No, Figgy’s right. The 4th wall line is a jab at how the WWE wants to exist on its own stage. Breaking the 4th wall was like saying “I’m a real person going to ack owledge real things.” It was a really good promo. I guess a promo getting a shorthand name is fine, but I hate how it is referred to as a “worked shoot.” It’s just a fucking promo.

Taz is a fucking cocksucker. He treats everyone like shit. Disrespects his co hosts all the time. I tried listening to his podcast twice and I couldnt take it at all. It wasnt funny. It was just this short insufferable washed up wannabe tough guy talking shit and disrespecting everyone. I'm shocked anyone listens to him.

Its crazy how Flair treated his self and hes probably going to outlive 99% of his contemporaries

Nope, I've heard the opposite. He has a non-terminal cancer.

Vastardikai 03-02-2019 11:44 PM

It was terminal, but Harley threatened it by lowering his voice, so it became non-terminal.

Without any context, either Luger simply forgot what to do or he suffered from a random bout of Big Show heel/face turn-itis.

Lock Jaw 03-03-2019 05:13 PM

And what is the context?

Bad News Gertner 03-03-2019 05:27 PM

In late 95/early 96 Lex was with Jimmy Hart and was a heel unless he was around Sting. He was so fucking great. He was basically over-exaggerating all the things people said about Lex (wouldn't look at the fans while slapping hands, arrogant, a prima donna). He's so good.

No clue.

Found the gif at another site and just wanted to make a Big Show face/heel turn joke.

Don't even remember Sting and Luger being tag champs in WCW since apparently the end of their reign happens around the same time I started watching WCW. Like maybe a couple of weeks at most prior to Scott Hall showing up.

Maluco 03-03-2019 06:37 PM

It’s what Gertner said, and it was hilarious! Agree with him that Lugar was underrated as a character. When he was given something decent, I always thought he was really good.

He was a heel, but when he was around Sting, he pretended to be a face. Hence the exaggerated hand tagging when Sting looks round. Very funny at the time and continued the theme of Sting being an idiot (forgiving Flair and teaming with him constantly, only to get turned on again)

Plus at that time the torture rack was so massively over that no matter what Luger did during the match (which was usually just over selling punches) once he lifted his opponent up on his shoulders, everyone lost their minds.

Ol Dirty Dastard 03-03-2019 07:06 PM

i like how Sting always gave Lex the benefit of the doubt but when Lex got attacked by the fake Sting it was all "FUCK YOU STING YOU DAMNED TURNCOAT" without giving him a chance to explain.

Like 80% of Jost and Che’s Weekend Update jokes are focused on making fun of Trump so for that reason it’s kinda surprising to see Vince inviting them

He was a heel, but when he was around Sting, he pretended to be a face. Hence the exaggerated hand tagging when Sting looks round. Very funny at the time and continued the theme of Sting being an idiot (forgiving Flair and teaming with him constantly, only to get turned on again)

He was so great. I remember the Nasty Boys and Harlem Heat were brawling backstage and the fight into an area where Lex is doing his hair and Lex yells "hey, you're going to ruin my sheen" lol.

2000 Lex with Liz was also very funny. Lex is at his most entertaining when he's poking fun at his aloofness

There have been infamous bouts of Vince rewriting shows multiple times. I'm somewhat inclined to agree, considering that I didn't think that much of either one of these guys in ROH. Dijak was servicable as a "big man", but could have sucked worse than Baron Corbin if he had been overexposed (which he thankfully wasn't). And I was hurting to see the difference between Keith Lee and Shane Taylor... not because they were to big black guys, but because they were both big black guys with football backgrounds and kinda sloppy in the ring (excuseable granted how green they were) and had nothing that really set them apart at all. I would almost say they were easily mistakeable as a "twinsy" tag team, but then I actually remember them being a tag team at one point there with black singlets with only their initials like a generic AoP. They were two guys who were there.

They both have improved. I guess the "Bask in my Glory" thing is getting over, and maybe one day it'll grow on me like Velveteen Dream did, but I dunno. In an unprecidented move, WWE added more letters to Dijakovic instead of changing it or shortening it to just Donovan or something. He moves less lanky and Keith moves more smoothly. And if these two had touched in ROH, that would have been a "big" match with severely less return than this showing in developmental. We'll see how it pans out for them both, but there may be some upside after all.

Neither. She's just there looking pretty and hosting a segment much like we have the new runway model who interrupted her a little bit ago.

Why even bother having wrestlers wrestle on a three-hour wrestling show?

Completely agree. Everyone knows plans change. The issue with someone like Meltzer constantly pointing out this obvious fact is that he makes his living "speculating" on the plans. When he says "plans change" he just comes off as someone who's giving you a fine print disclaimer that he may be completely wrong but in no way is it his fault.

I wonder how many times Meltzer (or anyone for that matter) has been wrong about something they ran with and he thought to himself "Oh well, plans change" when in reality he had just been fed utter bullshit by an untrustworthy source.

According to the sheets, WWE is somewhat upset with Ronda Rousey.

Mix of WWE being upset over the quality of her promos even though she's been given a lot of creative freedom for it and her having really thin skin from the on-going Twitter feud with Becky.

Quote:

Unless you having been living under a rock, you should be aware of the controversial Twitter exchange that occurred yesterday between Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch.

Sources within WWE and close to Diva Dirt have learned Ronda Rousey is legitimately pissed off at Lynch, following the social media feud. It seems the two women have worked themselves into a shoot.

Sean Ross Sapp at Fightful, confirms the validity of the information, adding, “Beyond that, Rousey’s terminology on the microphone is widely known in WWE to be confusing and anticlimactic. Everyone we’ve spoken to within the company believes that Rousey’s frustration is real.”

Gerard 03-04-2019 06:24 PM

Ronda needs to pull her head out of her ass and realise she's in wwe. I find it hard to believe that most of that stuff would have been posted without prior consent. Says it all when a worked "feud" deteriorates into a shoot because one of the 2 involved is a clueless hothead. :-\

RP 03-04-2019 06:38 PM

Ronda probably had a period leak.

Can't tell if being sarcastic or serious.

I was just saying, even though he may have built pretty credible sources and have a fairly accurate track record considering he does deal in speculation in an industry potentially less stable than the stock market, he kind of shoots his own credibility in the foot the times that he's wrong.

The times he's said something to the effect of "I was wrong about that" is dwarfed in comparison to essentially saying "I would have been right if they didn't do something else".

Say WWE supposedly advertised Lesnar vs Rollins match for Wrestlemania, but Dave says in January they are starting in on laying groundwork for Lesnar vs Kingston instead being why he got screwed recently for his match with DB... whatever. It's a long term plan that bears out, and we get Lesnar vs Kofi. Meltz was right. Balloons and confetti.

Now, say Brock gets hurt. That's an obvious audible. Even if Dave is wrong, there's not really anything to denote it was bullshit since an injury isn't something that can be foreseen. The original might have truly been written in pen, but they have to work around it.

But then, that same declaration of Lesnar vs Kofi at mania is made, but Brock drops the belt on Raw to Drew McIntyre - not in an emergency "he or Vince or both got pissed off" way, but in an actual scripted push for Drew- in some actual storyline that makes sense. Drew faces, of all people, Bray Wyatt at The Showcase of the Immortals... the chances of having a semi-dismissive "plans change" are immensely greater than just saying he was totally off and didn't see that coming. That's the irksome point. It's like he's just covering his ass so that he can always still be technically right.

Gender Salary Inequality Outrage Time

Basically Brock makes 12 million to Rousey's 1.5 and doesnt even show up that often.
and for added fun The Man only makes 50k more than Curt Hawkins ...and apparently a good chunk of the women only make $80k/year

Emperor Smeat 03-05-2019 10:00 PM

The Mirror's list got debunked by Meltzer. Same happened last time when Forbes reported on WWE salaries that turned out to be wrong in the end as well.

According to Meltzer, top 3 earners in WWE currently are Lesnar, Ronda, and Bryan.

Droford 03-05-2019 10:10 PM

Im guessing lesnar still makes 8x what ronda does

Emperor Smeat 03-05-2019 10:34 PM

Think she makes closer to what Cena was making prior to him becoming a part-timer. Last I remember Cena was making somewhere between $4-$6 million and Lesnar around $6-$8 million.

For Bryan to be #3, he has to be making at least over $2 million since Reigns was making a similar amount when he was in the Top 3.

Based on some reading, its the same surgery Edge and Jason Jordan had for their necks.

In terms of comparisons, Ciampa's neck supposedly was in a lot worse shape than Jordan's.
