Yes and its mainly due to them stretching things out longer than it should have been because they can't make up their minds or stick to plans. They waited too long to start the feud and didn't want Bryan vs Reigns for SummerSlam. Then they decided to not have Bryan vs Reigns be at Clash which meant having to stretch out the big reveal for at least an extra month while doing a poor job with the swerves.

Whatever was meant to be the original follow up to the Rowan look-a-like reveal pretty much got tossed when Vince rewrite the script the following week.

Since it's now the 40th anniversary of the Intercontinental Championship

Do they talk about the early IC champs, or is it mostly newer stuff.

This wouldn't have been an issue if any of the attacks actually, you know, put Reigns out of action. As in off TV for a couple of weeks. But that didn't happen. He didn't miss one day of TV time despite the heinous actions of the attacks.

I figured the thing with the doppelgänger was Bryan bringing in a scapegoat to turn the finger of blame away from Rowan before revealing he was behind it all along. Roman speared Bryan cos he knew he was full of shit.

It’s only fucked if the are legit using it as a vehicle to push Rowan as a singles star.

Is Bryan a heel now?

Whole storyline got off to a bad start when Reigns simply shrugged off the initial attack and the episode ended with him walking away.

Was either John Pollock or someone else who mentioned the storyline really comes off as something being written week to week and not something that was planned out ahead of time. Like no real build up to Rowan snapping or his doppelgänger being just a swerve.

Ronda Rousey might be completely done with wrestling since WWE recently moved her profile to the "Alumni" section.

They only do that for wrestlers who got released or retired.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">WWE moved Ronda Rousey to the 'alumni' section of their website <a href="https://t.co/IolhZJm9UG">https://t.co/IolhZJm9UG</a> <a href="https://t.co/B00gkveOoK">pic.twitter.com/B00gkveOoK</a></p>&mdash; With Spandex UPROXX (@WithSpandex) <a href="https://twitter.com/WithSpandex/status/1170060114629484544?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">September 6, 2019</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

So moving Ronda to “Alumni” had to be a specific choice about her status, not just part of a general attempt to keep things current.

Does that mean Ronda Rousey is done with WWE, aside from an already-filmed season of Total Divas? It sure looks that way, but the thing about wrestling is that things are sometimes the opposite of how they look, on purpose. Some fans have already begun speculating that this is a mislead building up to Ronda’s return, but that would seem oddly timed considering she just recently had a finger pretty much ripped off. Also moving somebody to “Alumni” on the website would be a new and uncommonly subtle choice for WWE if it is indeed storytelling. Doing that wish Sasha Banks, for example, would have had a huge effect in the build-up to her recent return, but she never left the “Current Superstars” section.

I assumed it was botched horribly on day 1 when Roman no sold the scaffolding

They do, but they also go quite a bit off topic, and Randy gets muted a lot because he's swearing so much.

I have this weird feeling that FOX wants Bryan and Charlotte to be babyfaces. Most people seem to think that Bryan is going to be behind the Rowan/Roman stuff, but I think the bigger twist would be Bryan not being behind it.

I think you are correct

I actually would not mind a Bryan turn, since people love him and he’s so good at it. I get that people admire his work as a heel, but the natural thing is for him to be endearing.

Pity Sid never got a final run with wwe, that leg injury really sidelined him for far too long for any kind of a comeback, career pretty much ended in 2001.

He looks like an entirely different person. How long has his name been “Rusevig.” Could that be him getting ready to trademark something outside of WWE? Miroslav Barnyashev, or whatever his name is, doesn’t really roll off the tongue of western audiences.

Savio 09-08-2019 06:15 PM

Hey guys remember when Rusev got really over twice and WWE stepped on him twice?

#1-norm-fan 09-08-2019 06:15 PM

Think the “IG” is for Instagram. Maybe just “Rusev” was taken?

Emperor Smeat 09-08-2019 06:29 PM

Probably. The RusevBul name he uses on Twitter also seems to have been taken by someone else on Instagram.

Lock Jaw 09-08-2019 06:52 PM

Rusev's tank entrance still has to be one of my favourite Rasslemania entrances of all time, if only for the badass Russian national anthem

For as bad as ROH has been this year and people wanting NJPW to sever all ties with them, they have nothing on RevPro who have become a PR disaster within the past week.

RevPro is currently dealing with growing backlash following an incident at their recent Summer Sizzler event. A wrestler legit beat up a ref after the finals of their tag tournament match due to it ending in a botched pin. Instead of handling the problem right away, RevPro tried to sweep it under the rug only for that plan to backfire badly.

Then RevPro got called out for lying about what happened despite videos debunking their claims. Also still seem to be unwilling to help the ref who's career and soccer ref career is now in serious doubt due to the injuries he suffered.

To make things even worse, once RevPro managed to actually fire the wrestler repoinsible for the mess, the wrestler posted DMs from the owner/booker showing that he knew all along about what really happened and was pissed at the ref for going public. Also showed that the apology given was insincere.

To make things even worse, once RevPro managed to actually fire the wrestler repoinsible for the mess, the wrestler posted DMs from the owner/booker showing that he knew all along about what really happened and was pissed at the ref for going public. Also showed that the apology given was insincere.

That just sounds awful and ten times worse than the fan / Bully incident.

Flair cut a promo on Warrior telling him that Savage was trying to get Mr. Perfect to manage him at SummerSlam, so now Savage and Warrior don't trust each other and are cutting increasingly paranoid coke fueled promos on each other.

1990-92 WWF is a complete blur. I've seen so little of it just mainly because it's really bad. Everyone is too juiced up, Hogan is unbearable and everyone had overstayed their welcome. The territories were dead so it was the same tired, old faces. I actually like 93 WWF more than 90-92 just because it was different.

While most people inside the company didn’t really have much of an opinion on Punk and his body, some weren’t exactly a fan of how his body looked, according to Ross. In his view, Ross thought such opinions were not really valid given that he was blossoming into one of the company’s top stars during Punk’s time there.

“Only a few guys thought his body was not good. I remember someone saying his ass is too big and it’s too soft. It’s like, wait a minute, what are we doing here? The crowd is telling you that this guy’s over. Our job is to put an ass in every seat in the stands,” Ross said.

When podcast co-host Conrad Thompson asked Ross who actually thought Punk had a “soft ass,” Ross revealed that it was Triple H who said it.

“Hunter [said that remark]. It was all about how you looked in a workout or in an 8” x 10.” He’s not going to look the same because he is not the same. If all you’re going to do is put out androids that all look alike, then what do you got? You got no individually. I think the consensus was that he may not be in great shape because he is soft. I thought his softness, as far as his ass was concerned, was a non-issue in my view. The perception was that he had an oversized, soft ass, silly as it sounds. It doesn’t make any sense. But he fought through that bullshit and became the star that he was,” Ross said.

Based on a recent interview from Triple H, seems WWE's plans for 205 Live's future is to eventually merge it into NXT and no longer be its own dedicated brand and show.

Quote:

You’ll start to see 205 begin to. I think it always existed as an island onto itself, a little bit, and it’s become lost in this limbo. You’ll begin to see it move more towards the NXT banner and the talent there. We have a lot of talent. For them to begin to compete either open against anyone or in the cruiserweight division, but have that title sit under the NXT brand is more meaningful. It creates more opportunities for more people.
https://www.newsweek.com/triple-h-in...keover-1458604

Also seems WWE is gutting some of NXT UK's star power in order to boost NXT for the weekly live move since both Pete Dunne and Toni Storm are currently planned to be heading to NXT.

Yes since it started off as being a part of RAW due to the division being drafted there when the current Brand Split Era started.

Then the division got its own show meant to be a supplement to RAW but eventually became its own brand due to Vince's neglect.

Cole to SmackDown was something I expected. It was him, Reigns and Rousey to SmackDown that were the no brainer moves. Vic Joseph got a tryout for something. I wonder where Tom Phillips goes? Third man on SmackDown or Raw? Doesn’t seem a good place for him, because he plays the lead.

Yes, that's a whole thing that happened. Myself and current America's Got Talent finalist Ryan Niemiller put so much work into that project, and then the producer threw it all away and did his own thing. It turned out awful. There was so much potential there, and a lot of great people working on it. It was a huge disappointment for me.

The producer is kind of a "any publicity is good publicity" hack, and refuses to accept he did any wrong. He's since blocked most of us on all social media after refusing to take any criticism as anything other than "being negative."

I know there have been rumors of a podcast thing on the WWE Network and I'm down for that. An APA podcast would be great.

I also feel like they should do talk show on there. They do the KO show and stuff like that on a random Raw or Smackdown but that should really be a scheduled show on the network. Also I know they've tried some botch stuff with the Good Brothers but they could have a great podcast or show on the WWE Network. Just so many missed opportunity there.
