did you report the host for tampering? The only way they can mod a game is with a jtagg'd console, so if you report them, microsoft can easily ban the console because you cant hide a jtag altered system like you can a modded dvd drive.

Requiem 02-28-2010 04:19 PM

Did not know who the host was, nor did I care. I dashboarded after I died the first time.

I always report people who send me messages for glitch lobbies though.

El Fangel 02-28-2010 08:06 PM

You can check to see who the host is at the start of the match its the player with the best (4 green bar) connection.

RoXer 02-28-2010 08:54 PM

No kidding?

RoXer 02-28-2010 08:55 PM

I guess they must have added that in the patch.

El Fangel 02-28-2010 09:12 PM

Yeah when the match begins, everyone but the host only has a 1 bar connection, then all the other players connections show up.

RoXer 02-28-2010 09:23 PM

Get out of town!

RoXer 02-28-2010 09:24 PM

I wonder if it was like that in the other 5 games.

El Fangel 02-28-2010 09:26 PM

Just check next time you are playing.

Also, was playing domination with the guys and we won both matches but I was shoved through teh meat grinder saving flags and I have worked on my k/d too long for it to go -50 in like 4 matches, thats why I play TDME

RoXer 02-28-2010 09:28 PM

I will definitly check the next time I play because this is the first time I've heard anything like this about any game played online.

El Fangel 02-28-2010 09:39 PM

well, to tell you what to look for, at the start of the game (as its counting down) you press the button to look at the scores and connection.

The player who is the host, will have a 4 bar green connection. Everyone else will have a red 1 bar as they connect slower. A few seconds later it will show everyones connection usually 3-4 green bars which while good, the first player to connect is deemed best host.

RoXer 02-28-2010 09:45 PM

Wow! Amazing!

I've played online games for many years and I've never heard of anything like this!

El Fangel 02-28-2010 09:48 PM

I am sure you are just being a jackass now.

RoXer 02-28-2010 09:49 PM

Buddy, I was being a jackass from the begining.

G 02-28-2010 09:55 PM

lol come on

G 02-28-2010 09:55 PM

i played in one of those fast strafing matches. did a couple rounds then got sick of it.

Requiem 02-28-2010 10:07 PM

lol Roxer

El Fangel 02-28-2010 10:10 PM

At G, how about when the whole other team is doing it and you are going normal speed.

G 02-28-2010 10:16 PM

never had that happen. join my party. i want to hear you freak out.

RoXer 02-28-2010 10:19 PM

Hear

G 02-28-2010 10:23 PM

wow

G 02-28-2010 10:24 PM

can't remember the last time that has happened

alvarado52 02-28-2010 10:24 PM

f'sho.

El Fangel 02-28-2010 10:33 PM

I told you, I dont freak out, I curse a bit when I get killed at 6 in a row (next kill would be harriers or 10 in a row (next would be chopper gunner) or when I get killed 5+ times in a row shortly after spawning.

I dont actually "freak" out, so you would be disappointed.

G 02-28-2010 11:21 PM

lol

That is awesome, I remember seeing it on a MW2 news thing on Facebook.

G 02-28-2010 11:53 PM

gonna try to do that

El Fangel 03-01-2010 01:25 AM

I did a few times and failed, the guy ran off before I could get the message out, perhaps "Camping Faggot" is a bit too hard to spell that fast.

G 03-01-2010 08:09 AM

i have a chat pad, so hopefully i can get it out real fast

Rumor: Activision ousts Infinity Ward studio heads

by Kevin Kelly http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.en...writer_rss.gif { Mar 2nd 2010 at 3:35AM } http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.jo...reaking001.png http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.jo...eatured001.png
<!-- sphereit start --> Earlier tonight, G4's The Feed website ran a story from a source at Infinity Ward that a "bunch of 'bouncer-types' just showed up outside of the Infinity Ward offices unannounced. When approached by employees, the non-uniformed 'bouncers' were unwilling to disclose why they were there ... everyone is on edge" and "Infinity Ward studio heads Vince Zampella and Jason West reportedly met with Activision this morning and have not been seen by Infinity Ward staff members since."

To be honest, it smelled a little funny. Bouncers showing up in late in the evening to bar people from offices? Only one source for the story? We were ready to chalk it up as a publicity stunt, possibly as a lead-in for the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 DLC, or possibly some unannounced game. But information keeps coming in, and unless someone at Activision has faked an SEC filing (which is probably illegal somewhere, right?), some big changes are coming for the Activision-owned developer.

We drove over to Infinity Ward's offices (they're nearby) and we asked the front desk guard if anything like that hed been going on. He told us not to his knowledge, and that he would have known if something was going on. The lights were on, but the parking lot was empty and no one besides the guard was around. Calls to Robert Bowling and Infinity Ward went to voicemail. Makes the story seem suspect, right?

But wait, there's more. Apparently Activision filed a Form 10-K with the SEC on Monday, which is basically an overview of the company's financial condition, and includes any information that could possibly affect that condition. This filing states "In November 2009, the Company released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, a game developed by one of the Company's wholly-owned studios, Infinity Ward. As noted above, Modern Warfare 2 was the best selling console title in the U.S. and Europe in 2009. Consistent with past practice, the Company intends to release a Call of Duty game in 2010 developed by another wholly-owned studio. The Company is concluding an internal human resources inquiry into breaches of contract and insubordination by two senior employees at Infinity Ward. This matter is expected to involve the departure of key personnel and litigation. At present, the Company does not expect this matter to have a material impact on the Company."

There's the smoking gun. Hopefully we can get a statement tomorrow, as all calls and emails tonight are going unanswered. It must be some pretty serious insubordination to make you let go the studio heads who just delivered a game that's brought in a billion dollars already. Jason West, co-studio head has reportedly changed both his Facebook status and LinkedIn page to state that he was no longer employed. Has he really been let go? Is this a massive publicity stunt? Well they surprise us an announce Call of Duty: Hello Kitty Edition? As soon as we get the news, we'll pass it along.

Kalyx triaD 03-02-2010 02:31 PM

Yikes.

Emperor Smeat 03-02-2010 02:49 PM

Yeup its official, the CEO and studio's head boss got fired.

http://kotaku.com/5483492/scandal-hi...yline=true&s=i

Quote:

Update 1: CEO and studio head Vince Zampella's Linked In account updated about 9 a.m. Mountain time this morning. The profile now shows his job at Infinity Ward as previous employment. Under experience Zampella lists his job ending at Infinity Ward this month, after 8 years and three months with the company. His current job and title are listed as TBD.
Biggest rumor now is the whole issue is a disagreement about unpaid royalties between Activision and Infinity Ward over Modern Warfare 2.

Kalyx triaD 03-02-2010 02:57 PM

I'm inclined to side with the dev teams, and blindly so. So fuck Activision.

La la la la la la...

Blitz 03-02-2010 05:44 PM

Don't care unless it affects DLC.

Looks like the Activision-Infinity Ward feud goes farther than just unpaid royalties since some places are reporting the CEOs of Infinity Ward got upset a new studio would be added to help make Call of Duty games.

Infinity Ward then secretly makes negotiations with other publishers for future support and might have included a Call of Duty game (or spinoff game) since Infinity Ward owns a % of the series and Activision ended up freaking out and firing the CEOs. The whole unpaid royalties was meant for the CEOs and not the studio itself.

FearedSanctity 03-02-2010 08:05 PM

So pretty much now these guys will go and start a new studio and likely make a new series to spite Activision. Way to go guys

El Fangel 03-02-2010 09:15 PM

I really fucking suck at HC:SD

alvarado52 03-02-2010 10:30 PM

ran off 23 straight wins yesterday...then finished the night with three straight losses. Take the good with the bad i guess.
