You joke, but have you ever seen a regular sized man push a smaller than average sized man when they’re having an argument? That shit will make you fear for your life.

At this point, I think we can safely say that the “CM” stands for Charles Manson. Pure evil.

I'd like to see Punk try his luck with guys like Mox, Hobbs or even Luchasauras.

Those boos were pretty menacing. Can Tony fire the crowd?

All that fear for his life, but he still had time to talk about how he now owns ROH lol |
Collision was good, felt like a bit of a packed show to try and fend off the lack of Punk in Chicago and looked like it worked tbh. Other than booing the Bucks which was a given, the crowd seemed into it and didn't really hijack anything.
Danielson vs. Starks is nice, I really hope Starks goes over even if its dodgy which looks likely in a no DQ with Big Bill floating around. TKs address was fine, it is what it is. The guy could personally give every person in the IWC a million bucks and a portion would hate him because hes living out there EWR dream and the jealousy is real. I have no doubt if TK wasnt within his rights to fire/release CM Punk, Punk will sue him and we will soon hear all about it. Hell even if hes got Punk dead to rights I half expect a law suit. Not a lot on for me tomorrow, I might order the PPV tbh. I didnt expect to but when they ran the card theres plenty on there even if I kinda wanted a World title match. |
Oh and more really good work from OC on that promo. I'm quite intrigued by the him and Mox match.
The whole "I am Orange Cassidy and I don't have a catchphrase" is all kinds of great. I would like to see OC win then go back to not saying a lot again and bring this out for the big deal stuuff. |
Read the results, this sounded interesting so I watched it. This is the kind of stuff that makes me love wrestling, just such a good swerve
|

Nah, can’t watch Collision anymore. It’s done. Let me guess: Ricky said “I said The Dragon will challenge you. I didn’t say WHICH Dragon! Here’s The American Dragon!”
|
Nailed it
|
It is the simplicity in the swerve and Starks selling of it that makes it good.
|
Steamboats outings a few years ago were so good that I never expected a swerve. I expected a "match" where Steamboat took some bumps and got in a shot or two before Starks beat the crap out of him.
Also I didnt know Danielson was ready to go. Very effective and you can see it got the crowd nicely on a night where a distraction was badly needed. |

Starting Collision from the beginning. Got tired of Pat McAfee's voice during the Texas/Alabamer game.
|
Ugh. Mox home state
|
I'm surprised AEW keeps having popup advertisements for Fight Forever. They never have commercials for it during a broadcast.
It's not a bad game but I tried to figure out how to load Stadium Stampede for the first time the other day. I had to fucking look it up.....load it outside of the actual game. I waited for a few minutes queued because of course you can't just play against the computer. I gave up and fucked Droford's mother. |
whoa. Jade is back...maybe she just didn't like Punk
|
How is it? Dynamite 2.0 or have they kept the same feel?

she's NOT REAL!

Collision is done. Now Bryan is saying he’s got about a year left. Wrestlers talk out their ass, but I can see him bailing back to WWE for a HOF induction, Mania 41 and ending his career with significance.
|
Lol. Dude claims 1 year on the show that he now leads and he's auto going to retire?
He will eventually retire with wwe but you're a dumbass. |
Really enjoyed the episode this week. Lots of good stuff.

a total dud of an episode
feels like Rampage now |
RVD returns to Collision next week
Texas DEATH match between Starks and Danielson next week |
they didn't do any build to grand slam at all on this show...
|
Lol, take 22. They fucking suck.

So glad there’s such a strong story behind Starks vs. Danielson. They go to that stip whenever something is cold. Certainly smells of death.

Tony got scared Rock came back and called RVD lol

RVD boosted the ratings last time. I’m not sure he’ll help now that people have seen it. And I’m not sure they stick around for the rest of the crap.
|
its been a month or so since i legit sat down and watched a full episode of any aew show. its just.. difficult.

They’re not very good. Collision looked to be doing alright, but I got the benefit of consuming it in clips.

HAHAHA yes F Luchasaurus!

You jest, but Baby Brodie is more over than the percentage of the guys Kenny Omega said he wouldn't have hired, and he's only "on the roster" as a do-right gesture for his family.
That is, unless Tony plans on doing what WWE doesn't do with Dirty Dom, and officially make his custody chain another one of their documented titles. |
Love Rob Van Dam but he looks blown up as fuck in the AEW ring with those young guys... to the Extreme.
Less than 10 minutes with Jungle Boy Jack Perry and he looked gassed. Still surprisingly good but he was starting to look exhaustedly awkward with his move set. Tag Team Match with Hook n JAS guys in a less than 10 minute match and he looks completely exhausted. That gas tank is looks gone, marijuana weed smoked out... its smoke n mirrors & picking your spots from here on out. Kind of sad that there may never be ONE MORE great singles match for RVD. Still would have been cool if Hook congratulated RVD for their win and just said, "Pick a hand" and just fucking leveled RVD. Leading to a match where RVD could put over Hook while playing on the past. |
I thought Collision was one of the best shows AEW has produced in a long time.
Danielson does have a great mind for the business and how to make shows better. Not surprising, he comes from a ROH/WWE background...or just produces logic when it comes to storylines and the like, unlike the Elite. I love what they are doing with Julia Hart. Her character and how engrossed she is with it, her music is awesome. I really hope that they have her beat Statlander at WrestleDream. Girl deserves a title. |
RVD sucks but gotta give mad props to him for coasting on his ECW run/rep to make a further decades long career through several companies. Don't know if there has been a coaster as successful as him.
|
I had a blast at Dynamite/Rampage Grand Slam and watching back today I felt like the shows came together really well on TV.
And then Collision was really good too. Especially made me happy to see the Workhorsemen get some actual love from the crowd even though 90% of them understandably had no idea who those dudes were when the match started. WrestleDream card seems to have numerous bangers lined up Good time to be a fan |
Chris Jericho is great at coasting.
|
Real shame what has become of him... I was still greatly enjoying him in WWE at the end, and had him up in one of my top favs of all time.
Feel like he has been tarnished a lot by his current work.... |
Jericho’s been pretty bad since about 2016.
|
I knew you'd say that, but I was still greatly enjoying all the list of Jericho and "drink it in, maaaaaaan" stuff
|
A lot of people seemed to enjoy it. That’s fair enough. I thought it was hot garbage lol.
|
Danielson vs. Christian main event this week was excellent

Christian carrying the company on his back right now...

You’ve really got yourself into knots because I didn’t like the Edge debut, huh? Well, he might not be there much longer: Dave is reporting Edge and Starks already have legit heat with each other over some unscripted insults in their promo. |
They COULD be working it, because at this point angles that bury the company can’t hurt…right?
|
Is it true that they’re adding Tony Shiavone to the Collision commentary team? Kevin Kelly was one of the best parts of the show.

GOTCHAMANIA IS RUNNIN’ WILD, BROTHER!!!

I absolutely love Nigel on commentary. He's such a classic heel commentator, maybe the best at it since late '90s Lawler.
It's not just supporting the heels, it's that he actually buys the heels' motives and narratives and sells it with no sense of irony. Like Christian making a "sizable donation" to Nick Wayne's mom. |
So AEW hyped up Tiny Khan announcing a "Dream Match" for Collision, and the dream match is Danielson vs Andrade??? A random throwaway match and rematch from 2018 Smackdown... Tiny is such a creative and genius booker!
|
Don’t promote things as dream matches. It builds expectations too much and trivializes the concept. This is an exhibition match between two great talents being misused in a struggling vanity promotion.
|
Why is this even happening? Aren’t they both babyfaces? What is the goal of either guy? Who is actually going to get something out of this? We know that they were great wrestlers in WWE already.
And I haven’t really been paying too close attention, but it seems like Danielson is the one getting the push whilst Andrade’s had dried up without Punk around. So it doesn’t even have the added stakes of you even being unsure of who is going to win. TK could always throw Andrade’s heel group back together and take a step back for no reason, but this is major flaw in what he does. Wouldn’t it have been better to do something like Copeland & Danielson vs. Christian’s Sons for story reasons? Christian can be on commentary, Starks & Big Bill watching. The heels can get involved after the finish, FTR could do something with a save and even tease something with Edge. This shit writes itself better than TK writes it. |
They sold about 2400 tickets for this Collision. Tony Khan booked a 19,000 seat arena for 2400 people to come and chant "Whoop That Trick" within the first 5 minutes.
https://i.ytimg.com/vi/2Mce5s7dswQ/hq720.jpg |
Andrade vs Danielson IS a dream match though. In a "Holy shit Andrade is getting a real match instead of wasting away in catering! Am I dreaming!?" kind of way.

Also, that number is embarrassing. |
Remember when Dave Meltzer used to say that attendance reflected the true health of a promotion? That was when it was convenient to use it to rag on WCW in the late 90s or WWE in the 10s. Probably not fair to use that on AEW tho.
|
I can tell you exactly what Meltzer would say to that: BUT WEMBLEY

I’m sure Dave has to acknowledge that their attendance is poor. Well, I should say I know he has. But I also wouldn’t be surprised if he moves on from it very quickly and doesn’t link it to the actual health of the promotion like he would encourage people to do for absolutely every other wrestling entity ever. |
Quote:
No one was surprised that Wembley “did well.” Wasn’t shocking to hear that Tony and scalpers bought up a lot of the tickets too. But what will be interesting is how their return business in the UK does. I can see a second show doing alright because “there’s no way the second one would also suck…right?” Third one? Nah. But it was an interesting comparison Cornette and Last drew between AEW’s attendance and WCCW’s. This shit is dropping off FAST, but for some reason it isn’t a story nor is it going to be linked to any malpractice by Tony Khan or AEW themselves. |
It was an honor and a privilege to see Omega vs MJF live. Holy fuck what a great match.
|
Lol
