Waiting for "Superman" - 10/10
|
A Spy Who Loved Me - 3.5 out of 5
Get Him to the Greek - 3 out of 5 |
12 Angry Men - 10/10
Crazy, Stupid, Love - 7/10 127 Hours - 10/10 Truly fucking inspirational. I got some minor complaints but I'll save those for a rainy day. Film direction like this and a score like this (during the end) is a reason why I want to work in film one day. |
12 Angry Men is probably my favourite film of all time.
|
Warrior - 8/10
Only posting about this because despite Tom Hardy and Nick Nolte being in it, I expected it to be your "typical fighting/MMA film" and whilst the cliches are knocking around, it's surprisingly very good and is more of a story about relationships and the characters themselves as opposed to the fighting. And the fights, especially Brendan/Joel Edgerton's, are very well done/engaging. And Nick Nolte is like Best Supporting Actor good in it. PLUS Kurt Angle as an indestructible Russian. There are many worse things to watch for 2 hours. |
Underworld: Rise of the Lycans - 4 out of 5
|
Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. Really enjoyed this much more than the 3rd one..
And I really find it awkwardly funny that the director of this is the same guy responsible for Pixar stuff like Ratatouille and The Incredibles. While Scorsese known for gang films has Hugo a children's flick. Talk about reversal of directors making movies for kids and adults. Love the old school theme played at the start credits too.. same with the lighted fuse sequence. 9/10. |
The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest (2009) - 70
I think what's more interesting and compelling than the movie is what's happening behind it. How the author of these books died, how the series is planning to continue etcetc. As a standalone movie by itself, this one wasn't much. But if you told me it part of an entire series than I can understand the slower pacing. Where do they go from here? |
She kicked the hornets nest, now she has to live with the consequences.
|
The Devil's Double - 77
|
Midnight in Paris - Probably the best Woody Allen movie since Deconstructing Harry. 8/10
The Artist - 7/10 The Kid With a Bike - 7/10 Hot Coffee - Documentary about how the McDonalds "hot coffee" case was distorted by big business to promote tort reform. I remember tort reform being a big issue during Obamacare and this was a fascinating rebuttal, showing that tort reform real interest isn't just stopping "frivolous lawsuits" but it severely compromises all citizens right to seek justice. Also, the election process for judges in the U.S. is fucked. They also showed pictures of the woman's burns...jesus christ. NSFW: show |
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows 8/10
Hard to follow at times but overall pretty fun. Spoiler: They cut out the scene with the "Get that out of my face" "It's not in your face it's in my hand" "Get what's in your hand out of my face" Disappointed me there |
Moneyball - 79
|
Don't be Afraid of the Dark - 7/10.
|
The Change-Up - 77
|
Gone Baby Gone - 1/10
What a gay movie. So fucking gay. Irish people from Boston sound like such dipshits. who talks like that what a gay fucking accent. So gay. |
Sleeping Beauty (2011) 8/10 (was beautiful and cool and awesome but loses two points for gratuitous old man penis)
& The Bothersome Man (2006) 7.5/10 (was nice to look at and reminiscent of Wristcutters: A Love Story - if it was made by a Norwegian. Loses points for uber slow pace at times and general empathetic feelings of total misery.) |
Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol - 87
|
Bridesmaids: 9/10
Bad Teacher: 8/10 |
Our Idiot Brother - 79
|
Crazy, Stupid, Love - 87
|
The new Sherlock Holmes: 8/10
|
Watched all of the Harry Potter movies this week, never seen them or read books. Right when they all started to come out and be popular, I was at age where it was uncool to be into it all. Never really was that interested, even when I decided to watch them this week. Overall it's a decent series. Nothing super amazing for me. Don't see myself ever watching any of them again. Like I just finished the finale, after investing maybe 18 hours into watching them all. And don't really care or feel like it was epic. Where if I watch The Fucking Shield, even the finale gives me such a rush for being a great story. 6.5/10

The Patrick Stewart version of A Christmas Carol - 7/10
|
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ElY9q-RtNs.../possessed.jpg
aka Possessed. This was my christmas gift from dad btw.. Original dvd. Korea's own version of The Omen/Exorcist style... Not only that in the movie, the main chick is some kind of healer Christ like figure as well as half-demon. Fucking weird creepy shit I've seen. The korean religious nutjob of a mom can be just as scary as the possessed daughter. It was a good scare flick. 8/10. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/q-8uT1O0O_M" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Your entire family likes horror flicks?
|
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows - 3/5
Certainly not as good as the first. |

Kramer vs Kramer - 7/10
Super 8 - 1.5/10 Terrible. But hilarious at the same time. *A house gets shot by a tank. It leaves a huge hole in the wall that the audience can clearly see." Kid: THERE'S A HOLE IN THE WALL! *Kids running through a school at night* Kid: I CAN"T BELIEVE WE'RE BREAKING INTO THE SCHOOL! *Kids can't get something open with a crowbar* Kid: PROFESSIONAL ROBBERS DON'T USE THESE! *Guy cannot continue due to marijuana use* KID: THIS IS WHY DRUGS ARE BAD! |
That's one way of looking at it I suppose
|
I got multiple ways of looking at it.

Friends With Benefits - 7/10
Horrible Bosses - 8.5/10 |
Warrior - 9/10

I really enjoyed this.. At first, it felt like Vertical Limit. But then the plot shifts to a kidnapped Serbian girl who doesn't speak English yet she's for ransom.. SPOILER: show Still, it was quite intense with the sniper shootout while running away with the kidnapped girl. 7/10. |
/Rise of the Planet of the Apes - 7/10
|
Warrior 7/10 Kurt Angle lawl
Our Idiot Brother 8/10 Zooey Deschanel YUM 2012 Zombie Apocalypse 3/10 Didn't know Redbox was letting out Syfy made for TV movies. However, nice to see Ving Rhames and Crabman from My Name Is Earl |
Picking up where I left off...
Diamonds Are Forever 7/10 Was real glad to have Connery back. Though real sad because I know it was his last (official) one. |
Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (Remake)-8.5/10. Perhaps too slow paced at times, but a hell of a movie with some fantastic performances.
Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol-6/10. I was entertained, but only because the movie was so goddamned ridiculous. Points mostly for Jeremy Renner and the whole sequence on the side of the Burj Khalifa. |

8/10.. Enjoyed just as much as the 1st one... There's gonna be a 3rd and the final sequel for this one.. Same directors too! |
Live and Let Die
4/10 Mr. Roger Moore not off to a good start, as this is the first Bond movie in the series that I have considered bad. The excessively long boat chase scene with the hick yokel sheriff was pretty brutal. |
Darkest Hour - 2/10
First off, the movie lasted much longer than an hour. They don't really explain anything as to why all the stuff is happening. Combine that with cheesy dialogue and you have the worst movies I've seen this year. |
A Good Old Fashion Orgy - 7/10
Feels like I've seen about 20 Jason Sudeikis films this year |
Milk - 10/10
|
The Expendables - 5/10
No real substance to it, but fun for the explosions and having so many bad asses in one movie. |
Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark: 3/10. Huge disappointment.
|
The Adventures of Tin Tin - 10/10
I am all praises for this one. Spielberg has done an amazing job and it's a must see for all Tin Tin comic fans. I am not a fan of 3D, but it did add a lot of "depth" to this movie. Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol - 7/10 My first Mission Impossible movie ever. I watched it in an iMAX theatre and I was blown away. Around 30 minutes of the movie were shot for iMAX. I don't like Tom Cruise but the stunt he pulled off on the outside of Burj Khalifa was applaudable. Overall, the movie was fun to watch. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows - 8/10 I am a huge Robert Downey Jr. fan and just like the first one, this movie was delightful too. The visuals of this movie in certain scenes were breathtaking, a step above the first film. |
Hobo With a Shotgun - 9.5/10
This really drew me in and I loved every minute of it. |
Our Idiot Brother - 8/10
|
Horrible Bosses - 8/10
Dick Tracy - 7/10 I watched 121 movies in 2011 that I have NEVER seen. Gonna go for 122 this year. Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol - 7/10 121 to go.... |
Bully - 7/10
pretty good indy flick from 2001 The story concerns the plot to murder a mutual friend of several young adults in Southern Florida, in revenge for his continual abuse and psychological torture of others. |
Mission Impossible 4 : Ghost Protocol
4/5 Great action sequences. Love the little plot twists. Would of loved a little bit more background on some characters but still a great movie. |
Bucky Larson Born To Be A Star 10/10
|
Easy A 7/10
|
I have not seen "the Devil inside" but I was amused at the spoiler I read for the ending:
SPOILER: show |
The Devil Inside - 0/10
The best parts of this "movie" were in the trailer. |
Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows. better improvement than the 1st. Lots of funny moments.. And Noomi rapace (my new crush) Swedish dragon tattoed girl Lisbeth!!
8/10 |
Friends With Benefits - 5/10
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy - 6/10 The Switch - 5/10 Attack the Block - 6/10 Sleeping Beauty - 5/10 Sex and Lucia- 7/10 (Saw it with more attention :-\) |
Cannibal Women In The Avocado Jungle Of Death - 2/10
A couple of the jokes were alright, but most of them were awful. The boobs did not disguise this film's shortcomings. |
Primer - 1/10
No idea what was happening, and people were talking over each other too much. |
The Iron Lady - 6/10 - Fantastic performance from Streep and great cast, but too much focus on the current Thatcher and not on her history or the politics or characters at the time.
|
Blood Gnome - 1/10
Really poorly thought-out, and acted. |

http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/3417/sint2010.jpg Jeeper Creepers + Rare Exports. I liked how they stayed away from the usual stereotype of Santa Claus as a fat bellied bearded cheerful guy. The Dutch call him St. Niklas instead of Santa. And he's more of a theiving pirate rogue evil bishop who enjoys eating children every Dec 5 full moon.. 6/10. |
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2012) - 4.5/5
A little too slow for the pace. But it's easy to keep up with. Go see it if you're up for a good mole hunt. |
The Skin I Live In - 7/10
|
http://bluraymedia.ign.com/bluray/im...406220-000.jpg
Really liked this.. Characteristics of trolls in this movie: SPOILER: show The car chase climax was like Jurassic Park... 8/10. |
Finally watched Dear Zachary - 9/10
Fucking film gutted me. Almost cried myself to sleep. |
Real Steel 3.5/5
|
Witchmaster General - 0/10
Some of the worst acting I've ever seen, as well as the worst filming locations. |
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo - 85
The Daniel Craig version. It was good, just as good as the Swedish version, just different. I think I prefer the Swedish version but ether one was good. |
Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows - 70
|
And then I downloaded a bunch of movies. Dunno when I'll get to them.
|
The Men Who Stare at Goats - 4 out of 5
|

Finally got around to see the sequel of Kubrick's 2001 Space Odyssey. Even though the explanation of the monoliths is a typical sci-fi stuff and no match for the 1st one, it was just as enjoyable as can be. there's even one scene where even the main astronaut Dave Bowman makes SPOILER: show As for the black monolith origins in this one well let's just say, SPOILER: show As for the ending, SPOILER: show The theme music was a little bit faster but still, Kubrick's 2001 will always be my fave. I don't know. This could be my 2nd fave too. 7/10. |
Grave Danger - 1/10
See Witchmaster General, but with more interesting stories. |
50/50 - 10/10
|
Borat 9/10
I really enjoyed this one, it is one of the few movies I have seen that had me laughing through out the entire movie. |
Hugo - Hard to see kids enjoying this one. Slower paced plus it deals with adult themes, more for film buffs really. 8/10
Paper Moon - 9/10 Moneyball 8/10 |
Ides of March - 8/10
|
Contraband - 4/10
Edge of Darkness - 5/10 |
What Lies Beneath - 8/10
Evil Harrison Ford for the win. |
The Tree of Life- 3/10
I was expecting something else. I don't get it, and I feel like I just wasted my time. |
Limitless 7/10
