You never know. The last one didn't look great on paper, but it turned out to be pretty fucking good.

I thought last years was pretty shite. Only decent match on the whole card was the one I was least looking forward to (not including any divas matches).

Becky Lynch could be the closest thing the WWE has to a badass submission machine in the female division. They really, really want Ronda Rousey, but why not make their own?

TNA are being really petty about AJ Styles signing with the WWE.

Mr. Nerfect 01-22-2016 09:26 PM

I was thinking the other day: With the WWE being bitten by the injury bugs lately, what do you think the chances are that they'll go to Rey Mysterio with a big six-month deal to come in and work with The New Day or Kevin Owens or something?

AJ Styles has always been synonymous with TNA and TNA synonymous with AJ Styles. AJ helped build the foundation of IMPACT WRESTLING, and his phenomenal body of work lives in our rich history - something we are very proud of.

In the last few weeks, rumors have swirled about AJ Styles, his future and TNA Wrestling. Fans have asked for the status and wrestling media have made numerous inquiries.

For the past several months, AJ and TNA were involved in serious discussions to bring him back home to TNA. Creative discussions escalated and two additional wrestlers, Drew Hankinson and Chad Allegra, were enthusiastically added.

These discussions culminated on December 14th in Nashville, Tenn., where all attended a meeting at Dixie Carter's home. A handshake and written deal between AJ, Drew, Chad and TNA was agreed upon and signed by all. Start dates were determined, creative decided, merchandise designed and plane tickets purchased.

Over the Christmas holiday, and after the lawyers finalized the long form agreement, all communication with TNA stopped.

AJ's lawyer contacted TNA and stated the wrestlers had changed their mind and would not be honoring their commitment to TNA.

Supposedly TNA is still pissed about losing out on both AJ and Karl Anderson that they are tryong to smear AJ's name as someone who's not trustworthy. Also might have implied they committed contract tampering when trying to get Anderson and Gallows when both might have been still legally contracted to NJPW.

As he prepares to take a year off from the ring, TNA has reportedly offered a new deal to Kurt Angle. According to PWInsider, the new deal would be for a non-wrestling role and would have Angle associated with TNA as an ambassador and the face of the company.

Angle would also work with younger talents to help them improve. The idea would be for Angle to be a "living legend" who's always around. It was also noted that Angle has not accepted the deal yet.

  • James Storm's new deal with TNA appears to be a guaranteed contract that would have Panda Energy on the hook if TNA were to fold before it finished. His deal is in the 2 year, $250k range and around $150k more than what the WWE gave as an offer.
  • La Sombra recently teased on Instagram that he will be making his official NXT tv debut very soon. www.instagram.com/p/BA21fqplnON/

Austin Aries is one of the most captivating workers I have ever seen. A lot of the ROH guys often bored me trying to get their "shit in" or go long. Aries can keep me on the edge of my seat for a 20-minute match.

My guess is that we're heading towards Finn Balor vs. Sami Zayn, Samoa Joe vs. Apollo Crews, Baron Corbin vs. Austin Aries, Dash & Dawson vs. American Alpha and Bayley vs. Asuka for Takeover Dallas, which would be fucking sexy.

PWI had an in-depth article regarding how the situation between AJ Styles and TNA deteriorated to the point that TNA felt it was perfectly fine to make it public and trash Styles a bit.

According to PWI, talks started in November with TNA wanting Styles to be signed by the time they'd debut on POP in January. Anderson and Gallows got involved from a suggestion by one of the sides in the talks.

All three supposedly had a personal meeting with Dixie in December over potential contract details and debut storylines. TNA claims all three signed a deal while all three denied it actually happening. The big key is no lawyers for either side were involved so its very likely this deal was just a non-legally binding "gentleman's agreement" instead.

Once Styles' lawyer got involved, whatever deal was made was likely voided since TNA knew his lawyer would be against any deal made without his involvement beforehand. Anderson and/or his lawyer likely rejected the deal due to the lower than expected offer given.

Around the same time, the WWE got involved and basically outbid TNA which is why all three (plus Nakamura) are going to the WWE. TNA got furious once Styles' lawyer said the talks were off and hinted a deal with WWE was already done.

Being rumored TNA might consider legal action against Styles and the WWE but would need to prove the documents signed by all three guys were legit contracts.

Innovator 01-23-2016 08:21 AM

A letter of intent isn't a deal, and they probably used it as leverage against WWE. Also, Anderson is under contract, so have fun with those tampering charges

No its still a good show and a wrestling rosters that pretty good to. You cant blame them for trying to get the hottest free agents on the market. Really dont see any thing they done wrong in the situation other than tampering which probably wasnt that big of a deal if it was just a verbal agreement.
