The WWE is doing a horrendous job at managing their current roster. I honestly believe that hiring more talents and maintaining two distinct brands would definitely benefit their product. They can have writers on RAW and an old-school booking team on the superior Smackdown show. I am also not sold on having one heavyweight champion as there are way too many former champions on the roster who have absolutely nothing going on for them.

#1-norm-fan 02-16-2014 06:16 AM

Having two titles isn't a good solution for lazy writing where no one is involved in anything. All having two titles does is make the main event scene less of a big deal because there's no ultimate prize.

If they wanna use a title to give guys something to do, they need to use the U.S. and I.C. titles as major upper-midcard goals instead of having two world titles.

#1-norm-fan 02-16-2014 09:59 AM

Either that or just use the US title as a step down from the IC Title for the guys below the upper-midcard. Kinda like the TV Title was in the early to mid 90's in WCW. A potential stepping stone to the IC Title which is a potential stepping stone to the World title. The roster is packed enough to make each division awesome.

I feel like this is begging for a few of TPWW finest to create there own accounts...

– Just to note TPWW readers – there seems to be an imposter who apparently is replying to site users below in the comments section under a name nearly identical to my posting name and is also using the same profile photo that I use. For future reference, if a post on the comments section is from me, my name will have the word “MOD” next to it. I often don’t reply as I like to let you guys have fun and interact with each other. 99% of you guys are awesome and we can’t thank you enough that. There will always be that select few though and it sucks as they ruin it for everyone else. The current mod team and I are banning the imposters and their IPs as we see them. I know several other users have had the same issue as you’ve emailed us about it. We are taking care of things and are talking with DISQUES to explore possible legal action in the near future. They are working with us to provide IP’s and locations of the people responsible for the imposter accounts. It’s sad that someone actually takes the time to create profiles with near identical names, same profile photos, etc. Some people have way too much time on their hands I guess. We apologize for the issues and are working hard to fix things. Thanks for sticking with us guys.

They don't have to step down either of the titles... just have the fucking champions defend them. On a regular basis. In feuds.

They just made a big deal about Mox not defending the US Championship in quite awhile, but that was less because it's true and more about pushing Reigns. Instead of laying the groundwork for either a) someone chasing chickenshit heel ducking them, or b) playing the role of Horsemen to keep Ambrose as champion like he's the new Ric Flair, they instead made it an afterthought for Roman to make a dig at Dean for that juicy dissention in The Shield crap that will likely lead to a break up that doesn't really need to happen and affects so many decent tag teams (let's break them up just for the sake of it - INSTANT FEUD!!!).

The bigger issue is that WWE has a bad habit in recent years of just putting belts on people and then forgetting about it, unless they're one of the world champions... and then even that applied to the "Big Gold Belt" as of late. Really, the last time anyone seemed to have given a damn about the midcard titles is when Cody broke out the white leather I.C. strap. Remember Curtis Axel lost it to Big E? Henning* Jr doesn't seem to really give a shit that even happened and is now just paling around with Ryback. No war. No feud. Just the requisite rematch, another loss, and then an "oh well". And then, this goes back to not pushing people and wondering why nobody is over or credible. Why should I care about any of the championships if your fucking champions don't?

How many more face/heel alignment changes can they cram in to that time?</font>

If the timing was better (a couple months from now) you'd almost have to think that Axel was supposed to be Punk cause Austin/Lesnar/Punk 3 pack would be awesome.

SlickyTrickyDamon 02-17-2014 02:47 AM

Or Austin was supposed to be Punk. People don't really remember Austin as a Paul Heyman Guy (at least the WWE action figure buying audience.)

Droford 02-17-2014 02:53 AM

or maybe Axel was supposed to be Goldberg who decided not to sign a new deal?

dont want to relive that do we..

When was the last time the WWE had a guy hit his finisher on 10-15 people at once?

With WWE bundling their pay-per-view events on the $9.99/month Network, there has been a lot of buzz in the cable/satellite TV industry that top providers will be retaliating against WWE by no longer covering their events. Following the announcement of the WWE Network, a spokesperson for DirecTV told the Los Angeles Times:

“Clearly we need to quickly re-evaluate the economics and viability of their business with us, as it now appears the WWE feels they do not need their PPV distributors.”

They added that sales WWE PPV events “have been steadily declining, and this new low-cost competitive offering will only accelerate this trend.” DirecTV still has Elimination Chamber listed on their website as of this writing.
