The scary part for ROH is they could be looking at a similar situation happening around 6 months from now since Rush, Bandido, and Cobb only signed 1 year deals with ROH. In Bandido and Cobb's cases, they only signed in order to get their foot in NJPW for their career's future.

ROH damaged themselves badly with the shitshow of a performance from their side of the G1 Supercard show when that should have been a huge spark for the company's momentum afterwards.

All of the singles champions in the company are rewarded with entries, with the exception of R-Truth because of the inevitability of his matches being interrupted due to the 24/7 title, so Bryan gets his champion spot instead.

Yes you technically could have an even better in-ring tourney by including more NXT people, but you're going to need some guys to finish at the bottom of the block and I'd rather keep the few NXT people in this strong. So that'll give a guy like Crews who is a good wrestler but never gets to show it a chance to work some fun matches even though he'll probably go 1-8 or something.

Might be too many champions in this, some of them are going to have to lose. But if they're mostly losing to each other it's not all that bad. Lone exception to this being Nese, he'd probably lose to most people....could replace him with Buddy Murphy or something if he's still alive.

Anyway, the effectiveness of this tourney would be lost in modern WWE because the show is already just filled with random singles matches. But there'd be some sweet first time match potential in here. Would be particularly keen to see WALTER chop the shit out of people.

Seems WWE might be changing plans in regards to having an NXT branch in Latin America.

Instead of having Chile as the base and using it as a launchpad into the tougher Mexican scene, they might be jumping right into Mexico from the start.

Also seems The Crash is going to be their affiliated promotion in Mexico since WWE are sending Rey Mysterio and Angel Garza (Garza Jr) to an upcoming event for The Crash.

In a weird way WWE/AEW could kill off anything other than indy-indys it feels like...

Outside of some exceptions, Sinclair barely funds ROH to begin with. Gives them just enough to be above operatable but not enough to actually expand into a bigger company.

ROH's biggest value to Sinclair is being a consistent and very cheap provider of weekly live content for the network. Same reason why Anthem hesitates on actually selling Impact and why USA Network gave up on finding a potential replacement show for RAW.

Watching Memphis again. There is a spectacularly brutal tag match between Buddy Landel/Bill Dundee Versus a local team of Jim Jameson and David Haskins in 1986.

I think there are two moves, Landel Dropkick and a Dundee press slam. The rest of the match is just an endless barrage of what look like legitimate punches mixed in with some horribly stiff kicks, forearms and elbows.

You have to see this, at one point the jobber Haskins just starts gobbing blood out of his mouth then they drag him up to the commentary table and you can see his face is lumped up beyond belief.

The guy sells it like he has just had the shit kicked out of him because he clearly really has.

You should see this thing, it's on Prime. Best of CWA 1986 Volume 4 at around the 1 hour 10 minute mark.

Just brutal.

I started watching I think it was in 92 where Snuka debuted, Ventura was new, Valentine wanting Pedro bad... pretty cool stuff. So is it all about the Spectrum and Garden or is there another show? 1. They had a few shows. The main shows were Championship Wrestling and All Star Wrestling. They also had shows like Maple Leaf Wrestling which were Canadian Specific and had to be shot in Brantford Ontario (began in late 84), Wrestling at the Chase in St.Louis (Very early 84. Hogan's first WWF match in his return) and later World Championship Wrestling on TBS (Black Saturday). Then you had Prime Time Wrestling and TNT.

3. NESN didnt start airing Boston show till 85 which I have a bunch of. I have a few Meadowlands shows from 84 as well as various house from all over the place
