The Connecticut Republican Party gave Linda McMahon its Prescott Bush Award for donating lots of money and running for Senate twice. The losses apparently brought good exposure or something.

Who is the guy To Fuji's left? and the skinny guy in the ICOPRO tee?

Bad News Gertner 02-06-2014 07:11 AM

Skinny guy looks like Bill Alfonso, who was the Giant Gonzalez's handler at the time of this pic, and I believe the guy to Fuji's left is Headshrinker Samu.

Brigstocke 02-06-2014 07:41 AM

Looks like Godfather invented the Photobomb.

when I first saw/posted this, I thought it was Harvey Wippleman (who was Gonzalez's handler) but yeah, think it's Bill Alfonso now you've said it

you should, best era ever. Probably still watch more stuff from 1987-1991 than I do of the current product or from any other time.

Brigstocke 02-06-2014 07:57 AM

Maybe I will. I liked the characters.

Don't really know how I'd get stuff pre-raw? how the hell did they do it? was it all ppv's?

CSL 02-06-2014 08:19 AM

Prime Time, Superstars, Wrestling Challenge, Saturday Night's Main Event were pretty much the TV shows and the "big 4" PPV's. Youtube is your best bet, countless matches, segments etc on there

#1-norm-fan 02-06-2014 08:29 AM

Basically it was weekend morning stuff and Prime Time on Monday Night which mostly just consisted of Bobby Heenan in a studio being awesome while being interrupted by random pre-taped squash matches.

Saturday Night's Main Event was basically that generations Monday Night Raw in that it was where the biggest stuff happened but it only aired one night every couple months. It was also pretty much the only way you could see Hulk Hogan wrestle without paying money. Good times.

Ah piss, I was picturing Fonzie reffing the Taker vs Gonzalez match at Wrestlemania. Yeah, Wippleman was Giant's handler.

Fignuts 02-06-2014 01:22 PM

The fannypack era was fantastic.

CSL 02-06-2014 01:25 PM

long live fannypacks and zubaz

I would mark out if Benoit returned at Mania.

Just THINK of the "holy Shit" chants.

As noted before, Summer Rae, using her stage name and not real name Danielle Moinet, (the former team captain of the Chicago Bliss in the Lingerie Football League), replaces Jo Jo Offerman in the cast. Offerman is still under contract in developmental but there are no plans to use her on the main shows any longer since she’s not on Total Divas. Among the highlights of this ten episode season will be two weddings, the Jonathan Fatu and Trinity McCray (Jimmy Uso and Naomi) and the Bryan Danielson and Brie Bella (they use his real name, not hers) which will be the final episode of the season in May. Other storylines include Eva Marie also getting married to her non-wrestler boyfriend and keeping it a secret from her family, Nikki Bella contemplating breaking up with John Cena (considering they are still together, I guess that didn’t happen) as well as the introduction of Jonathan Fatu’s father, the famed Rikishi, as the mad parent who is against the marriage wanting his son to marry someone of Samoan ancestry. Yes, folks, that is just a storyline they created. They will also tell stories of Eva Marie winning over the WWE fans and becoming a big favorite (I missed that), Brie Bella, Natalya and Trinity all chasing the Divas title, but Natalya ends up out of the title picture due to a contrived (though pushed on the show as real) personality clash with Summer Rae. Fandango also ends up with more TV time on the show. The plan is for the season to end with the climax of Brie getting married and one of the women capturing the Divas title at WrestleMania.

I wonder if AJ gets to walk out cause she doesn't want to drop the title she's had for like 250 days to someone just so it can be a reality show storyline..hmm

Lock Jaw 02-06-2014 09:31 PM

Really hope that they don't have AJ drop the title just for the sake of Total Divas

Damian Rey 02-06-2014 09:32 PM

I don't think you "get to" walk out. Think it's something you just decide to do.

Anybody Thrilla 02-06-2014 09:45 PM

Eric Young is awesome. Nobody ever talks about him, though.

Bad News Gertner 02-06-2014 09:47 PM

They keep giving him stupid shit. He's like Santino, although Eric can be so much more.

Bad News Gertner 02-06-2014 09:49 PM

I don't mind Total Divas as a concept, but the fact that it's affecting storylines is fucking retarded. I know there was talk of Naomi and Cameron becoming heels, but they didn't because of the show.

On a side note, Cameron dancing gives me an erection. She might be the hottest diva in the WWE.

It's ridiculous that they're all "bitches" to each other on the show, but they're all best friends in storylines

Anybody Thrilla 02-06-2014 10:16 PM

They're not ALL bitches to each other on the show. The only real bitch was Eva Marie, but the rest of them were pretty cordial. I'm sad that I know that.

Also, props to Austin Aries as well. I'm watching TNA on delay right now so I can skip commercials. Austin Aries is really good at everything.

Anybody Thrilla 02-06-2014 10:21 PM

All of the storylines in TNA right now make a lot of sense. Weird to say that.

Anybody Thrilla 02-06-2014 10:24 PM

Also, Dixie Carter is a perfectly acceptable promo these days.

ALSO, Rockstar Spud is still awesome.

Anybody Thrilla 02-06-2014 10:34 PM

EC3 = Also awesome

Lock Jaw 02-06-2014 10:35 PM

Need to catch up with last week's TNA before watching this week. Yeah, I been keeping up with it as of late due to lack of a life.

She walks out and its not news that she walked out, its news that she was fired. Same thing probably goes for most of them not named John Cena.

Lock Jaw 02-07-2014 12:04 AM

Edge and Beth Phoenix have named their child "Lyric"

Santino is a much better in every way than Eric Young.

And I actually kinda like Eric Young.

Nobody remembers Eric Young being badass, shaved head, calculated heel leader at the beginning of the World Elite stable. So much promise... and as typical of TNA, they pissed that away. And then promptly made him a comedy act again. :nono:

Lock Jaw 02-07-2014 01:07 AM

I've seen serious Eric Young, and frankly, I prefer goofy Eric Young.

Poit 02-07-2014 01:35 AM

He's basically a scientist.

Innovator 02-07-2014 09:19 AM

Remember when Christopher Daniels and AJ had this amazing PPV main event following Desmond Wolfe against Kurt Angle, then a couple weeks later he lost to Val Venis and Wolfe disappeared?

#1-norm-fan 02-07-2014 10:03 AM

He disappeared for good reason though.

Hepatitis.
