Um, you can basically do that in Create A Story mode.

I loved GM mode, but I'm hardly missing it as a regular feature.

I was messing around with tag teams after Taker and Michaels became friends and Taker happily turned face and joined the Kliq with HBK and Triple H. Stopped that shit mid-PPV, though and took Taker out of it. Then the main event changed from Husky Harris vs. Shawn Michaels for the WWE title to Michaels vs. Taker.

Added a few tag teams, though, and combined the tag titles for now. The tag division never seems to get booked by Universe unless I book them myself, then they'll be booked for like a month.

Still trying to figure out a way to get rid of the extra sets of tag titles other than just putting them on the undisputed tag champions.

So I have Orton's punt for a finisher on one of my caws. It's produced some pretty "lol moments" for me involving the ref. One time when I was doing the punt, the ref, who was at the other side of the ring, got hit by the punt when I hit whoever I was punting.

I took Tyson Kidd and Mr McMahon, made them a team and threw them on them. Took them off both rosters.

Can you edit the show and then make those titles the official tag team titles of the show? I did that with the IC championship on Smackdown. I changed "minor" championship to the classic IC design.

Yes and you can have them setup so there exclusive to one show if you wish.

I'm talking simplicity here, like from WrestleMania 2000 for N64. Pick a PPV arena, book a full card top to bottom, and then run the card.

With all of the advancements in gaming this could be an awesome feature for a game like WWE '12. Some people don't want to run through storylines and week-by-week bullshit. They like to use their own imagination and create a month to month PPV only schedule.

I'm just saddened that THQ and WWE have removed this feature from so many of their recent games. It was honestly my favorite thing about wrestling games back in the day. And now, with the awesome new technology and graphics, I can't even relive any of that experience.

Recent games? I don't remember PPV mode being in any of the Smackdown vs. Raw games. It's a shitty mode you can just do the matches yourself or use a piece of paper and write the matches and accomplish the same thing.

It was simple because that's all a N64 can handle. You talk about advancement but how would going backwards be an advancement? It wouldn't.

I have heard nothing but overwhelming support for the WWE Universe mode except now. It's a great mode. Some people? No, just you. People sometimes complain about GM mode being gone but not make a ppv. GM mode always seemed to me a pale comparison to TEW and Extreme Warfare Revenge anyways.

Yeah you can do that in Create A Story. You don't have to have storylines, just pick a PPV and and book as many matches on it as you wish. Then save it and play it any time.

Yeah, it's pretty much the exact same thing, only better. Choose a show (it's the same calendar as Universe) and book it. Or book a whole week. Or a whole month of shows to play through.

Honestly, the only downside is that you have to save it and then play it. Otherwise there's no real difference.

If anything needs to make a comeback, it's King of the Ring/Tournament mode because that is a bit involved to make in Story mode. Hell, that could easily be integrated into Story mode by default, which it probably should be.

SVR 2006 and I think 2007 had the create a PPV mode. MAYBE even 2008.
I agree with King Of The Ring Mode..but towards the end it was getting there. I think it was in 2008..that if you won, you got to pick a queen and have a brand new entrance.
As others mentioned, would be cool if they integrated it with Universe Mode and turn it into a story.

I think it's a fair point that Universe mode would be much smoother if you could book the whole card and run through it, instead of having to quit out after every match.

I wish they could come up with a "patch" that would do that. But we'll probably have to wait for WWE 13. :(

Alright what the fuck. I go into Create a Story because I'm making a TLC PPV with matches set up like this Sunday. I create show intro, then try to make the first match and I go into competitors and the game locks up EVERY SINGLE TIME. I'm on PS3 does it do this shit on the 360? Someone try it and tell me.

WWE 13 IS the patch.

Guess it was the show intro doing it. I just set up the matches and inserted the show intro at the beginning.

Never had that problem before in the 360 version. Though I don't do the show openings they are filler and don't add anything relevant.

I think you'll find the Superstars show intros that I created very relevant.

Dunno about anyone else but Universe has still, after almost having had the game for 1 month not booked Cody v. Goldust on it's own. Really pissing me off too since Goldust is the only unlockable wrestler I have yet to obtain. I still have to unlock a bunch of titles and like 1 attire, but those are small potatoes in comparison.

Don't you just have to win a match as Cody that was booked by universe to unlock Goldust? That's how I got him unlocked.

Believe me, I tried that and nothing doing.

You have to win a one on one match with Cody, and wait until the scene plays.

Just keep going for it, it took a few goes for me to unlock Goldust.

The way I did it:

Booked a match on SmackDown Cody vs IC Champ. Won the belt with Cody.

Following PPV, Universe booked a rematch. Retained title. Goldust came out in the post-match.

I guess I could give that a go...:-\ and if it doesn't work, well, you know what they say about persistence eventually paying off...

Not to mention it looks like they literally carbon copied his tights from DoR 2 or SvR '06 or '07 and used those as his tights in-game...horrible.

This game is unreal. I had a triple threat cage match between HHH, HBK, and Cena.

I beat the ever loving shit out of both of them as HHH. I get put down with some bullshit grapple by HBK.

Cena and HBK start climbing at the same time. Cena gets out of the cage and wins. :|

Dunno, seems pretty realistic to me.

Cage matches are a tragedy waiting to happen.
