Finally playing Trails from Zero in an official localization. Masterpiece of a game.

I can see this, easily, without even freakin trying. Game is nuts, and amazing, and II comes out soon :O |
About to play Spider-man Miles Morales for ps5
|
As far as dlc/expansions go its good. Main game has one of my favorite spider-man narratives of all time though so its a tough act to follow
|
Tried the forspoken demo and turned it off after 10 minutes. Cool concept, poor execution.
Switching between spells feels clumsy and awkward. Movement in general feels off somehow. Except for the magic traversal. That feels good. The world is as bland as bland gets. Like something you'd see in a random ps3 rpg. It looks like the starting area from elden ring with all the atmosphere, mystique and great design removed. |
NHL 23 - kind of meh. Not bad but not great.

Been playing more Destiny 2 than I ever have in the history of ever.
Son and I took down the first boss Akelous together. Pretty god damn fun to be honest, some of the most fun I've had in Destiny in a very long while. We are going to move forward in it later tonight. Tried inviting other clan mates and friends list, but no one accepts so we just said fuck it. I think we can complete it with just the two of us. |
Raid or dungeon?
Theres actually rewards for completing dungeons solo, so you can definitely do it with two, although it will still be tough. |
Stayed up too late playing V Rising last night
|
Dungeon - whatever the latest one is called. this dungeon would be insane solo. Totally possible, but good lord it'd take FOREVER.
|
Elasto Mania
|
E.V.O Search for Eden
|
Seriously, @Kalyx - hit me up for some MH Rise if you want.
I'm HR 6 right now, just took down the god damn Kitzusune at hub 6, which was way fucking harder than any other version I fought. I'll do whatever man, just love the game. Regards, Drave - Gunlance BigBoom Division |
Persona 3
High school bullshit simulator. Pretty fun so far |

Winding down on Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Farming Lynels and Dragons for parts to juice up a couple more armors. Probably do the Ballad of the Champions DLC. then storm the castle. Kicking around doing the sword trials to juice up the Master Sword. Not sure if it's worth it or not.
Mechwarrior 5 snuck out a new DLC which sounds like it freshens things up a bit. Will most likely move onto that next. |
Think I got to the part on BOTW where I can finally go to Hyrule and just "meh" - never did.

Hitman 3.
I played around half of it before on my nephew's Xbox account since I didn't own the game at the time but this is the first time around trying to beat the whole game on my own Xbox account. The new rouge-like Freelancer mode sounds really interesting but going to tackle that after I finish the main story playthrough first. |
Hitman 1. Need to get through that first before resuming Hitman 3's Freelancer mode since that's the only game in the recent trilogy I haven't played through yet.
Xbox version of classic Goldeneye. Need to check but don't remember there being head-bobbing or screen swaying in the N64 version or at least it being as bad and noticeable as in the Xbox version. Almost feels like Bond is semi-drunk with how much the background moves when you don't touch the stick. |
Finished Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
I don't know what all the hubbub is about this game. But it was just weird how they went about it. Like the Director didn't want to piss off anybody or make someone upset and just let all the ideas good and bad into the game. They're definitely on to something with their reboot. But if the team held onto it longer, this could have been way better. Maybe they'll figure it out with Tears of the Kingdom. |
If I played it today it would not feel special. 7 years ago thought it was amazing.
|
7 years.
Fuck me. |
Chained Echoes. This is my shit.
|
BOTW 2 just isnt that exciting to me... i'll take 40 hour story driven zelda over 150 hour open world one... it was nice to do it once but i don't want another

started up Assassins Creed Rogue Remastered. Definitely made on top of the world of Black Flag. The hits of nostalgia with the menus really makes it feel like a title from a previous generation.
Also the controls. While great, I wanna crouch manually all the time but cannot. |
Moonscars
Soulslike metroidvania game. Very good so far. Hard as balls though |
Oh shit I forgot about Wild Hearts. I might have to check that out tomorrow.

Also make sure your playing the console version since the PC version of the game is really rough in terms of performance compared to on PS5 and Xbox Series X. It currently has a "Mostly Negative" user rating score on Steam because of those issues.
Xbox Series S also has some really bad issues running the game properly. |
Seeing nothing but positive reviews so far.
|
Playing fire emblem engage. Basically the octopath 2 waiting room though
|

Kinda wanna check it out given how much I enjoy Monster Hunter..... |
Back to Mechwarrior 5 for a bit. The new DLC with Bounty Hunter mode is fun, but a bit of a pain. Gonna keep on that until Lightfall drops for Destiny 2.
|
chained echoes is done. Great game. Really amazing that one guy made it. Hope he gets enough funding to do a sequel because I'm all in on it if so.
Made me wish a couple other old school style RPGs I've been hyped for would come out. I know Octopath 2 is soon but I want to play Alterium Shift and more importantly Sacrifire already. Sacrifire looks amazeballs. Anywho, 3 days until Atomic Heart. Been looking forward to that since the original announcement trailer. Hope it lives up to the hiznype. Might try to run through Hi-Fi Rush before then. |
Only issue with chained echos was the mechs. Once youve done one fight in them you can repeat that exact same combat pattern for every one of them.
|
Well the regular combat gets that way if u discover certain combos too. I absolutely slaughtered the super boss once I found the golden ticket. Victor with the accesory that makes you go first, have him pop his super team buff, then follow with mikah using the high end agility boost, with glenn and sienna in tow. Once you set up like that everyone on your team will get 2-3 turns between every enemy turn and you can just spam high power moves and obliterate them before they can do anything.
|
For sure. Mikah/sienna are s tier and Lenne/Glenn as back up dps and the trash mobs are cake. But there are atleast enemy encounters, boss or otherwise, that resist certain set ups and make you think on your toes.
The mechs are basically the exact same fight with like 1 boss fight and even that boss is the same thing but longer. There's no variance at all. |
Exploration in them was enjoyable though
|
Yeah I loved the exploration aspect of them for sure.
As for saying there are encounters that resist certain setups....that set up I listed has no counter. The super boss got one turn on me before I wiped him using it. Last boss took a little longer because of it being multitarget but was still a push over that never once made me feel threatened. |
Agility is super broken at high levels, basically.
|
In saying that though, the first half, maybe 2/3rds of the game didn't feel like that. Every battle, even regular ones, felt like it could be lost at any time. Really liked it when it was like that.
|
Honestly the super boss was a joke. By that point youve figured the game out and the challenge isnt really unfair in any way. Superbosses kinda NEED to be unfair. At end game its the only way.
|
And AGI is stupid broke
|
You should keep an eye on Sacrifire and Alterium Shift. I imagine they'd be right up your alley. Alterium apparently has a pretty lengthy demo now as they get close to launch.
|
Sacrifire is on my steam wishlist already. It looks great. I added altreium so I'll keep an eye out
|
I had the sudden urge to play Ghost Recon Wildlands so that's what I'm finally doing.
|
@ Destor
Sea of Stars is another one you should keep an eye on. |
After octopath 2 its my most anticipated game of the year.
|
Diablo II Resurrected.
Got it on sale. I originally pre-ordered it, but it played like trash. Much better now, and they've added new stuff. Weeeee |
Trying to get into Atomic Hearts. There's a good game in there...... but there are some design decisions that get in their own way.
I've played for about an hour. Can't remember what made me stop, but I know it was something that literally made me say "Nope" and just killed the game without saving. Hopefully it gets better as upgrades begin. Edit: This game is very horny btw 2x edit: And the voice acting is FUCKING TERRIBLE. |
Hitman Freelancer
Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Started Skyrim last night and quickly realized that the inventory weight system is going to be a pain to deal with since it goes against my usual habit in games of grabbing everything possible. Think the Witcher 2 uses a same weight limit restriction for gear and items your allowed to hold at any one time. Also found out the hard way that Giants or whatever they are called really are that tough and should be avoided at all costs until after leveling up a lot. Had 2 fights with them and both ended with my character getting 1-2 hit killed and launched into the air. |

The cameras early on were annoying. Never saw the repair bots.... but fuck me the range of vision on both the bots and the cameras seem "huge".
Annoying is the exact word. I recall shutting the game off in the middle of an activity because it was just annoying. Managed to level up some characters in D II though. can't fucking wait for Diablo IV in June maaaaaaaaaaaaaan |
Yeah theres supposed to be a stealth element but it doesn't work because enemies are densely packed and can see you from the moon.
If you haven't gotten to the outdoor area, know that it only gets worse. |

I have survival mode turned off so I just carry a few potions and food for battles instead of needing a lot of stuff for weather and hunger reasons. |
Finished the newest Mechwarrior 5 DLC stuff. Final payoff was kinda dumb. But it's a fun regardless.
I'll jump into Destiny 2: Lightfall tomorrow. Do all the Seraph season stuff so I got an idea what's going on with Season of Defiance. |
How is Octopath 2? Have that or Harry Potter to start this weekend. Was expecting to see more talk 9n social media regarding Octopath 2 but I barely see any. Makes me a little nervous I overhyped it.
|
I'd say if it's anything like 1, you've not overhyped yourself at all. It's going to be amazing.
I haven't seen a single advert for it anywhere. |
Havent played it yet but my understanding is that the reviews/hype seem a little mediocre because it's basically just more of part 1. It's not that new hotness now. I personally don't take an issue with it being more of part 1 because that's exactly what I want from it.
|
Sold. I am good with it being part 1 with new characters.

I'm both proud of and ashamed of myself for forcing my sorry ass to sit down and finish a game for the first time in a long time...Captain America: Super Soldier. :|

I'm actually trying to make a conscious effort to sit my ass in front of the television and finish up my uncompleted games in the pile. Right now I'm trying to blaze through Darksiders 2. Nor only can I scratch it off the list, but I'll finally have a reason to fire up Darksiders 3, which has also been waiting on my hard drive. :o
|
I really enjoyed the 1st 2. 3 wasnt bad.

I didn't find the first one particularly gripping, but it had the kind of aesthetic I tend to dig, so when the second game was featured in a Game Informer issue I checked out what it was going to be about and it sounded cool, being able to play as Death and all. I just never got around to buying it. I ended up picking it up, along with the third, when they were the free game for the month on Xbox live. I'm looking forward to the third one, as the idea of a female horseman (horsewoman? :wtf:) is pretty neat. Not sure I'm completely on board with the names of the all the horsemen, as I've always been used to War, Death, Famine, and Pestilence.

Also remember that my save file from the digital version I got for free from Games for Gold doesn't work at all for the physical version I bought later for cheap. Its all due to the digital version is the regular edition and the physical version is the special limited edition and the Xbox 360 considers it to be two separate game files despite it being from the same game. Did not know that beforehand so now I have a useless game disc that I just keep as a backup copy in my collection. |
Darksiders 2 is the best imo. But all 4 games are a good time and the lore of the series is pretty sweet.
|
So I'm really digging Atomic Heart other than 1 or 2 small gripes and I am convinced that the polarizing reviews are due to some people being fair to the game and others just shitting on it because Russia.
Oh and the stuff about the protagonist being a dick? He sure is. And considering the situation I don't blame him. |
ftr im not saying that this game is a 9 or a 10. But it also isn't a 3 or 4. Like a 7.5 or 8 out of 10 seems fair. It's nothing spectacular but it's a good time in a pretty sweet world with an interesting story (so far at least).
|
they fix "stealth"? cuz that shit was broke AF and the main reason I uninstalled.
|
The bad stealth wasn't that big of a deal to me in the earlier linear levels, but once you get to the open areas, the densely packed enemies make simply moving through the world a chore.
|
I dunno, I don't really do stealth in this game. It's so easy to just bolt through an area or just shut down the security system altogether instead of fighting. Plus you can easily crowd control with the right abilities anyways. I don't ever fight anything I don't want to in the open world and if I do I can easily turn the situation to my advantage.
|
fwiw when I have tried to use stealth (not to get around but to kill things) I find that watching an enemies pattern for a moment and then neutralizing any nearby camera before hand makes it A LOT easier. It's just a timing thing pretty much to get in range before they turn back on their route. Much easier to just dip out lol.
|
I'm totes putting this down for a few days starting tomorrow morning though because Diablo 4 and stuff.
|
Thinking about actually starting Bioshock Infinite tonight while waiting for RE4 to come out next week.
|
If it wasn't for the dumb storyline swerve around half-way to final third of the game, Bioshock Infinite likely would have been remembered a lot more fondly than it is.
Went from being a critique of sorts of America's history of racism post-Civil War to early 1900s to being pro-racism of sorts because of that really dumb swerve. The game's Columbia setting and gameplay with the elixir powers was really good. |

In the center is the Country Club. To it's north a military base, to it's south, the water towers, Supermax and Toxic Waste Disposal. It's flanked by Recycling Centers, Waster to Energy Incinerators and nine fusion power plants. The water supply for this area is cut off from the main town's water, for the express purpose of running the main water line through the Toxic plant first, and then all around through the nasty shit, until finally, the line ends at the Country Club with all that gloriously polluted water. |
Think I'm about a third to half-way through Skyrim but probably going to drop it very soon.
Started losing a lot of interest in wanting to continue due to the game being full of weird quirks, bugs, and questionable design decisions. Like the game's help system in terms of marking go to spots on the map and the magic path power randomly will stop working from time to time. Spent like 2 hours one time on just a quest to find a book because the helpful show path power bugged out. Kept passing the one spot needed to continue without realizing it until I gave up and looked up a video walkthrough for it. Then there were a few other quests where the game lets you start them but conveniently forgets to tell you that you actually need to do other stuff first before the quest actually activates. Spent a good 30 minutes trying to find a certain key before also giving up and finding out the quest isn't meant to be activated yet despite it being on the playable quest list. |
While I think Skyrim is a good game I also find it to be extremely overrated.
|
I spent a few hundred hours doing nearly everything in Oblivion then found myself to be completely uninterested in running around a bunch of slightly nicer looking ruins and hills for another hundred hours with some dragons
|
Caught Star Ocean: The Divine Force and Valkyrie Elysium on discount. Starting with Star Ocean. Digging it so far. If you've played SO before you know exactly what to expect. Voice acting is a tad whack but that's par for the genre at this point. Pretty game with some good world design thus far. Think a more grounded in reality version of xenoblade environs. Combat is fast and furious with the new traversal mechanic at play which borrows heavily from the warp function of FF15, but the battles feel kinda uneven. One minute you are wrecking things, the next you've been inexplicably wiped by someone else. Boss battles being the main offender there because they'll drag you face first through hellfire and brimstone not 10 seconds after you one shot the most powerful mob in the dungeon. The bosses would be perfectly acceptable as is honestly; it's the mobs that need to be bumped up a bit.
Also there is a minigame called E'sowa that has some serious promise. Its like a weird combination of chess and triple triad almost. It seems kinda simple at first, and the difficulty on the early opponents is fair. When you beat someone you get a new piece though and you'll quickly notice those new pieces allow you to absolutely crush the early competition. You'll be rolling over everyone like half way through the master ranks. Then you get to that second half of the master ranks (btw master isn't the top, there are at least 2-3 more ranks) and suddenly you'll get destroyed outta nowhere. Somewhere around the first level 5 master probably. They start getting stacked decks as well and a lot of really useful pieces that will tear you apart if you don't plan for them in advance. Really like this little game, nice diversion. |
One gripe I have, and I'll always have this gripe: Why have a super in depth crafting system if the results are random? No matter how much you level up a particularly craft and all it's associated skills, you still have absolutely no idea what you are gonna get when you start your craft. Sure, certain things become more likely outcomes, but there is never a guarantee or set recipe for anything no matter what. You can't even reliably craft trash items when you need them for quests. Such a dumb flaw for what could have been an absolutely incredible crafting system with all they have there.
|
Star ocean is one of those series that i feel like i want to beat myself over the head while i'm playing and i'm embarassed to tell people about it, yet i want to play each new game
|
I can relate to that.
|
Downloaded Horizon: Forbidden West to get ready for the Burning Shores DLC dropping tomorrow.
Exploring Yellowstone in the Frozen Wilds DLC in Zero Dawn was great. Hope Guerrilla hits it out of the park again with L.A. |
Star Ocean: The Divine Force done. Time for Valkyrie Elysium.
|
fwiw, Star Oceans end game was a letdown compared to prior entries. Yes they had the 2 bonus dungeons, if you can call one of them that, and they had the 2 recurring super bosses. But it was so much easier this time. There is no real grind. You craft some gear that will level your whole party to max in 10 minutes, you should already have the best endgame weapons and armor considering you can craft them before half way through the story if you actually use crafting, and you destroy everything. The bosses can be a bit of a health sponge but they weren't remotely threatening. Almost feels like I could just stand there and tank it all in their face. Was expecting more of a grind and more challenge :/
|
I tried divine force. I liked the characters and exploration but after 5 hiur i was bored to tears by the combat
|
Monster Hunter Rise. Maybe Subreak soon.
|
I just can't bring myself to do it.
I told myself after I finished RE4. I would actually try to finish RE6 since beside Code Veronica it's the only mainline RE Game I haven't finished. |
I'm revisiting Skyrim, focusing on the places I didn't spend too much time exploring the other several times I played the game, 10 years ago.
Kingdom Come Deliverance is on my to-do list; bought it 2-3 years ago and barely touched the game due to various reasons. |
Yep...no.
Gave up on Resident Evil 6 within 10 minutes. |
Blazblue Tag is pretty solid.

The animations are excellent
