Fignuts 06-19-2013 06:17 AM

Honeslty, most people won't even give much of a shit. But for those who don't care about spoilers:

SPOILER: show
In the aftermath, it's revealed that the multiversal timestream has been broken. As a result, 616 Galactus has been transported to the Ultimate universe. But the reason for my marking out is fucking Angela from Spawn has been brought into the marvel universe. Used to love spawn up until about the 50th issue. Then the series takes a turn. But before that it was pretty mint, and Angela was one of my fav characters.

The Destroyer 06-19-2013 06:17 AM

I seriously don't get the hype about this "new" character. The way Marvel have been selling it, it's as if it's some huge massive event but I have absolutely no idea who they are or why I should especially care.

SPOILER: show
Spawn was pretty huge in the 90's. At one point he was the hottest franchise in comics. And Angela was easily the most popular of his rogues gallery.

You can...uh...probably see why

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_H6ISNl4Sr5...+Angela+12.jpg

The Destroyer 06-19-2013 06:35 AM

I see.

SPOILER: show
The Galactus thing could be interesting, I guess. I really need to get caught up with the Ultimate Universe anyway, I kind of drifted away from it after Jeph Loeb took a massive shit all over it with Ultimatum.

Fignuts 06-19-2013 06:50 AM

Don't forget Ultimates 3!

But don't worry. Ultimate Avengers is a return to form.

The Destroyer 06-19-2013 06:56 AM

Come to think of it, I did read read Ultimate Avengers 1 and 2. Didn't get around to the relaunched Ultimate Spider-Man, the Ultimate Doomsday series or anything else that came around the same time or since. Some day though.

loopydate 06-19-2013 09:23 AM

Same here. I gave up on the Ultimate universe after Ultimatum, but I do think I have the first volume of Avengers laying around somewhere.

Kalyx triaD 06-19-2013 02:31 PM

I like Angela's new 616 attire.

Kalyx triaD 06-19-2013 03:37 PM

Holy fuck Mary-Jane has been cut from Amazing 2, saved for part 3. AND the part may be recast.

Sony recently announced Amazing 3 and 4 a few days ago.

mitchables 06-19-2013 06:52 PM

are youse guys reading ff at all? between it and hawkguy, fraction is probably my favourite writer in comics at the moment.

parkmania 06-20-2013 05:29 AM

Is Ultimate Spidey still that Hispanic kid, or is it back to Peter Parker? If it's still Jaime, it seems really screwy to me that neither universe has Pete in the spandex.

Kalyx triaD 06-20-2013 10:46 AM

Yes he's still a black/spanish kid. It's pretty much worked out for them.

Kalyx triaD 06-20-2013 03:37 PM

RDJ has signed for Avengers 2 and 3. Iron Man's film series may be done, though.

The Destroyer 06-20-2013 03:42 PM

Hooray. Having to recast Iron Man could have been an absolute disaster.

Kalyx triaD 06-20-2013 04:00 PM

I imagine he'll do some cameos through out Phase 3 after Avengers 2 to keep up some presence.

McLegend 06-20-2013 08:51 PM

I want Iron Man 4...

They should recast the whole thing after Avengers 3.

Lock Jaw 06-20-2013 09:10 PM

Then make the whole movie about The Avengers trying to figure out why they all woke up looking like different people.

McLegend 06-20-2013 09:19 PM

I'd be ok with that.

Kalyx triaD 06-20-2013 09:35 PM

I foresee a universe wide reboot after Avengers 3 anyway.

Especially since Spidey's more than likely gonna be back in their hands then.

Lock Jaw 06-20-2013 10:07 PM

Now that I actually think of it, so would I. They could actually make a story out of that, and it would be "hilarious" and "meta" to make the movie all about how their appearances have changed.

parkmania 06-21-2013 10:23 AM

Just make Avengers 3 be about the culmination of a Secret Invasion-type event and introduce all the new actors in it.

Rammsteinmad 06-24-2013 01:52 AM

Dunno if this has been mentioned on here, but according to IMDB, "X-Men: Days of Future Past" will star cast members from both X-Men series, so James McAvoy, Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender, Ian McKellan, Anna Paquin, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry etc are all gonna be in this one together. Sounds pretty cool.

Lock Jaw 06-24-2013 01:58 AM

Old news by now.

Next Big Thing 06-24-2013 07:44 AM

I wasn't aware of that Lock Jaw. You Goddamn Marvel snob.

Next Big Thing 06-24-2013 07:45 AM

Has anyone read Thanos Rising? Any good?

Lock Jaw 06-24-2013 07:27 PM

I am far from a Marvel snob. Know so little about Marvel. Comparatively, at least.

dronepool 07-13-2013 02:15 PM

Cable and Deadpool will appear in X-Force movie

http://www.comicbookmovie.com/x-men_.../news/?a=83150

The Destroyer 07-13-2013 03:00 PM

Bet it rots in development hell forever.

Kalyx triaD 07-13-2013 03:22 PM

What does this mean for Deadpool's own movie, or would Ryan Reynalds appear as him in this potential?

That's what I'm thinking.

dronepool 07-13-2013 04:08 PM

Days of the Future Past = Cable, Deadpool, Wolverine+a female+another X-character= Foxs own "Dark Avengers" type hit squad?

Shadow 07-13-2013 04:14 PM

.....you are aware of what X-Force is right?

dronepool 07-13-2013 11:33 PM

Yeah... and who cares as long as it works to make money for Fox? Getting together some popular and new X-characters and sort of ripping off the Avengers movie idea but doing time travel / dirty black op work instead of Power Ranger superhero stuff.

Blitz 07-16-2013 01:56 AM

I'm loathe to post mere rumours here, but this one is interesting to me.

Quote:

Get ready for a week of comic book movie news as Comic-Con is getting ready to invade San Diego, CA this Thursday. So what better way to kick the week off than with a DOCTOR STRANGE movie rumor? According to Latino-Review, Marvel executives are discussing the possibility of offering Joseph Gordon-Levitt the role of the comic sorcerer.

Fignuts 07-16-2013 02:02 AM

I love me some levitt, but dr. Strange?

Dunno.

Lock Jaw 07-16-2013 02:06 AM

It sure would be a strange choice.

Kalyx triaD 07-16-2013 02:38 AM

I've learned to not judge any casting choices until I see a trailer. Lots of gambles that worked out the last few years.

Shadow 07-16-2013 09:33 AM

Also this kid has come a looooooooooooooong way since Third Rock.

Give it a chance.

Triple Naitch 07-16-2013 10:58 AM

Jack Huston would make a good Doctor Strange.

Miotch 07-16-2013 01:21 PM

Feel like it's a casting choice in order to prevent him from being the next Batman, if that was ever even a real thing.

Corporate CockSnogger 07-16-2013 03:03 PM

Oh sweet, Bear McCreary's gonna be doing the score for Agents of SHIElLD

The Destroyer 07-17-2013 05:07 PM

Post-credits scene in The Wolverine is apparently going to link into Days of Future Past.

Oh and Dinklage is definitely playing Bolivar Trask.

Skippord 07-17-2013 05:28 PM

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/_wCj9qxbp6g" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

When they showed the shot of Electro, I was expecting him to say something along the lines of "There's a Frrrreeeeezzzze coming over Gotham City"

Sixx 07-18-2013 07:16 PM

Ummm, is Jamie Foxx playing a white guy here?

Miotch 07-18-2013 07:24 PM

No.

Lock Jaw 07-18-2013 08:06 PM

He is playing a blue guy

parkmania 07-18-2013 08:35 PM

Say hello to the blue guy!

Fignuts 07-19-2013 01:16 AM

Watching Captain America. Mad underrated film. Only flaw is that the conflict between cap and skull doesn't feel personal enough.

Skippord 07-19-2013 01:18 AM

Captain America is my favorite of the Marvel movies

Fignuts 07-19-2013 01:56 AM

I'd have to go with Thor, but I'm biased in a lot of ways toward that movie.

Skippord 07-19-2013 04:16 AM

Thor is pretty great. Captain America was my favorite comic book character growing up so I'm a bit biased towards him.

McLegend 07-19-2013 04:17 AM

It's funny because the movie is over 2 hours long, but it still doesn't feel long enough. I would have liked more battle scenes. Not talking about just squarely action, but wanted to see more of Captain America's leadership and strategy like in New York in the Avengers. It's def glanced at in books he reads, news reels and war rooms. Still could have used more.

I'm not a fan of the WWII montage either. I feel like.

The Avengers and Iron Man are the two best movies. You can put the rest in almost any order.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/4TMDFuNu6JY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

dronepool 07-19-2013 09:04 PM

Thor is my least favorite of the "Marvel" films- just have a hard time getting into the whole macho fantasy/LOTR/Game of Thrones vibe.

DaveBrawl 07-19-2013 11:15 PM

Does Ang Lee's Hulk count as part of phase 1? If so that would have to be my least favorite. After that I'd say it's a tossup between the last 2 Iron Man movies or Edward Norton's Hulk, although I'd have to watch that again as I don't really remember it.

Kalyx triaD 07-20-2013 01:47 AM

No.

Kalyx triaD 07-20-2013 03:35 AM

Peggy Carter's short was screened at SDCC and it's sounding really cool, and it seems she may have a future in the MCU in some capacity. The One-Shot drops with the Iron Man 3 DVD.

McLegend 07-20-2013 09:11 AM

Word is that it is going to be announced at the end of this month that Vin Diesel will have a role in an up upcoming marvel movie.

This is coming from Vin Diesel himself.

Kalyx triaD 07-20-2013 01:00 PM

Seems he has Vision, too.

Skippord 07-20-2013 09:34 PM

Booo

Kalyx triaD 07-20-2013 10:02 PM

Disney/Marvel's panel is pretty much the hypest thing at SDCC. Hiddleson appeared as Loki and got the audience to become his army. Andrew appeared as Spidey as well in Sony's Spidey panel. Videos are out and about the internets so good luck finding them.

Speaking of Spidey, about time the Amazing Spider-Man 2 thread gets made. Any takers? Just include full title and date. The Electro teaser should be in the OP (centered but it's up to you).

Kalyx triaD 07-20-2013 10:14 PM

Fignuts is going to flip the fucking fuck out about Phase 2's big finale. Unless I'm reading it wrong, but if I got it right holy fuck. Whedon is going there already.

Skippord 07-20-2013 10:14 PM

Someone get on an Avengers: Age of Ultron thread too

Kalyx triaD 07-20-2013 10:41 PM

New threads are done. The thread link-chain for all the Phase 2 movies have been updated as well (Edit: MCU Phase Two threads are completed and linked together).

Wolverine: Origin 2

http://i.newsarama.com/images/i/000/...jpg?1374337644

Takes place after the first book. Nathaniel Essex is the villain.

Shadow 07-23-2013 07:32 PM

Great with all the bullshit that is Wolverine's origin, let's add Mr. Sinister to the mix.

Fignuts 07-24-2013 01:24 AM

Still think having dog and sabertooth as seperate characters was dumb. Will wait to read origin 2 to judge, but sinister seems a strange choice considering that he has never shown any interest in wolvie. Summers bloodline has always been his obsession.

Skippord 07-24-2013 01:32 AM

Maybe he's decided that wasn't working so he may as well move on

Mr. Sinister is my favorite X-Men villain so I like this idea

Kalyx triaD 07-24-2013 01:48 AM

Actually...

SPOILER: show
They may explain that meeting Logan is what made him interested in mutants.

Fignuts 07-24-2013 02:21 AM

Sinister is lame anyway. What'd be ever actually accomplish? Killing morlocks? Well done.

Skippord 07-24-2013 02:40 AM

You shut your whore mouth Sinister is metal as fuck

Fignuts 07-24-2013 04:33 AM

What's with that cape? Did it get caught in a paper shredder?

Skippord 07-24-2013 04:57 AM

It's stylish. Mr. Sinister knows more about fashion than he does about cloning. And he knows a fucking ton about cloning.

umm isnt apocalypse turning him into sinister what makes him interested in mutants?

Kalyx triaD 07-25-2013 03:06 PM

I dunno.

Reavant 07-25-2013 03:23 PM

eh sort of.... his origin has just enough of an opening to use your idea but this is his origin:

Quote:

Nathaniel Essex was born in Victorian England during the 19th Century. He was obsessed with Charles Darwin's theory on evolution. He truly began his work in 1859 when he learned that humanity was steadily becoming mutant, thanks to what he classified as Essex factors. His work intensified when his four-year-old son died of various birth defects. He formed the Marauders when he couldn’t get backing for his research. This team kidnapped people from the streets to act as test subjects on mutation. Essex even exhumed his son as a test subject.

The Marauders accidently stumble upon Apocalypse and awake him from his slumber. He sees potential in Essex and grants him mutations that give him longer life, advanced strength, and a healing factor. Essex took on the name Sinister, an adjective his dying wife used to describe the man he was becoming.

Reavant 07-25-2013 03:24 PM

Wolverine was born in 1880 so that was 20 years after sinister started his work

McLegend 07-25-2013 09:16 PM

I have a question.

It seems too me like in any Media(tv, movies, and comic books) Wolverine gets the shit kicked out of him all the time. It seems he gets beat way more then just about any other "Super hero."

So is it just me or is true?

Kalyx triaD 07-25-2013 09:45 PM

Well like Superman after the badassery of promotional material is pushed aside (covers, posters), writers actually counter balance their abilities by usually having them exceptionally outclassed in some way. Compare this to Batman or Iron Man who's whole deal is being prepared or adapting quickly to win. They may falter but we never Bruce or Tony get wrecked like Clark or Logan.

Lock Jaw 07-25-2013 09:51 PM

Plus, Wolverine's whole deal is healing, so getting riddled with bullets/cut to shreds/eyes gouged/skin flayed....... it is all par for the course, and "no big deal".

Wolverine and Deadpool both take an incredible amount of abuse because they have that healing ability, so writers are like "whatever, let's dip him in lava"

McLegend 07-25-2013 09:52 PM

Has it got to the point where it's humorous?

(Wolverine getting beat up that is)

Kalyx triaD 07-25-2013 09:58 PM

A t-rex chewed up Logan one time, I think. Hulk too. Think it was same t-rex actually.

With Deadpool, yeah. With Wolverine, sometimes. The other half is "Oh my! Look at what a badass Logan is!"

Skippord 07-28-2013 09:02 AM

I can't figure out why Marvel hasn't done anything with Channing Tatum

The Destroyer 07-28-2013 09:32 AM

Wasn't he one of the early rumours for Captain America?

Miotch 07-29-2013 02:09 PM

Maybe the Flash or Green Lantern or something though.

It's a children's cartoon. Batman Beyond's Will Friedel is doing the voice, essentially channeling Nolan North as a teenager.

McLegend 08-04-2013 01:02 AM

When Peter Parker is bad in Spider-Man 3 why did they decide to have his hair straight down? It looks so bad in a really bad way.'

I downloaded it last night, read like the first 10 books (there's over 120 with the tie-ins) and it sucks till now. So should I even bother? Or just read the main 8 Fear Itself books (since I started anyway) and be done with it?
