in Attitude Era direction for changes.

Seems GCW recently caught the negative attention of WWE since a trademark for "The Collective" was recently filed by WWE.

That's the name of the series of indies events held by GCW in recent years usually during Mania weekend but this year it was in October because of coronavirus reasons.

Also seems GCW's lawyer is going to use the same defense WWE did against Cody & AEW by using the WWE Network as evidence against WWE's claim for the trademark. Only difference is GCW also owns the trademark for it so its a lot harder on WWE's end to claim past usage via old shows on the Network.

Ended up being partially debunked by the Observer based on some talks he had with people close to the situation.

The part about USA Network being unhappy with RAW's record low ratings is true but not the part about them pushing for RAW to go in a more adult direction for content changes.

Yeah the hair is weird, but also no facial hair is also odd.

You know what USA would do if they were “furious” at Raw’s ratings? Cancel the third hour. But they don’t because it performs so well for them. Absolute bullshit and I can’t believe people fall for it.

Would they like higher ratings? Of course. They’d also like $500 million and Alexa Bliss to blow them. But “furious?” Lol.

Seems WWE's third party services ban is even worse than previously known based on a recent interview AJ Styles had with Inside the Ropes podcast show.

Not only does WWE want their big share of any money made via WWE approved third party accounts, they also have been asking their talent who used Twitch prior to Vince's ban to pay back the money to the company that they made under their WWE ring names.

I was doing this long before the lockdown, before the Coronavirus I was streaming and doing my thing, so I was always doing it on my time off… I wasn’t happy about it, no one was, but it is what it is. I’ll handle it the way that I have to. I’m a teamplayer, he [Vince] is the captain, I’ll follow his lead as far as Vince is concerned. Will it change, will something happen? They’re working it as we speak. Will I be happy with it? Probably not. The opportunity to stream in the future is wide-open. I obviously have the equipment, I just don’t have the opportunity to do that right now.”

Sounds like AJ has Stockholm Syndrome to me.

drave 12-21-2020 10:43 AM

What other viable options does he have though? Compared to WWE money, given the current climate, he's wise to toe the line at this time.

Evil Vito 12-21-2020 11:17 AM

What are they gonna do - fire or suspend one of their biggest stars? Over what is likely a completely unenforceable contract?

I can understand a low card dude feeling the need to tow the company line and not rock the boat but this is AJ Styles. This dude has leverage and it's frustrating to see people just accept this shit instead of letting the company bend them over.

Evil Vito 12-21-2020 11:20 AM

Not to mention, if someone fought the company on this ruling and got it thrown out, it would do wonders for all the talent that were making more on streaming than they were on their actual contracts.

Unfortunately though, much like in other companies, the people higher on the totem pole who could actually have the leverage to make change happen don't want to do it because fuck you I got mine.

He has a family. Unknown when this covid shit is going to be over. He'd be dumb not to take the guarantee.

It's AJ fucking Styles. He makes a killing on streaming alone. Which he would still make if he suddenly left WWE. He'd also easily find work in AEW or NJPW. Easily.

drave 12-21-2020 03:30 PM

He would still lose $$$

Mr. Nerfect 12-21-2020 04:18 PM

It’s not the most heinous thing the WWE has ever done. These people have platforms because of the WWE. There should be some sort of common ground, no doubt, but even someone like AJ Styles is making that Twitch money because he’s a big WWE Superstar taking an outside booking.

If the WWE treated its wrestlers like employees and treated things like Twitch streaming as proper third party ventures, then that would be one thing. But trying to get all that money? Especially when it is potentially a useful promotional tool for you is just a sign that the company’s policies need to catch up to the world they’re in.
