The Other Guys-8/10
Happened to be on Netflix so I gave it a watch. My brother told me it was a spoof, so I didn't take it seriously, and I'm glad I didn't. Laughed a lot during it's 1.5 hour run time. |
Manhatten - 7/10
|
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_YIJViINaoh...s1600/doop.jpg
7/10. Uwe Boll's only non-video game film despite the title is also named after the Rampage 80's arcade style yet the cover seemed like a CounterStrike artwork cover. :p Really enjoyed how the young dude goes from a very innocent calm guy working as a grease monkey by day but later, becomes a SWAT wannabe shooter maniac. |
Tron - 3.5/5
|
|
Too high D Mac.
King Kong (1933) - 10/10 First time I watched this today. It was superb. I liked the animation with King Kong and the other monsters. |
Biutiful - Wasn't expecting a lot from this cause I thought Babel was just awful and kinda prententious, plus this was hammered by a lot of critics, but I actually quite liked it. I read some of the critics reviews and they attacked it for being too bleak, which is dumb. It was a little overlong and some subplots could have been taken out but the cinematography and score were amazing. Bardem was fantastic as well, def made the movie, he is one of the best actors working today, he also looks like he has a huge head, I mean that literally too, like his cranium/mandible looks massive.
The Phenix City Story - Really entertaining B Noir from the 50s. About a town corrupted by crime and a father/son lawyer team who fight to clean the town up in the name of democracy or whatever. Really dark for it's time, there is a scene where a twelve year old black girl is killed then thrown onto the lawyer's lawn. It was also based on a true story and I was dissapointed to find that the younger lawyer John Patterson apparently went on to run for governor of Alabama, and ran a segregationist campaign that was to the right of friggin George Wallace(who was a pretty big racist). But he also endorsed Barrack Obama so who knows. |
Pirates: Stranger Tides 7.5/10
As a big fan of the previous 3 movies, I really liked the 4th installment of the series. I would rank it as my 2nd favorite of the 4. My only complaints were the mostly recycled soundtrack and the film couldve used more Blackbeard. I hope they continue with these one off, adventure type films for the next sequels. |
True Grit (2010) - 10/10
I had to watch this with subtitles cause Jeff Bridges was so hard to understand in his Foghorn Leghorn accent. Other than that, it was friggen excellent. The girl who played Mattie has a bright future ahead of her. |
Quote:
The Hangover: Part II - 6.5/10 Saw 3D - 6/10 |
Killers - 0/10
Ashton Kutcher sucks. The story sucked.....Katherine Heigl is hot. |
Before the Devil Knows You're Dead - 69
|
The Devil's Advocate - 8/10
Hangover 2 - 6/10 That's What I Am - 6/10 The Men Who Stare at Goats - 6/10 Thor - 6/10 Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides - 6/10 |
X-Men: First Class 11/10
AMAZING! |
Death Proof- 2 out of 5 - Sucked ass
|
Hanna - 8/10
Really enjoyed it a lot. |
The Maltese Falcon - 8.5/10. Humphrey Bogart absolutely kills it here as the flawed hero Sam Spade. Noir movies are far from my forte, which between that and the fact that it was made in 1940 may have held me back from REALLY appreciating it...but still a really excellent film.
|
Brazil - 8.5/10
That film is rather strange, and I felt oddly compelled to keep watching it until 2am in the morning. Quite dark in some places as well. |
True Grit 10/10
Thought it was awesome, better than the John Wayne version for sure. |
Green Lantern: Emerald Knights - 4/5
Pretty neat. Not all centered around Hal Jordan, but more like flashbacks to other Lanterns. |
Super 8 - 9/10
|
O.C. Babes & The Slasher Of Zombietown - 0/10
The soundtrack was so loud compared to the dialogue, and so high-pitched, that it caused me physical pain. Possibly the worst movie I've ever seen, although they did splice in 20 minutes of Night of the Living Dead, for some reason. |

I may watch this movie sometime in the future. |
X-Men First class- 10/10
|
Super 8 - 7/10
|
Las Vegas Bloodbath - 0/10
I regret already rating anything a zero, because this is the worst thing ever produced, in the history of mankind, by a long way. |
I watched Las Vegas Bloodbath with Jabba (and Afterlife and Vindicator). I literally spent the last twenty minutes punching myself in the head to try and make myself forget that I was watching it.

Really liked it. At first the first half was boring. But, the 2nd half was good aside from the usual love story. Lots of old Spielberg references, E.T. Goonies, Jurassic Park, Close Encounters, and a bit of Cloverfield alien style. It even had a titanic-ish scene where the amulet of the boy's mom photo in it, gets magnetized on the metal pieces that were flying to reform the spaceship. Yes, it felt like Goonies only instead of treasure pirate hunters, we have high school zombie filmmakers. And stay for the end credits because of a short film of the main protagonists' school film project called, "THE CASE" they made throughout the movie ala 80's zombie style short film. LOLZ stuff. :P 8/10. |
Mystery Team 8.5/10
Red Riding Hood 7/10 |
Driving Miss Daisy - 6/10 No idea how this one best picture. Went in bit biased because it one best picture year Do The Right Thing wasn't even nominated, more furious over that situation now. Movie had some moment I guess, but overall just nothing special.
|
Reservoir Dogs - Why is this filmed in a nonlinear pattern? Why does it take 5 minutes for a simple thing to happen? Why is The Lime In the Coconut the credits song? It's so out of place. Why is Steve Buscemi doing such a great acting job? Why does Quinton Tarantino look like a real life version of Beavis?
I don't know what I should rate this. The acting was awesome, the plot was great, the pacing of a Tarantino movie was slowwwww and it I didn't care for some dialogue, and I was hoping it would hurry up and be over at times. I guess I'll say 7/10 |
X-Men: First Class - 8/10
CGI wasn't that impressive though. |
Exam - 7/10. Minimalist study of the human person under pressure. 8 people get offered a high profile job at a Fortune 500 company if they can only answer one question in an 80 minute window. Some basic rules are set in place as to how people will be disqualified, and off they go...until they find that none of them actually have a question on their sheets. How things unfold are interesting, if not a bit contrived. Ending is kind of a letdown, but overall worth the viewing.
Also, not understanding Jabba's fascination w/ watching shitty C movies. Dunno why one would put themselves through that. |
Clash of the Titans - 50
|
School of the Undead - 1/10
Horrible in every way. It gets a point because it was clearly made by school kids, who at least tried to make something interesting, with no budget. |
Zombie Cop - 0/10
Retarded plot, dialogue, acting, and a soundtrack that didn't know when to take a break. |
X-Men: First Class - 88
Super 8 - 89 |
X-Men: First Class - 3.5/5
|
Precious - 8/10. I didn't like the ending
|
http://images.moviepostershop.com/gr...1020696435.jpg
fucking awesome. I could care less about the distracting CGI 3-D stuff. Had funny dialogue too.. Wayy up there with the humor of Iron Man. Hal Jordan by Ryan Reynolds is almost as cocky and a prick like Tony Stark.. His humor too. :P I loved the part where he tried reciting the Lantern Corps oath when he tried on the Green ring by quoting, "TO INFINITY AND BEYOND ALA TOY STORY TO HE-MAN, "BY THE POWER OF GRAY--- WHAT THE HELL AM I SUPPOSE TO SAY?!?!" LOLZ moment. And stay for the start of the end credits roll, another scene for a sequel involving, SPOILER: show 10/10. |

X-Men First Class - Kinda whatever. It was entertaining enough, but nothing special, no atmosphere and the pacing felt rushed or something nothing really memorable either. I dunno, for every good part/scene there were like 5 dumb ass parts that sucked. Fassbender is a champ though, he'll probably be the new "it" actor for awhile even though nobody will have seen him in Hunger or Fish Tank. 6/10
Tree of Life - Terribly difficult to review but excellent movie. Def Malick's most experimental film but also my favourite of his "new" films. Cinematography is amazing and we get the creation of the universe, dinosaurs, psychedelic microorganisms and of course the nostalgic and personal story set in 1950s Waco Texas. Brad Pitt is good, really embodies that caring but distant feeling we all get from our fathers. I'm sure someone smarter could articulate what they took from this film by referencing Heidegger or other philosophers, but I just enjoyed this daring cinematic meditation on the solitude and meaning of life against the overwhelming backdrop of the creation of the universe. 9/10 |
Source Code - 78
|
Exploring Love
the hour and fourty minutes felt like four hrs over the top forced acting and shitty camera work at times last time I watch a movie that was recommended on Netflix Streaming stay far far away from this one |
Grumpy Old Men - 3/10
|
Gnomeo And Juliet - 7/10 - Cute and a kiddie twist on a classic story. Not as horrible as expected.
|
Hanna - 78
|
@PorkSoda - Steve Buscemi is good, that's why. You should check out Boardwalk Empire, HBO series with him as the star. Good stuff.
|
Battle: Los Angeles
6/10 |
The Fifth Element - 9/10
Mila Jovovich is fuggin hot and a damn good actress. This movie was the goods. I need to watch Thelma and Louis, Bonnie and Clyde, Phantoms, Maverick, the original True Grit, and a Woody Allen movie. Which should i watch first? |
Green Lantern 7/10
|
I am number 4 - 7/10
The roomate - 6/10 |
The Sorcerer's Apprentice - 2/5
|
Green Lantern 5.5/10 Not as bad as critics made out to be, but nothing outstanding. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds had 0 chemistry together.
Oa stuff was cool. |
Dial M For Murder - 9/10
This is seriously my first time watching a Hitchcock film. I have lost my Hitchcock virginity. The acting is very top notch and the writing is great. Also, the directing is superb. Good stuff! I NEED TO GO TO THE FRIGGEN MOVIE THEATER! Jeepers...... |
Jabba giving Double R a run for the title of Top Reviewer,
|
The Mechanic 6/10 - Huge fan of Statham but seriously this was like I wasted 90 minutes of my life with the ending being super predictable..
Black Swan 2/10 - I really didnt have any idea what the hell was going on. |
http://twitchfilm.com/news/AlienVsNinja.jpg
AvN: Alien vs Ninja - 5/5 This is the greatest movie ever made. You'll know this by the time the alien controlled zombie ninjas start chanting "Fuck you" in unison. http://www.nerdsociety.com/wp-conten...er-320x500.jpg The Princess and the Frog - 4/5 I liked it. |
Dracula Dead and Loving it - 7/10
|
Saw: The Final Chapter. 6/10

Holy fucking shit... The Thing + Terminator T-1000 + Alien Cthulu squid + Christine + Transformers = This movie... And the ending was a huuuge twist sucker punch as well. One of the best Direct to Video killer car movies ever made if you can get past the cheesy acting and effects.. My fucking god.. Reason why I'm saying those movie references well, go see it. Highly recommended. Oh and some comments say that the director must've been watching that Futurama episode called The Honking.. :P 9/10. P.S. Unless, I'm thinking I'm the only one that likes killer vehicles movie stuff. :p And the director is the same guy that made the One Missed Call Japanese remake shit... And this trailer doesn't do the full movie some justice. I liked how they avoided showing how the car is a SPOILER: show <iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/VIX-fNjwSYU" allowfullscreen="" width="560" frameborder="0" height="349"></iframe> |
Machete 8/10
Plot seemed a bit lacking, but it's a Robert Rodriquez film starring Danny Trejo. The action makes this movie obviously. Plus you see Lindsay Lohan and Jessica Alba naked. Jeff Fahey did a pretty good job too. Like that guy ever since seeing him as Lapidus on Lost. :y: |
Letters To Juliet
Yeah the girlfriend had me watch this one. Typical yet unique. I loved the cinematography and locations so that kept me going through the shit moments. 5 out of 10 |
Awake - 4/10
Acting was OK, twist was very contrived, and the fact that he was in anesthetic paralysis really didn't have any play in the plot whatsoever. The "supernatural" stuff was also really silly, especially the main character's interactions at the very end of the movie. Sat through it because I was curious as to how it ended...so I'll give it that. The Hangover - 9.5/10 Fucking hilarious. Can't believe I hadn't gotten around to watching it until now. Zach Galifianakis was hilarious here, and the whole ride was just laugh-a-minute greatness. |

Yes, I'm not kidding I REALLY REALLY mean it. :p
http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/gall...Terminal_1.jpg And to think they're making a remake of REC 2.. Ha, this one was just waayyy off. Even though some passenger was watching news on his laptop. And it showed the scenes from the first Quarantine movie. Thank god, they avoided remaking REC 2 scene for scene. Zombies on a plane anyone? 6/10. |
Clownstrophobia - 1/10
Utterly boring and confusing. |
Insidious - 7/10.
|
Iron Man 2 - 7/10
Hey, I liked this one. I thought the first one was terrible, but this was great. I don't like Downey Jr. as Tony Stark. He talks too fast and makes intellectual points. There's nothing wrong with that, butitsoundslikethisandthewordsarejumbledifhewouldjustslowdownandtalkatanormalspeed Pork would like it more. |
Terror At Blood Fart Lake - 0/10
Hard to believe, but it's actually worse than the title suggests. Non-stop retarded babble for over an hour. |
I was talked into one of these Skype/Shitty Film sessions. They say that you should live with no regrets, trying watching that shower of shit and not regretting it.
Despite a full half hour of dialogue I still had no idea what was going on. This pretty much continued the full length of the film (1hr 14mins). At one point a character was "eaten" by another character's asshole and then shat out as a pile of bones and guts. The high point was a topless scene with a girl that was barely decent looking. Jabba owes me 1hr 14mins of my life back/10 |
Sucker Punch 9/10
The Notebook 3/10 |
Porn Shoot Massacre - 1/10
Pointless characters were introduced throughout, just to be immediately killed off. The only selling point was the plethora of bewbz. |
http://veryaware.com/wp-content/uplo...er-470x702.jpg
Transformers 3: Even without Megan Fox, still enjoyed it. It felt out of place of the 1969 Armstrong Moon landing history. This is my first time of seeing a few humans siding with Megatron and Decepticons. What a plot twist. :p Although I highly doubt there'll be a Transformers 4 since SPOILER: show 8/10. Fuck the critics. I don't give 2 shits if this was a shit movie. Hell, even this year's Oscar movies are not worth seeing all over again. Seriously. Except Black Swan. :p |
Don't understand why Jabba wastes so much time watching horrible movies that he knows are going to be horrible. Seems like a waste of months of your life in the long run.
|
Half the fun is listening to the pain of other people watching them.
|
Phantoms - 3/10
Affleck was da bomb in this movie, yo |
X-Men: First Class - 10/10
It was X-cellent, X-ceptional even :shifty:. |
Tropic Thunder - 4/10
|
Step Brothers - 5/10
|
Equilibrium - 7/10
Fantastic fight scenes. |
Senna 9/10
Real incite into the man that skimps on the racing action just a little too much. |
Adjustment Bureau 8/10
Better than i expected honestly. |
Transformers 3
Bloody awful. Very sad :( 4/10 |
http://www.roughcutreviews.com/image...ory3_ver26.jpg
For a cartoon, this one's a bit more of a dark theme about evil toys being rejected and Daycare center portrayed as a prison nightmare where toddlers just fuck up toys by smashing them... Some playtime huh? Nothing I hate more than that stupid evil Lotso Bear who thinks toys are fucking trash. The ending with Andy SPOILER: show 8/10. I find it rare and awkward that this one's Oscar nominated for Best Picture. |
it deserves to be nominated it was a fabulously well written end to a trilogy.
Whatever comes past this will be clown shoes as I hear they are planning a 4th. PISS ON IT. |
X Men: First Class
Like everyone else, wasn't expecting much because of the lack of hype and star power..plus "reboots" have taught us not to care too much going into them. That being said, this was better than all 3 prior X Men movies combined. It had story, plot, character development, realism & good acting. 10/10 - I HOPE this becomes the new franchise to watch. |
Bad Teacher: 8/10
Green Lantern (3D) : So much deviation from the comic books :'( 5/10 |
Pandorum: 7/10
|
X Men Origins: Wolverine
10 out of 10. Don't know much about continuity especially after JUST watching X Men First Class but as a story this movie was outstanding. I bet the die hards for the X Men franchise hated story and plot holes but as a casual fan I was glued to the screen. |
green lantern
8/10 again, being a casual fan I was pretty impressed with part 1 of what I'm sure will be another franchise. The dialog was crappy at times but the story flew by and the action was good....the ending fight scene was quick and somewhat anticlimactic but I have hope for the future. |
Season of the Witch 8/10
Unknown 8/10 |
The Dilemma - 5/10
|
Hobo With A Shotgun:
It was one of those movies you watch for the sole purpose of laughing at how bad it is. I mean really, the title says it all. If you want an excitingly violent gore-fest that's so bad it ends up being awesome, you can't go wrong with this one. 100/10 ridiculously entertaining. |
http://www.baiscopelk.com/wp-content...ctive-2008.jpg
2001 Space Odyssey + Blair Witch + Paranormal Activity + Close Encounters + Afghanistan = This movie. The only clues I can give you when watching this is the presence of triangular shapes that look like SPOILER: show The scenes may be a bit dragging but the 2nd half was intense. SPOILER: show IMDB comments kept theorizing of those bright orb lights the marines saw like SPOILER: show http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vimana Go figure. 7/10. |
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi..._poster%29.jpg
10/10 Though I'm always biased towards a Leto film, this one really made me think. It's a drama about the last mortal man (aged 118) in an immortal world, explaining his life. String Theory gets involved. Fun from the start. |
Quote:
Oh and also yesterday saw Stephen King's The Mist. Great horror film imo, with what i'd say was a double twist at the end if i remember correctly though i may have just got carried away with how good it was. 10/10 for this one to. |
