I had a wrestling dream last night. Here are some of the things that I remember

- CM Punk returned and the crowd went nuts
- Dolph Ziggler wrestled "old school" Bret "The Hitman" Hart
- I had a mini kart race with Hornswoggle, Mark Zuckerberg and a few more people

The stunner is quite amusing in reverse.

Vince sounds like he is speaking in German

That is actually brilliant. Mainly because of Cody and "Clem".

His deal wasn't up, he just can't go overseas. You know, because of the whole felony thing.

Anybody Thrilla 02-14-2014 10:13 PM

Holy shit, that Cesaro/Orton match was titties.

I was there on Vince's dime. It was awesome. I dare say that prior to your win, I was the PWW member who had taken the largest amount of Vince's money.

Anybody Thrilla 02-14-2014 11:22 PM

How'd you do that, parkmania?

Also, I loved that Trish/Mickie match so much.

parkmania 02-14-2014 11:39 PM

Won a contest on wwe.com. Free round trip plane, hotel, tix to WM, HOF, the Video Game Challenge, and the special breakfast. This was before they did Axxess, or at least before it was a big enough deal that it was worth going to. They had a lot of their displays that I assume have become part of that in a local mall.

Anybody Thrilla 02-14-2014 11:51 PM

That's pretty awesome. Was it just a random draw, or did you actually have to do something?

I am loving The BFF's unused lyrical theme.

Lock Jaw 02-15-2014 12:36 AM

I like it better without the lyrics. I love Summer Rae's NXT theme for whatever reason.

Fignuts 02-15-2014 04:05 AM

That Uso's suicide dive tag was pretty fucking great.

Seth82 02-15-2014 12:50 PM

lol this radio jock is lucky he and Eddie Graham never met up.

From 1979 this is a short audio clip of Eddie Graham calling WDBO radio personality Wayne Trout. On a previous broadcast the topic of professional wrestling came up and Trout voiced his opinion that wrestling was theatrics and acting. Eddie Graham got wind of this from wrestlers who heard the broadcast. A few days later he called the station to talk to Trout. As far as i know there was never a meeting between the two.

Shane McMahon's name has come up in a story about a fraudulent deal to purchase Maxim magazine. The New York Post reports that convicted stock swindler Calvin Darden Jr. had put together an offer to buy the magazine but was arrested on Wednesday for lying to investors in raising money for the purchase. Darden Jr. made investors believe his wealthy father was going to buy the magazine and was trying to defraud McMahon out of $20 million.

Today will be looked back upon as one of the most historic dates in the history of professional wrestling as at the end of business today, Comcast's exclusivity to negotiate a new TV deal with WWE will end - setting off a chain of events that will tell the tale of the future of professional wrestling.

Once WWE receives Comcast's new offer for keeping their broadcast partnership and exclusivity going forward, WWE can choose to sign the new deal or open the negotiations up for outside entities to bid on the WWE programming.

As we've noted before, WWE smartly timed this so that all of their cable series - Raw, Smackdown, Total Divas, Main Event - as well as a potentially resurrected Saturday Morning Slam - are part of the negotiations, allowing WWE to move everything as one monster package, similar to what major sports leagues such as the NBA and NASCAR do with their programming partners.

Several months back, Variety noted that WWE had reached out or had meetings with A&E, Disney, Viacom, 21st Century Fox and Discovery about potential broadcast partnerships.

Comcast will have the chance to match any outside offers, according to reports in the NYC media, so even if another entity comes in with a big offer, they will have a chance to keep WWE under their umbrella.

WWE intends to announce their new deal in April or May. Should programming need to move from Comcast to another partner, that would come in early October.

NBC Universal owns the current WWE license and Comcast itself owns NBC Universal but their cable division isn't the one in the negotiations. According to the Observer, there is very little real interest from other networks to buy the WWE tv deal because of the asking price being too huge.

As always, the WrestleMania I main event tag team match is still being considered, but is said to be held up until Mr. T accepts the induction.

Droford 02-15-2014 06:11 PM

WWE is going to end up on Spike TV again isn't it? Of all the networks listed Viacom is the only one I could honestly see paying the money for it. Discovery and Disney are out, A&E would rather pay for cheap reality shows. The only Wild Card is Fox, I suppose they could put it on FX/FXX..

With a Viacom deal, Total Divas would fit in on VH1. Sat Morning slam on Nikelodeon..I suppose Raw and SD would have to air on spike though..

James Steele 02-15-2014 06:15 PM

"WWE ON A&E"

Droford 02-15-2014 06:24 PM

Total Divas move to Lifetime lol

el bobbo 02-15-2014 09:46 PM

WWE should move to Discovery Channel. Team Discovery Channel!

Loser of the SMS match gets slimed please.

... Do they still slime people on Nickelodeon? I'd be sad if they didn't.

#1-norm-fan 02-15-2014 10:51 PM

Also, Smackdown would end up on MTV or something ala Sunday Night Heat.

Anybody Thrilla 02-15-2014 11:36 PM

The streamer gimmick in ROH is just outright silly.

Anybody Thrilla 02-15-2014 11:36 PM

Also, when did Maria Kanellis start talking like a dude?

Anybody Thrilla 02-15-2014 11:37 PM

Also, Michael Bennett has the promo skills of a dishwasher.

Anybody Thrilla 02-15-2014 11:40 PM

Maria's ass is not manly though. Very nice.

Anybody Thrilla 02-15-2014 11:40 PM

I can't right remember what Rhett Titus looks like or does, but this Romantic Touch gimmick seems infinitely more entertaining than whatever it possibly could have been.

Anybody Thrilla 02-15-2014 11:45 PM

Is Michael Bennett trying to lure CM Punk to ROH? So sure that'll work.

Anybody Thrilla 02-16-2014 12:11 AM

Matt Hardy's pants have always been fairly stupid.

Heh, hasn't he been trying to lure Samoa Joe back since forever?

Impressed with Mark Briscoe a bit.

I met the Briscoes, didn't really get to talk much with them as they were bleeding pretty bad after a match with Necro Butcher and some other dude. It wasn't death match or anything, just really brutal.

Some guy kept telling them how he hadn't seen a fight like that since ECW.

That's also the night I met Sweet and Sour. :(

Anybody Thrilla 02-16-2014 12:22 AM

All those crazy moves...and the weakest looking one gets the duke. What the hell is this?
